I spent a fortune on my PC. It is a desktop computer, and the webcam on it is broken. Oh my God. I had to get an external one because I need it for some internet business meetings. This webcam package is a plug-and-play technology. A self-standing tripod, removable privacy shutter, branded microfiber cloth, a connected 5-foot cable, and an instruction manual are all included in the kit. The webcam offers an excellent resolution when used and is compatible with Windows 8 or later. This webcam worked flawlessly right out of the box, and I love how simple it was to set up and use. This webcam is a big improvement over the webcam that came with my PC and offers very clear images and videos. The tripod is also a very useful addition, and the camera is sharp and clear.

It is a good camera. But I am not very impressed with the image quality. I was also expecting a higher quality from the microphone. To hear my voice, I have to peep closer to the camera. My Sony condenser mic is superb compared to this. Autofocus is very average, and sometimes it fails to focus the object. At that time, I thought a camera with a fixed focus was clearer than this. Overall, the quality of the camera is above average, but it is highly overpriced and overrated.

It's easy to use. Plug & play. It focused pretty fast and I didn't need any special lighting. I just used ambient light in my bedroom. I tried it on Linux with VLC, Simple Screen Recorder, Cheese, and Webcamoid. Cheese was unusable. The other apps were OK. Simple Screen Recorder looked the best but I had to adjust the resolution down to 720p. Logitech has a free download package for Windows 10 and it works really well. This is probably the fastest & easiest way to start recording. I haven't tried the thing on Zoom, WebEx, or Discord yet, which is really what I bought it for. Good camera so far though. If you don't want to spend much and don't want to fiddle with a lot of settings, this one is a good choice. No buyer's remorse here.

The Pros:The light is integrated into Logitech's software for the webcam. You can turn the light on and off as you like. The light gives you a wide color temperature range, with a slider, which is more than I expected. You can adjust the light's color balance, brightness and dim with a good range. You have options for Auto focus, Auto white balance, and Auto exposure. If you want to go manual you have exposure, gain, brightness, contrast, saturation, sharpness, anti-flicker.One last plus is the privacy cover which many webcams don't have.Cons:The zoom. Great quality video, and I like that it has a privacy shutter. It's not especially sophisticated — it just snaps on to the camera — but it does the job. Also nice that the base is threaded so it can be used with a tripod if desired. The problem — and the reason I'm giving it just 3-stars — is the new LogiTune software. It includes options to integrate the cam with my calendar and agenda and what not, but takes away a lot of the video controls that were available in the older "QuickCapture" software from Logitech. The zoom function in the new software provides minimal zoom. I'll explain: The software's on-screen slider for zooming is about an inch long, but the camera only zooms in for about the first quarter-inch of travel on the slider. I'll explain: The software's on-screen slider for zooming is about an inch long, but the camera only zooms in for about the first quarter-inch of travel on the slider. After that first bit of travel, there is no more zoom, no matter how far you move the slider. If you set the picture quality to 720p instead of 1080, you can get a bit more zoom, but still nothing like the whole shebang.Logitech tech support seemed to have no idea about whether the software was supposed to work like this, or if it was a defect. Oddly, when I tried the camera with MS Teams — and using LogiTune to control the camera — the software let me zoom in almost as much as I wanted. Still not zooming for the full travel of the slider, but a lot more, although only in 1080p — for some reason, the option to reduce picture quality to 720p (and maybe get a bit more zoom) disappears when using the software with Teams. No idea why it works this way, but it does.A second drawback to the LogiTune software is that, unlike the "QuickCapture" software that came with earlier Logitech webcams, you can't take a snapshot or record a video with LogiTune. To do that, you have to use the Windows 11 camera app, and when using that app, the software reverts to giving only minimal zoom, and you also lose the option of switching to 720p to get that little extra bit of zoom. This is the big drawback with this camera — and not with the camera, but with the LogiTune software, which is a real step backward from the previous webcam software from Logitech.I'm not sure what other webcam manufacturers offer in the way of software, but I'm wishing I'd looked more carefully at them before I purchased this camera. I've been a longtime Logitech customer, and this is the first time they've disappointed me. Until they come up with better software, I can't recommend this, or any other Logitech webcam until they come up with better software.
I hate to say bad things about an otherwise good product, but.... The mic does NOT work out-of-the-box. You have to download LogiTune (195MB) and install it and THEN you can turn the mic on.There's the usual 4 page fold out Manual, that's really warnings, but nothing about needing a download to turn on the mic. Oh, yes, on later inspection, there's installation instructions printed on the inside of the box (not inside the box, but literally printed on the inside of the box -- of course that's where I look for directions!) with a single picture showing a download.Arrgh. Silly me, I missed a meeting because I just assumed the mic would work. What is Logitech thinking?
The Logitech C920S HD Pro Webcam is an excellent choice for everyday use. Its 1080p HD video quality is crystal clear, perfect for video calls and conferences. The autofocus feature is quick and reliable, ensuring a sharp image every time. I especially appreciate the built-in privacy shutter for added security. It's easy to set up and works seamlessly with various video platforms. Overall, a great value for its price. Highly recommended for anyone needing a reliable and high-quality webcam.
Very reliable camera with excellent image. Logitech drivers are good but their software is a bit bloated, I tend to use the Microsoft built in drivers. The flip up lens cover is simple and nice, though a little tricky to lift up without moving the camera if you don’t grab the small tab perfectly. I can’t say I’m a fan of the “clamp” that rests on the monitor, though I can’t think of one of these types of cameras that really does that well. Has a solid tripod mounting screw hole on bottom, which opens up a lot more options for photography/videography. Microphone works well, clear sound.
First, this is not my camera, I was trying to get it to work for someone else. The microphones would not work. Turns out you have to download Logitech software to turn the microphones on! Did that, turned them on, and they still didn’t work. Made several attempts over the course of several weeks, Googled many sites, watched numerous YouTube videos, but never could get the microphones to work. I decided to bring it home and try it on MY HP computer (which I DID purchase from Best Buy). It did not work on my computer, either. Watched more videos and went to the Microsoft chat page. Was advised to turn off computer, unplug it for 30 seconds, then restart. This webcam works fine if you just want to plug & play it as-is. However, it has a focal length that makes you look really small in the frame (zoomed out) as well as a tendency to make you your surroundings look really dark. In order to zoom the webcam in, change brightness/contrast, etc., you will need to download the piece of software on Logitech's website called "LogiTune." Confusingly, there are several other outdated pieces of software on their website that also integrate with the webcam, but they are not up-to-date and as a result they don't actually work. I downloaded THREE before finding the one that is current (LogiTune). Real pain in the neck; the webcam did not come with any instructions about how to do this or which software to download. I downloaded THREE before finding the one that is current (LogiTune). Real pain in the neck; the webcam did not come with any instructions about how to do this or which software to download. LogiTune is fine most of the time, but it seemingly randomly ceases to work some days. Recently it stops working more often than it works. I have yet to figure out why it sometimes doesn't work. For a webcam this expensive, I would expect for the software to be functional and for the webcam to have come with instructions about this (which it does not). So overall I feel like this webcam is a bit overpriced.
