While I had issues getting Windows 11 to recognize the shifter (downloading Logitech Gaming Software fixed it), the frustration has been worth it. The paddle shifters on the G29 steering wheel work fine. I primarily race open wheel cars which it's perfect for. For the games that feel better with the shifter, it's a must have. American Truck Simulator, iRacing, Forza Horizon 5, and GRID Legends all feel incredible with the shifter. If you're questioning if you should get it or not, the answer is yes.

If you’re like me and absolutely love cars and anything motorvehicle related, you will appreciate this handy steering wheel. It creates a surreal gamimg experience; especially for the younger gamer. The added vibrations and very similar sounds and haptics are a plus. An overall 10/10. Don’t walk, run to buy it! Great gift for a gamer.

Solid built and it's easy to use, I play mostly Dirt Rally 2.0 and Project Cars 2. Not for F1 fans! It's great for an entry level shifter if you don't want to spend hundreds. For casual playing is pretty good, but get a rack for the wheel, pedals and shifter. There are some decent ones around ~$100.There's only one major cons:It's way to easy to shift wrong as it has almost no feedback so when you try to follow the navigator in DR2.0 it's frustrating. There's an almost non-existent tension so you have to pay extra attention when you do fast shifts.A small minus is the missing 7th and 8th gear. You can't use it when you drive any car with abovementioned gearing. Getting the Logitech shifter is entirely worth it! This is perfect for playing Forza. It really makes the driving experience! My daily driver is an automatic transmission with paddle shifters, which is great, but not quite like driving stick - this Logitech, however, scratches that stick-shift itch so well! Throws are short and smooth. It's not as notchy as a Civic Type R, but it's still satisfying to row through the gears. It's somewhere between Toyota 86 and Mazda Miata (maybe Civic Sport?). If you drive a manual Mazda in the real world, you already know how to put this Logitech shifter into reverse (push down, all the way to the right, then pull back). Sometimes you'll end up in third when you really want fifth depending on how "aggressively" you're playing, but ... MoreGetting the Logitech shifter is entirely worth it! I absolutely recommend adding this shifter to your racing setup! Even if you can't drive stick, this will help you learn!
I love Logitech products. All of them really. I even like the G920 wheel and pedals.BUT…!!This shifter is cheap fr. After just a couple of days the top feels like it wants to come off. And that’s just cosmetic. But this shifter misses gears quite often, and Ik how to work stick shift lol.Main gripe is definitely the push down to reverse. That’s just laziness and over time it will cause a failure. And when it does fail I won’t buy another. My next setup will probably be thrustmaster. But if you have a Logitech wheel then I guess I would recommend this shifter to you.Logitech please don’t cut corners on these little details. Or at least make a newer wheel and shifter and handbrake specifically for drifters.
Obviously this is just a simple shifter compared to the other kinds out there. No fancy bells and whistles. Just a shifter. That's it. You want a fancy one then look elsewhere. If you play ETS 2, ATS, or similar and you are just a regular person who doesn't need anything fancy then get this. its perfect for the average player. I LOVE this shifter cause its so simple and ez to use and setup. It just works. The construction is solid. It shifts smooth like butter imo. The clamping system is super sturdy and ez to use also. When its fully clamped to your desk or mounting plate it doesn't move around or anything.
Pros: There is no better alternative for the price! Regardless of its issues, the price means that it's a solid buy for that extra but if immersion. The shifter is (of course) compatible with my g2920 wheel and pedals and is super easy to set up. It was instantly recognised in my games and easy to configure. The desk clamp is solid and easy to use, and this is also compatible with a number of rigs for more perminant install. In regards to it's usage, simply, it works. It might not have the features or the feel of its competitors, it is in most cases a quarter of the price at least, and so for the money, there are none better.Cons: While little more can be expected at the price range, the feel of this shifter isn't great. The throw is very short, which is fine, but paired with the minimal feel, it can lead to some frustrations. On a number of occasions I was forced to reselect a gear mid corner or while accelerating as I had a false neutral. While the occurrence of this has decreased over time as I got used to the shifter, sometimes it does just seem to be that the shifter refuses to recognise the gear you select regardless of the quality of the users shift. The shifter also has a very tight box, and so mis-shifts are somewhat frequent. I have had more than one race ruined by selecting 2nd rather than 4th, followed by a bang and black smoke in the rear view mirror... Whilst sure this is primarily user error, the overall lack of shifter feel does contribute to this. Considering this shifter is likely to be someone's first use of a H pattern in a racing SIM, it could put some off. However I would advise to stick with it. Once you get used to it, it really does help add to the immersion (and if nothing else acts as a great excuse...)Finally the shifter has only one use as a H pattern. Unlike some alternatives, you cannot use this as a sequential shifter. However again, at the price you cannot argue too much about that. Overall this is a budget piece of equipment and is more than adequate for a casual racer or someone on a budget. I am certainly happy with it at the price for my first shifter, though likely I will upgrade it in the future. P.S. push down on the stick and select "6th" for reverse...
Bought this to use with a Logitech G920 wheel. Easy to attach to wheel and is plug and play.Downsides, not very good quality, feels very cheap. When using it’s like driving a car with a worn out gearbox! No positivity to the gear changes, very hit and miss. It has a push down to engage reverse which doesn’t work. It just goes into reverse half the time when trying to engage 6th gear. All in all not really up to the job.
Never had a shifter. Just got into driving wheel and right when I pull this out of the box, the silver gear cap on top of the stick fell off. Really bad start. It snaps back on easily but is not really flush. The stick works great with any game. Very strong clamps. Easy 'plug and play' setup with Logitech G923 and seamless conection through Logitech software hub. Very light throw, kinda scared im gonna break it. Great entry level stick. However, this is much below Logitechs standards in terms of quality. Needs a refresh, and needs to be included with the wheel. Especially if its going to be falling apart out the box.Would I buy it again?Yes the shifter is necessary and I feel pinned as a new simulation driver due to my lack of education for compatible ... MoreNever had a shifter. It's worth buying for sure. It's really not that bad but feels as though it should have been included with the wheel and pedals like a toy is included with your happy meal. Charging extra for mandatory toys is a recipe for an unhappy meal.
Firstly, this thing has no reverse gear. It is just a 6 speed with no reverse. Technically you could remap it to be a 5 speed with a reverse, but for racing games you will usually have 6 speed so this is a pain in the butt. You have to use the paddle shifters to go into reverse which is a major oversight with this. The positives however, the shifter feels nice, the pattern is tight, and locks into gear well, but i will say the shifter is pretty short.
