used to get razer gear but a friend told me to try logitech boards as I already had some gear so I got a new key board and mouse and never looked back. I have 1 gaming board put away as a spare and this is my 3rd board the first gied from gamer rage lol. These are easy to use and configure to yr liking, this 1 is better than my last one and this one is the basic gaming one I think. You get bang for yr buck and they are reasonbly priced, got this as I was tight on money, now I can save up and buy the the best one, but thats relative to the person using it I surpose. worth every cent plus some.

A very sturdy if somewhat heavy keyboard, with excellent tactile feedback.Very nice LED backlighting of keys, however it annoyingly does not remember which colour the user has chosen after the computer reboots or comes out of hibernate mode (at least with this users' tried and trusted Windows 7 OS).The method to restore the user's preferred colour is also clumsy; instead of a dedicated key to do this it requires the user to hold the "light bulb" key while simultaneously pressing the 0 key until the preferred colour appears, which remains in effect only until the next reboot or hibernation cycle.

In the past I've always used basic keyboards and never really gave any thought to whether they were any good at gaming or not. After upgrading my computer recently I decided to try a gaming keyboard but didn't want to spend the amount of money that a true mechanical keyboard costs. So I went with the G213 and I like it very much. Not just for gaming but for general typing as well. The keys feel better than my old keyboard (Logitech K200) and they make about the same amount of noise. I also like the software that comes with it that allows me to set which keys to deactivate during gaming when game mode is activated. It also allows me to set different functions to the F keys depending on what game/application is active. It also allows me to set different functions to the F keys depending on what game/application is active. It also has a higher polling rate than standard keyboards so it is more responsive to key presses. The lighting is nice but some people may not like that you can't individually set each key's color. There are different zones on the keyboard that can have their color changed though. I just keep all the keys set to a medium gray color because I just want the keys lit up enough to see in both the day and at night time without being too bright.Only downside to this keyboard is that the wrist rest is not removable. It adds about two and a quarter inches of bulk to the keyboard that just isn't needed. It wouldn't be so bad if it actually functioned well as a wrist rest but the way it is designed I would probably get carpal tunnel from the way it would bend my wrists if I were to actually rest them on it.Overall though the good far outweigh the bad with this keyboard. So far I haven't had any problems with it and I would recommend it to anyone looking for something a little better than a basic keyboard.
It is my first experience with a Logitech keyboard and I am considering selling it after 24 hours:- it makes a lot of noise,- IT refuses to install the Logitech gaming app on my work laptop to stop this rainbow effect so I am stuck with it (there is a button on the keyboard but it regularly returns to this rainbow effect even when I select a color),- one key does not respond well and needs to be pressed hard,- the key travel is impressive when not used to it (after one day, I can feel my finger muscle being a bit tired to press buttons all way down).I came to see if these problems were caught by other customers in the comments and it seems that a significant number of customers are complaining about the same things...Positive:- it looks nice- it's heavy ... MoreIt is my first experience with a Logitech keyboard and I am considering selling it after 24 hours:- it makes a lot of noise,- IT refuses to install the Logitech gaming app on my work laptop to stop this rainbow effect so I am stuck with it (there is a button on the keyboard but it regularly returns to this rainbow effect even when I select a color),- one key does not respond well and needs to be pressed hard,- the key travel is impressive when not used to it (after one day, I can feel my finger muscle being a bit tired to press buttons all way down).I came to see if these problems were caught by other customers in the comments and it seems that a significant number of customers are complaining about the same things...Positive:- it looks nice- it's heavy (doesn't move at all, even when there's a large pad in the middle under it)- it looks really nice (bis)
Not a bad keyboard. It's comfortable to use, and the keys feel nice when typing. I can map the F numbers to various programs or create macros, which is important to me. I have two small gripes. The keys, when illuminated, look great when looking directly down, but sit back and relax so you are viewing the keyboard at an angle, and the lighting is uneven, making the letters and numbers look worn. For example, as i type, the 'T' key is bright on the top edges of the top bar of the 'T', the rest is darker. Changing colours and brightness doesn't help. Second gripe, the Num lock, Caps lock, Scroll lock, and Game mode indicator lights are a very bright white, too bright for my liking. Some dark cellophane, cut to size, has lessened the retinal burns.
I will preface this review by saying that I am NOT a PC gamer (unless you count the occasional game of solitaire or Candy Crush), so that is not what I purchased this keyboard for. I work from home doing medical and legal transcription, so I purchased it mainly for work purposes. I spend a good 10-12 hours per day typing, so I need a comfortable, ergonomically friendly keyboard with a good design. I am pretty rough on my keyboards, so I didn't want to spend a small fortune for a new one since I tend to replace them about once every 1-2 years. I saw this keyboard on display at Target and I immediately fell in love with its comfort, design, and ease of use. Logitech has been my #1 brand of choice for keyboards and mice for many years now. I saw this keyboard on display at Target and I immediately fell in love with its comfort, design, and ease of use. Logitech has been my #1 brand of choice for keyboards and mice for many years now. Their products have always been very reliable have never once let me down. When I first saw this keyboard, I fully expected it to be far more expensive than it actually was (I really thought that it would in the $80-100 range), so I was very pleasantly surprised when I saw the $39.99 price tag and immediately grabbed one to take home. This keyboard allows me to keep up with my typing speed and it does not strain my wrists at all, which is always a concern of mine when shopping for a new keyboard. The last thing I need is carpal tunnel! It is the perfect size and I love how the keys light up in all different colors. It looks awesome on my desk and it can be very helpful for late night typing. Since I'm not a gamer, I cannot comment on its gaming performance, but for everyday use, this is a perfect keyboard at a great price. You definitely get some great features for the money (I love the media controls). I would definitely buy this keyboard again. In fact, I have just ordered one for my husband, who is a gamer. Overall, I am very happy with the Logitech G213 Prodigy. I have absolutely no complaints and highly recommend it!
I liked the one we ordered for spouses computer well enough to order a second one for mine. We are using Windows 7 and the Logitech web site claims that it is supported. However, that isn't quite true: Loading that software shows that one of the drivers in the package is not certified by M$. On one machine this hasn't been a problem but the other fails to enter and exit sleep properly. Without the software you can use the volume controls but cannot effect the color of the backlighting or control CD playback of the Windows media player. Further, I don't think game mode works without the software. For this I've deducted a star from the ratings - Logitech writes bloated software which is often badly managed. The keyboard itself is very good. The backlighting is a plus and the legends on the keys are such that they should never ware off.
Have had this keyboard for a while now for day to office work, input fields etc... and it's a delight to use. It's a wired keyboard, so no faff with wireless stuff. Keyes are soft and extremely quiet, almost like a cushioned feel. It lights up, which is an added bonus. I've just stuck with plain old white but it's nice to have the option for colours. Has everything I need, including a number pad. The wrist rest is just plastic so might want to get yourself a little keyboard cushion/pillow for some added comfort.
However, a couple issues mentioned in other reviews are definitely noteworthy. First, it squeals when colors are on. The brighter the color, the higher the squeal. As such, the default color-changing mode is intolerable, with its slowly pulsing screech. This DOES seem to be related to interference, likely from my cheap USB speaker/sub setup. Nonetheless, I would not have thought that buying a keyboard required any sort of checking to make sure the keyboard wouldn't scream like an angry cat. I don't actually care about the backlight, so I turned the light off and have it set to be very dim if I do turn it on periodically. Second, the caps/num/scroll/game-mode lock indicator lights are pointlessly bright. Second, the caps/num/scroll/game-mode lock indicator lights are pointlessly bright. I did not even realize they had names under them until re-reading a review that mentioned it. It's like having a penlight staring you in the face for each one. I will be finding something to paint or cover those up to dim the brightness. Third, my own complaint - I wish that the F and J keys had slightly more pronounced bumps to indicate home row placement. But, I expect I'll adjust to that. Despite those complaints, this should work for my purposes - very light gaming and plenty of typing. It replaced a 12-year-old Saitek Eclipse that finally started to have a couple common keys seize up. The G213 is not particularly loud, there aren't a bunch of unnecessary keys added onto it, and everything is in its proper place. I hate typing on low-profile keyboards and mechanical is too loud for my tastes, so I was glad that Logitech still offers a non-mechanical full-height option.
