The first time I purchased the K400r was maybe 5-6 years ago, and loved it's ease of use, durability and convenience of having a touch pad onboard. While my old and worn device still works, I wanted to replace it wit another so to use the old one as a backup purposes. To my surprise, I've experienced unresolvable issues with the touch pad on the newer factory units. Logitech worked patiently with me and sent me a replacement from the factory, only to be surprised having the same exact issue with that also. The two PCs (older Windows and Linux boxes) have experienced the same unpredictable curser "jumping about the screen" issue. The problem might be that both my PCs use the older USB 2.0 spec. Really would love to know why this touchpad issue is present and a remedy ... MoreThe first time I purchased the K400r was maybe 5-6 years ago, and loved it's ease of use, durability and convenience of having a touch pad onboard. I actually liked the keyboard a lot, my only issue for myself not the item is I use the mouse a whole lot being I work from home. So the pad was not beneficial for me. Some of the function keys where not where I am used to having them at which interfered with my work. Lastly I utilize the F2 button a lot and I had to press the FN button and then the F2 and it was extra steps for me! Spending 8 hrs on a computer working, you try to make it a breeze. But I’m honestly for anyone else this keyboard is compact and good!!

First of all, let me begin by saying that I've purchased this keyboard a second time after spilling coffee on the first one and putting it out of commission. However, I was thinking about buying the second one before the coffee incident because the key labels had worn off. Now that I've put a lot of use with the 2nd one, the key labels on that have also worn off. I am using another Logitech wireless keyboard (K360) with a wireless Logitech trackball connected to my desktop. The key labels on it seem to be more robust than on the K400, although the "E" key is starting to show wear. I would have given this keyboard 5 stars if the key labels weren't so prone to wearing off. I've never had any problems using these keyboards with different computers and other devices ... MoreFirst of all, let me begin by saying that I've purchased this keyboard a second time after spilling coffee on the first one and putting it out of commission. I would have given this keyboard 5 stars if the key labels weren't so prone to wearing off. I've never had any problems using these keyboards with different computers and other devices such as smartphones and tablets.Despite the issues with the K400's key labels, I've purchased another one because I haven't found any other maker of wireless keyboards that has a mouse alternative (like a touchpad) as part of its configuration. Many years ago, I used a keyboard that had a trackball located in the middle right below the space bar. That was a great setup but unfortunately, they don't make it anymore and that's why I'm using the K400. What's nice about this keyboard is how light and compact it is. I have a laptop connected to a big TV in the bedroom and I can operate it using this keyboard while sitting up in bed. As I noted, I've also used it to type on my smartphone by connecting an OTC cable or adapter to it with the wireless receiver (dongle) inserted into its USB jack.Since this won't be my primary keyboard, I expect the key labels to last a lot longer than the previous two. What really makes it worthwhile is the low price given that it essentially functions as both a wireless keyboard and a wireless mouse. Someone complained about the sensitivity of the keyboard which told me that the user was unaware of the Setpoint software that controls the settings for all of the wireless Logitech devices. It's a free program, too. It allows you to have several Logitech devices connected to a single receiver. More importantly, you have several controls for the keyboard that includes assigning different actions to the Fn function keys (the ones that have icons in orange on them) You can also fully control the sensitivity, movement, orientation and action of the touchpad. For example, I used Setpoint to disable the tapping action that mimics a button press on a mouse since I prefer to use the two "mouse keys" under the touchpad instead. I found myself inadvertently producing a "mouse click" every time I put my finger on the touchpad surface, even with the sensitivity turned down. This way, I only use the touchpad to move the cursor and mouse pointer across the screen and leave the selection process to the touchpad keys..I highly recommend buying this keyboard with the caveat about the key labels susceptibility to wear. I would suggest that you wash and dry your hands prior to using the keyboard which will increase the longevity of the key labels. Oh, and don't drink or eat anything while you're using the keyboard since doing so is hazardous to its health.

4/5 well for the price its 5/5, but the trackpad isnt so great as its small, but this isnt my primary keyboard. Ive been gaming from a recliner, lazybt style and rather than get up I can just use this lol, so it does the trick like a tv remote vs buttons on the tv in the wireless aspect, but for a keyboard and main use. Nah please skip. Maybe if you dont type more than stuff youd search for. If youre getting to typing and like speed, this one will slow you down, the shift button feels out of place again not the point for me. I still have my main keyboard wired and my main mouse works while this here reviewed keyboard is active, so in short they can work simultaneously. Theres a power button on the keyboard which is cool, but I point that out so that you dont ... More4/5 well for the price its 5/5, but the trackpad isnt so great as its small, but this isnt my primary keyboard. Theres a power button on the keyboard which is cool, but I point that out so that you dont accidentally hit it, the thing with that is, if you press it, your computer will power down. This wouldnt be great if you have unsaved stuff up is my point. Great stocking stuffer. Since I bought 3 I have a spare. Theyre not heavy duty. Not that you need one to take into battle, seems sturdy enough. I havent dropped it yet, so well see.
I got this keyboard since my office sometimes gets too hot and I have to work downstairs with the extra monitor. this keyboard, like other Logitech products, is easy to set up. It's responsive and portable, something I will take with me when traveling for conferences and work. The mouse takes some getting used to. The compact size is great, but I am used to tying on a full keyboard so the mouse is often oddly close and my hand has to move twice since I expect to drag it out farther. The minor complaint I have is that the dongle needed to connect the keyboard to the laptop has no place to house it. So if you want to travel with it, you have to figure some way to keep the dongle close to the keyboard so you don't lose it forget it. Otherwise a great product
We finally bought a smart tv (Samsung) 11 months ago. Loved it with one exception - having to use the remote to go letter by letter when something needed to be entered was incredibly tedious. Recently, I wanted to watch something that was internet accessible but had a very long string to enter. Way too much work! That got me looking for alternatives.I first attached a wired mouse which allowed me to use the onscreen keyboard more quickly. That improvement spurred me to find a better solution and I definitely found it. I ordered the keyboard and it worked the first time out of the box! Wish I'd ordered it when I first got the tv. Thank you Logitech for such an inexpensive solution to something that is a real pain! The only complaint - the keyboard and mousepad are ... MoreWe finally bought a smart tv (Samsung) 11 months ago. Overall this is a good product but the 3 starts is a a result of the Task View problem. I spoke with an agent for about an hour with no luck. Then I did some research on the internet for about six hours. One user mentioned disabling the swipe gestures (Hold FN and then right click). I still had the Task View trigger problem even when the swipe gesture is disabled. I am returning it unfortunately.FIYMy OS is windows 10
I've tried other wireless/bluetooth keyboards but they were usually smaller than I was comfortable with even though they had backlit keys and were rechargeable. This Logitech keyboard is almost full size and has keys more like "old style" keys with indentations and good action. The media keys are useful and the overall design is comfortable and intuitive. It requires two AA batteries, but I use rechargeable batteries, so the operating cost is minimal. Also, because built-in rechargeable batteries have a limited life expectancy and cannot usually be replaced, I think replaceable batteries are a better idea.
We connected a Lenovo M90n-1 to our television. It came with a wireless keyboard and mouse but the mouse kept falling on the floor making it a hassle to use. I went looking online for a wireless keyboard with a touchpad and found the Logitech K400 Plus. What an IMPROVEMENT!! Easy to use, set up was done by just plugging in the USB dongle and it works GREAT! Just like using a laptop. I have had Logitech keyboards and mice before. They worked very well and this product has the same top quality. This keyboard was specifically designed for using with a computer connected to a television so it was made for our exact needs. We couldn't be happier with this product.
i love how long the batteries last in this thing (probably 18 months) and how durable it is. its quite possibly the best keyboard touchpad combo on the market. the only downside is the strange swiping shortcut that it has built in. swiping to the right anywhere near the left side brings up the Task View pane to change virtual desktops. really annoying. it has a key combination shortcut to disable it, but when you turn the keyboard off and on again it just re-enables it. really dumb design feature. other than that it's perfect.
