A well designed productivity mouse

Previously for the last 10 years or so, I have been using a wired trackball mouse. This has been very ergonomical but over the years, I have noticed that my productivity has been hampered by only having the right and left click buttons with the trackball in the middle. In the last couple of months, I have been on the lookout for a new mouse and I have been considering a wireless mouse too. However, having not really used one before I did have reservations with how reliable the connection is and the battery life. Having checked out the computer desk set-ups from different people (via Youtube - plenty of reviews and seeing it in action), it seems that the Logitech MX Master 3 is the popular choice for many people who like productivity, and its comfort-use design. As such, I decided to go for it. I used this mouse for around 3 weeks now and I have to say the experience has been great. The reservations I originally had has not materialised, the connection via the enclosed wifi dongle has been stable with no lagging, even when I turn off the mouse and quickly turn-it-back-on, the pointer appears on screen / connection establishes in less than a second and immediately usable. It took roughly 3 hours to fully charge it and even now, the battery is shown to be full via the Logitech software (there is no indicator on the battery life on the device itself). The different customisable buttons have been very useful, especially the scroll wheels (vertical and horizontal), which I did not have before. Using this mouse to interact with my Windows 10 system is so much easier now. Whilst it is not as large as my previous trackball mouse, it is still large enough that my hand is not cramped over it (compared to a standard mouse), and my hand comfortably rests on top and at a more natural angle. Overall, I cannot believe it has taken me this long to get this and I highly recommend this if you are looking for a productivity mouse.

Don't waste your money on this -- it's the same exact mouse as the non-Mac version, but it doesn't have a dongle, so you're stuck using Bluetooth which is a less reliable connection. As a mouse, it's great! I think I've owned every other version of the MX Master mice, and this is a step up from the last.I was initially concerned that the quieter clicking buttons would feel mushy or soft, but they don't. It's less tactile than before, but you still have tactile feedback when you click and it's a lot quieter now.

Excellent refinement on a great mouse!

Found this while browsing at Micro Center, and it was an instant must buy. The only thing that made me hesitate at all was the new "silent" left/right buttons. It turns out, they are actually fine, they still have a very tactile click, but not the noise. Pretty cool. The software works pretty well, although I was still not able to use the upper roller for zoom on MacOS.The only other quirk I had was that this mouse, for me anyways, does not work nearly as well on bluetooth, as I does on the Bolt receiver (2021 iMac 24" w/M1). Much more responsive and smooth on the Bolt, for sure. Definitely recommended! *This review is for the MX Master 3S for Mac.

Incredible mouse
10 November 2022

After using this mouse for 10 days I can say this is the best mouse I've used to date. It took me almost 3 days to get used to all the keys and how they work and the scroll wheel is the best I've used in the mouse even though some of the gaming mice can't match the scroll smooth level.Silent clicking is great during the zoom/team call because I don't want others to hear me clicking around.I've noticed after 10 days that the battery level is still 93% which looks like it might last more than 70 days for me which is great. Just for the experience, you'll not be disappointed with this mouse.

Logitech MX Master 3S Review
20 October 2022

Having been a massive Logitech fan for many years, I have always kept up to date with their latest tech. Naturally I was extremely eager to see what the MX Master 3S was all about. After using it for a little while, I could tell this was going to be a massive hit! Overall the mouse is extremely satisfying to use, its ergonomic design makes it feel a part of your hand, and its silent clicking works remarkably. I love that you can pair multiple devices and switch between with a press of a button, and the battery life is awesome. Would highly recommend this to anyone!

My favorite mouse in the world.
27 August 2021

I got my first (and still functioning!) MX Master 2S when it first came out. I continue to love it. Back then it was $80-99. Now that the 3 has been released, the 2S can be had for half the price, but it's still an amazing mouse. While I would like to compare them side-by-side I can't imagine the 3 being more than an iterative improvement (if that). Now is definitely the time to pick up a 2S. Tons of speed and response, a nice heavy weight, high DPI... Tons of accuracy, response, and intuitive feedback. The ratcheting lock/free scroll is genius. Works great for productivity and gaming. Rechargeable AND it continues to work WHILE it's charging. There's really no downside and now for a much cheaper price. Do it.

My way or the highway hand position, otherwise great
3 December 2022

This mouse has many great features from its high build quality to highly customizable programmable buttons. I love the side scroll wheel. But the shape will tell your hand what to do, and you have to either love it or hate it. For me, it feels like my hand is climbing the side of a mountain, forcing more weight onto my wrist. I have average sized hands and can only reach the back of the scroll wheel. It's tilted at a slight angle which is a bad halfway point between a traditional and vertical mouse. This forces all the weight onto my wrist bone. Either give me a regular mouse where the weight can be spread over my whole wrist or a vertical mouse with the weight on the side of my hand. While it's workable, I'd prefer something like the Magic Mouse that's slim and ... MoreThis mouse has many great features from its high build quality to highly customizable programmable buttons. This mouse is crazy! There's a lot of points to consider why this is "The" best mouse on the planet: 1) design - the way it fits my hand and placement of buttons is very ergonomic. The texture also has a great feel to it like premium rubbery plastic so it latches to your hand comfortably. The feedback on the scroll wheel also has a nice feel to it especially if you pull fast enough to put it to "auto" mode! And the looks on this mouse - like a premium sports car, reminds me of a Lambo! 2) functionality - the scroll wheel can scroll continuously either via switch or if you scroll it quick enough. I hate reading manuals and would not find out about the "Gesture" button if I had not installed the software Logitech Options. 3) built-in battery, this one lasts 70 days in one full charge! 4) multi-device ability, there is a button underneath the mouse to switch between three devices, and you can either connect via Bluetooth or the dongle (you need to install "Unifying software" to use the dongle) 5) weight - it is not too light nor too heavy, perfect for day-to-day work and some photo editing, do not play games anymore but I reckon this is perfect as well 6) Accuracy - this mouse is very sensitive and accurate, never skipped a beat even when I was not using mouse pad. The motion is also very fluid, never got stuck in my mouse pad. Quite on the premium price for a mouse but it is very well worth it!

Scroll wheel and clicker let’s it down.
21 January 2023

The scroll wheel constantly cuts out, especially when scrolling slowly. No amounts of adjusting settings would fix it. Maybe mine is faulty.. but there are others reporting the same problem. My cheaper basic mouse outperforms this which is disappointing. The clicking feels unnatural due to the sound dampening which might not bother everyone. However on the positive, it managed to glide over all surfaces I’ve tested it on so that’s good and it changes connection quite seamlessly between my Mac and pc.

Works great on mac

All the features of this mouse work as advertised. The Logi Options + software works really well on my Mac Mini with Monterey 12.6. I have the mouse paired with 3 devices and it switches seamlessly between them with a push of a button. The Logi Options + software makes it easy to program the buttons individually for various programs. This mouse is comfy to use and charges really fast. I recommend it for Mac, iOS and PC.
