Really awesome speakers for the price. Thoroughly impressed. I haven't even tried the highest bass level in fear of pissing my neighbours off. Highest I've gone is half bass, half volume lol. Volume and bass knobs are a god send. Really redemptive quality of the product. Setup was extremely straight forward, took about 10 minutes to do. Virtually plug and play. No bluetooth connectivtiy but frankly this wasn't a priority at all. Aux out from the right speaker aswell as from the sub itself making it perfect for a variety of setups, gives you the versatility to play music from your phone or directly out of your desktop if that is your desire. With the way that it is, this would be an extremely agile setup that I imagine would even be perfect for the odd getty or two. ... MoreReally awesome speakers for the price. Thoroughly impressed. Can hear it echoing and booming through my apartment. Mids don't fully satisfy my tastes, they don't feel deep or rich enough but honestly for a setup with the intention of atleast being able to hear desktop audio without putting my headphones on, I have no genuine complaints. In regards to the mid speaker quality, I wouldn't knock it down in comparison to any equivilant, just a preference for nicer sound. If anything, might even be overthinking it. When you turn the volume up, the shelf speakers are actually pretty bloody loud too. If you want an affordable setup, this is the best you're going to get I reckon. Especially with the RMS that this one provides. Was going to give 4 starts over the mid speakers richness but in all honesty, the fact that the setup meets all of my expectations and needs, I think it's worth the full 5.

The overall audio quality is quite good for this 2.1 speaker set. Although, the bass is a bit too much for my taste, I would actually prefer more mids & highs over the excessive amount of bass that comes from the subwoofer. The 10 inch subwoofer is way more than I really need. I wish this would be made with a 8 inch subwoofer instead. I'm using it in conjunction with my flat screen tv and a digital Yamaha receiver with 2 tower speakers. Connected to an Insignia Optical out adapter to RCA jacks, it works well with my setup. One of these days, hopefully Logitech will develop a 2.1 speaker system with remote control capability. Aside from the excessive bass, I really like and enjoy this speaker set and would recommend it.

This little system performs waaay beyond its price

Im fussy, was a pro musician. Im used to using and hearing top quality amps, pa's and so on. This little Logi setup is perfect for what I need. Computer speakers that sound good close up when using my laptop. They do. I listen to a wide variety of music and they perform well with good clarity and headroom. I don't need amazing clear high definition when working. So.... the bad? The mids can be a bit thin, the bass can be boomy. When pushed the whole sound becomes unpleasant and harsh. That's not why I bought them. Ive plenty of pro gear that will do large venues. They are quality enough to do the job at my desk well. Id buy them again.

Just ordered and set up my second set of these. The first set I ordered back in 2013 and they ran strong with no issues for the decade I owned them. Finally, after years of use, the stress I put on the cables in my wiring finally caused them to short out a bit when messed with. After months of trying different setups and deliberating what direction to go, I finally decided to just get another set of these. The sound and quality is immense, and the price is just too good to pass up. Just got the new speakers set up and I can say that I made the right decision to get another set. I cannot recommend these speakers enough. The build quality, sound, form factor, and price are all superb. I’m assuming, given all of the great reviews here, that I just got part of a bad production run. And these speakers were very bad. Closer to unusable.Higher pitched tones (guitar, female voices) were loud and harsh. Mid tones (male voice) were muted. So, take a music video with a guitar opening and a male singer, the guitar was annoyingly loud. Reduce the volume a bit and the singer was hard to hear.Lower tones (bass guitar or double bass) were a no-show. The desktop speakers couldn’t handle the lower frequencies. Neither could the subwoofer. If you increased the subwoofer volume it would just boom.I did try equalizing these out but that just created other problems with adjacent frequencies and gave up on that pretty quickly. Finally, there was a glitch that ... MoreI’m assuming, given all of the great reviews here, that I just got part of a bad production run. Have no idea what could cause this, but it’s never happened with my two prior speaker systems, and doesn’t happen with two sets of headphones all running from the same port. The only positive part of this was how easy Best Buy made the returns process. And yes, it was returned the same day.

[Rewarded Review] Good speakers; setup was a learning process.

Sound-wise, I would say these speakers are good, maybe even very good, but somewhat short of excellent. After using some very low-end Logitech 2.1 speakers with my PC for a number of years, I guess I was expecting more of a quantum leap in sound quality than what I actually got. They certainly are capable of being played very loud, but the accuracy seems a bit off at the higher volumes. I am still experimenting to find the optimal combination of Windows volume settings and the volume setting on the speaker. As regards the subwoofer, I found I had to turn up the bass control fairly high to get the level of bass I am accustomed to, probably the result of listening to overboosted bass for many years. One lesson I learned the hard way: the cable that connects the subwoofer to the right speaker is NOT a VGA cable, even though the connector is identical. If you intend to place the subwoofer far away from the other two speakers, using a male/female VGA extension cable WILL NOT WORK. You need to get a 15-pin D-sub extension cable made for audio signals, which has a completely different internal structure from VGA video cable. Amphenol makes such a cable and their website has a good article explaining the differences. The Logitech setup guide (which you have to download) compounds the confusion by referring to the connectors as "VGA" even though the cable is not.

This review will highlight the pros and cons of this speaker system, hopefully providing potential buyers with essential information to make an informed decision.Pros:Immersive Sound Experience: The Logitech Z623 delivers a powerful and immersive sound experience. The 2.1 channel system is 330 TOTAL watts, with 130W going to the 7” ported subwoofer and 100W per satellite speaker. This amount of power ensures clear audio and deep, rich bass. I found that the audio quality was quite good whether I was gaming, watching movies, or listening to music.Robust Bass Performance: The subwoofer in this system is outstanding given the price point. It adds depth and intensity to low-frequency sounds, making explosions, music beats, and action sequences come alive. I live in an apartment building and find myself having to turn the bass down quite a bit. For those in my same situation, this is something to be aware of. If you care about your neighbors, turn this down. If not, have a blast as this woofer can easily fill a medium to large room with thumping bass and make your neighbors hate you.Convenient Control and Connectivity: The control pad is one of the more convenient features of the Z623 system. On the right satellite, you have easy access to volume adjustment, power, and bass control. Additionally, the system provides multiple connectivity options, including RCA and 3.5mm inputs, making it compatible with various devices.Sturdy Build Quality: The speakers and subwoofer are well-built and feel solid. The satellite speakers have a sleek design that complements any desktop or entertainment setup. The system is built to last and withstand regular use.Cons:Lack of Wireless Connectivity: One notable drawback of the Logitech Z623 is the absence of wireless connectivity options such as Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. This means you'll need a wired connection to your audio source, which may limit placement options.Satellite Speaker Cable Length: The length of the cables connecting the satellite speakers to the subwoofer may be a bit short for some setups. I recently upgraded to a 63x30 inch desktop and found that I was at the limits of the cable lengths. This is especially prevalent if you plan on cable managing as you can quickly run into issue. It's important to consider the distance between the subwoofer and the satellite speakers to ensure optimal placement and positioning.Lack of Upgradeability: One limitation of the Logitech Z623 is its lack of upgradeability. The connectors used in this system are non-standard, which means you cannot easily replace or upgrade individual components. Furthermore, the subwoofer cannot be used independently without the satellite speakers, limiting your flexibility in configuring or expanding your audio setup.Limited Equalizer Options: While the sound quality of the Z623 is excellent out of the box, some users might desire more customization options. The system lacks advanced equalizer settings, which may restrict audio fine-tuning to personal preferences. This is not a huge issue, as software EQ can get the job done in most cases.Additional Information:Power Requirements: The Logitech Z623 requires a power outlet for operation. Ensure you have a nearby power source available for the subwoofer and speakers.Compatibility: The Z623 is compatible with a wide range of devices, including computers, laptops, gaming consoles, TVs, and DVD players. Ensure that your device has an available RCA or 3.5mm output for connection.Room Size Consideration: The Logitech Z623 is well-suited for medium-sized rooms but may be overkill for smaller spaces. Make sure to consider the size of your room and your desired audio experience when choosing a speaker system. Conclusion:The Logitech Z623 2.1 Speaker System offers an immersive sound experience with powerful bass and convenient controls. While it lacks wireless connectivity and advanced equalizer options, it excels in delivering high-quality audio for gaming, movies, and music. If you're seeking an affordable and reliable 2.1 speaker system for your entertainment setup, the Logitech Z623 is a solid choice.

[Rewarded Review] Surprisingly great sound for such a small system.
30 December 2022

Excellent sound, deep rich bass, and for the $130 price I paid (now $170 1.5 years later) a great value! The only issue was the output cable that connects to my Sony TV started randomly dropping out and I'd lose sound in one speaker. Weirdly, it only affected one speaker at a time, but it happened to both.Luckily it was still under warranty and I contacted Logitech via online chat. After purchase verification (photos of system info and Best Buy receipt) and verification I'd done all their troubleshooting steps, they sent the info on and a few days later a replacement system was approved.I was told I might have to send the original system back, so thankfully I'd kept all of the original packaging. After another several days, the new system shipped out, and I ... MoreExcellent sound, deep rich bass, and for the $130 price I paid (now $170 1.5 years later) a great value! The only issue was the output cable that connects to my Sony TV started randomly dropping out and I'd lose sound in one speaker. I didn't have to send the defective system back.Overall, it took less than three weeks from initial contact to the new system arriving at my house.More than a month later, and the replacement has been working with no problems. Kudos to the customer support experience.FYI - This system passes my Inception test. I saw the move in a full IMAX theater (Udvar-Hazy Smithsonian) and the deep bass can't be replicated in regular theaters, by tv speakers, or most small systems. The Z623 let's you feel the bass as the director intended.
