L'Oréal Paris Revitalift Filler Retinol Night Serum, 30 ml

[This review was collected as part of a promotion. ] My key skincare concerns are pigmentation, breakouts and acne scarring, and the one skincare ingredient that seems to work efficiently on all - without causing further breakouts, is retinol - so I was excited to try this L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Laser X3 Pure Retinol Night Serum to the test. It claims to contain a potent concentration serum of pure retinol, with 0. 2% pure retinol, and the packaging gives clear advice on how to use to get the skin used to it to minimise irritation. Often drugstore brands, or even more luxe department store brands, do not mention % strength of ingredients, so the mere mention if the 0. 2% concentration is a bonus, and great for consumers so you actually know what you are purchasing. Now I have used retinol and retinals for a long time, incl highest straight via script - a fair bit stronger than this one, so I jumped right in to use nightly, and without any issues. The actual serum has a light, milky, opaque texture and absorbs quickly without greasiness, but instantly leaving the skin feeling silky soft and smooth. It is advised to follow with the L’Oréal Laser Night Moisturiser, but I followed with my usual night cream from another brand. After a few days of using - I started missing the effects of my usual higher strength retinol serum - so I switched back to using that one, and using this L’Oreal one on my decollate instead, where I’ve been usable to use the higher strength one due to irritations. My decollate has not tolerated the higher strength one bears signs of ageing, with lines, wrinkles and pigmentation. And while I didn’t see any effects on my face, after a few days, after a week or so, I did notice the skin appearing more soft and supple. I am yet to notice any major improvements in both lines and wrinkles as well as pigmentation, but overall, the skin is clearly looking more healthy, so overall I am quite happy with it and will continue to use, and hope to see further results as time goes by. It comes in a heavy duty glass bottle, with a dropper that makes it super easy to dispose just the amount of product needed without any wastage. My only negative about this serum is the fragrance - personally I love the sensory experience of beautifully scented products, but unfortunately, while smelling nice, I find this one to be a tad too strongly scented, and that is very rare for me to say something it too strongly scented. Yes, it does fade a bit after applying it, but the scent still lingers on the skin for quite some time, to the point of my scent-sensitive husband commenting in bed at night, that it was ‘twitching his nose’! Overall, this is a lovely serum, with a lovely texture and feel, and it would be perfect for those who are either just starting out their retinol journey, or have more sensitive skin. I have so many favourites from the L’Oréal range, and love how accessible they are, and that they are often available at great prices too. Again, my face is used to a higher strength retinol, but I’ve quite enjoyed using it on my decollate, and if it wasn’t for the strong fragrance, I’d without a doubt consider purchasing again. Please L’Oréal, consider introducing more subtly fragranced or even fragrance-free alternatives!

Amazing retinol serum!

I started using L'Oreal Paris Retinol Serum and my skin has gotten so much better. The retinol serum really helped with smoothing my fine lines especially around the under eye and cheek area. Initially I did hav e few issues around the second week of use with my skin drying out causing flakiness and quite a bit of redness. Felt very tingly so I stopped using the serum for few days while my skin healed. I began using the retinol serum every other day and noticed my skin had become smoother and glowy especially around forehead and cheek area. The serum is fragrance free and not sticky. I really enjoyed using and will continue using it in the future. Very happy with this retinol serum!

Gentle Retinol

I have been using the L'Oreal Paris Revitalift Laser Pure Retinol Deep Wrinkle Night Serum for over four months. It comes in a striking metallic blue glass bottle with a pipette dispenser. The liquid is a gluggy milky white.When I first started using this retinol I eased in to it by first using it twice a week, then every second day before using it nightly. Other than having a mild reaction which I believe was due to taking too long to moisturise after application of the retinol or more likely dispensing too much, and a couple of pimples, I have had no problems with using this product. Great Combination

L'Oréal serums (day/night)

I loved reviewing these two serums, they even came on holidays with me! I noticed results fairly quickly from the Vitamin C (day) serum, my skin definitely looked brighter and more awake in the mornings, I didn'tnoticea masive difference in my pore size however. The Retinol (night) serum was sometimes hard to dispense but by the end of the 4 weeks fine lines around my eyes seemed to have reduced slightly. By around day 5 of the trial I experienced a little bit of irritation and redness under my eyes and on my forehead this occured again towards the end of my review time; and other skin care products that were previously ok seemed to feel a bit tingly during usage. Love the smell

First of all, I would like to start off by saying that I really appreciate the bottle with the dropper. It just makes the application process a tad bit easier.The consistency of the product itself is good and doesn’t feel like it’s watered down. The smell is so nice and makes me feel relaxed which is ideal in preparing you for bed.As soon as I put this product on my face, my skin feels so smooth and soft. My skin loves it.After using it for over six weeks, I definitely saw a reduction of my fine lines that were around my smile lines, in between my eyebrows and under my eyes.I definitely recommend this product and looking forward to purchasing more.

Not for all skin types

Pleasant aroma. Followed instructions to introduce my skin to retinol.Had to stop using after 3 weeks.The Retinol must be very strong. I didn’t think it would cause such a reaction to my skin. After 2 weeks of use I noticed a dark pigmented patch below my eye. Some areas of my face had really dry and peeling skin which I had never experienced before. After I cleansed my face in the evenings, the skin felt tight, dry and uncomfortable. I wonder if the aim of the serum is to tighten skin to remove the signs of wrinkles? I decided to stop using the night serum and apply a rich moisturiser to try to rehydrate it and soften the peeling skin. I wasn’t able to cover it up with makeup as the dry skin absorbed the foundation and looked even more patchy.Applying my ... MorePleasant aroma. I started using the Revitalift 0.2% Pure Retinol on alternate nights. This was because I felt like my skin needed a little more adjustment to this concentration. The mornings after this application, my skin felt very smooth and refined. In combination with the vitamin C serum, the smoothness really emphasised that my fine lines were really reduced, with just four weeks of use. I thought that the floral fragrance was just a bit too strong for my liking. I think it would be nicer with less fragrance. Overall, I think these two serums are a great combination to use, especially for someone with fine wrinkles who would like to achieve smoother skin. I will have to use it longer to observe any deep wrinkle success. I recently tried both of these serums and want to share my honest review. I applied Vitamin c serum twice a daily after cleansing and it felt comfortable on my skin. It is lightweight and has a watery light orange colour texture. On the other hand, when i applied Retinol serum at night for the first time, you can't believe it burnt my face and I left with black patches on my skin. My skin became red, super dry and burnt. After a few days my skin started peeling off. It takes me 2-3 weeks to heal that burnt part. I have a combination skin and i never get any skin allergy from any of the products i used, but sadly this serum burnt my whole face. I will not recommended this Retinol serum to anyone, specially to the people who has sensitive skin. I bought this retinol serum because it has great reviews and I used retinol before but I was a little nervous when i tried this one since it says that is a high percent, which is 3%. So I gave it a try and followed instructions just like it says in the box (first week use 2 times in a week, second week use every other day and third week, use every day as tolerated). first time using it inwas okay but the second time I use it, I noticed a small rash in the jaw line and eyebrow area on the right side of my face but it was there that my face has to get use to it so it's normal.
