Cons: a bit confusing to assemble but not many pieces overall...took under 20 min. Tough to fit into a non-SUV trunk although I can just squeeze it into my 4 door sedan.Pros: high quality and durable. Worth every penny. Wide range of pitching distances and speeds. Once you get desired setting/speed/distance it hits it's mark with incredible reliability and consistency.Overall: buy this item if you're like me and are bad at pitching a consistent and reliable batting practice. Provides a very safe and consistent way to build confidence in a players swing at a higher velicoty of pitches a typical youth coach would throw. Throws from a young players eye height vs a tall coach throwing down at hitter. I rarely write reviews but this product exceeded my expectations. Not sure of long term durability over multiple seasons but it's build very well and i have no concerns here.Note: for some reason it was like $40 more in the store so order online and do store pick-up!

I was so surprised that I have enjoyed this purchase. I only purchased it because it was endorsed by the little league organizations and I thought it may do while i was waiting to save up for a far more expensive machine.Instead, I will not have to buy that more expensive machine. The kids from ages 8-14 have learned to use it on their own and now are enjoying far more productive play and practice sessions out in the yard.It is easy to load and simple to operate. Much simpler than similar trap shooting devices which rely on similar spring and lever systems.

This is the second blue flame pitching machine I’ve bought. The first was for my son when he was 6 years old playing single A baseball and the second just purchased for Christmas for my grandson. Wish I could have had a crystal ball all those years ago and I would’ve held on to it but definitely was a must have for kids just learning how to see a live pitch. Worth every penny.

I had been debating for a year about getting one of these to help my daughter with batting practice. I wish I would have done it the first time I thought about it. Great product. I can't consistently throw the balls across the plate, especially at the speeds she sees in softball. This product consistently throws the balls across the plate, but not with lazer-beam precision. I like that the balls pass through ~2' diameter area. She isn't swinging at EXACTLY the same pitch each time. But, at the same time, it's consistent enough that "nearly" all the balls are in the strike zone. She's made so much improvement over what she did when I was trying to pitch to her.
It works great...gives our pitcher a break and coach for pop flies. The bolts on the handle were too tight and needed the cover added. Tried for a long time and could only get 1 bolt off. So cover is attached w 1 and the handle doesn't line up perfectly w the stopper. We have to wiggle it over, still for $150 great machine
The quality of the pitches depends on the balls loaded. Specifically, the weight. Some pitches too high, some too low. It’s inconsistent. However, so is the pitching in Minor leagues. Great for pop ups, line drives and grounders. Consistently getting a good pitch across the plate and in the zone is iffy. Probably 30% are good pitches. If you want consistent, in the zone pitches, spend the money on a high quality, electric machine. You’ll also need a generator and extension cord.
Absolutely love this! Even though one piece was put together backwards by the manufacturer. Was easy to put together except I didn't have the 2 wrenches it required so I got stuck and had to wait for someone to help me. It is a bit heavy though but worth it! I'm a single mom, busy with a full time job, helping my daughter get better for her baseball games. Love that you can adjust the speed, and her older friends who've been playing also loved it and had fun hitting the ground balls. I'm not a sporty person at all and my pitches are all underhand, so this is a lifesaver for me! I can be a part of helping her practice now
I use this solely to throw a ball for my dog. After I figured out how to put it together correctly (it came assembled wrong), I was extremely pleased with my purchase. Worth every dollar for me. I had developed a problem with my hand that made me stop using the "Chuck It (R)" brand throwing stick -- which up to then had been perfect. Now my retriever is getting his exercise again! Assembly: It came partially assembled -- incorrectly! Until I *disassembled* it and re-assembled it correctly, there was no way it would have gone together. I had to examine the instructions over and over, to figure out that the diagram did not match how the parts had arrived. The diagram was correct. Look at the diagram carefully before you start assembling. Maybe it was packed for ... MoreI use this solely to throw a ball for my dog. As a former mlb player I have to say Louisville slugger nailed this one. I have 2-8yr old grandchildren and a 4yr old as well, all boys and they love this thing. Once set up to throw strikes, which only takes a minute or two, just about anyone can use it. No electricity needed and light and small enough to fit in just about any trunk. Great for younger kids who are just learning the game. Great for parents who have trouble throwing consistent strikes. I throw tennis balls with it at about 80% strikes, their not afraid of getting hit and tennis balls are less likely to break a window.
