I have the Lowa GTX low model, which are a fantastic boot for day hikes in rugged terrain. Love the colour and quality. The fit, however, is somehow a bit off for me (also find them difficult to lace us snuggly). So when I saw this new model I pounced. Slightly less rugged model, but still probably fine for day hikes. The Locarno GTX LO shoes are making my feet happy. Comfortable out of the box, they accommodate my insoles without problem. So far they have held up well to rain. I however am worried about how hot they will be in the summer rain stormâŚ.As far as sizing, I wear 9 in Saucony, and found myself somewhere between an 8 and 8,5 with those LOWA. I ended up keeping the 8 because the shoes are wider at the back of the heel, and the bigger size was permitting my rather slender feet to move up and down, even when the laces were well adjusted.

I love these shoes. They're very stable with great torsional firmness and good on all kinds of steep and uneven terrain. No slipping on steep wet grass. The forefoot is roomy and the heel comfortably cupped. Lacing system allows good fit around ankle. A bit under cushioned in front; I may try them with a different insole.

I bought these shoes for my wife to enjoy our trail walk behind our house that borders the lâAcadie river. Her remarks confirm what we expected. Super comfortable and a great fit! For an all around trail walk including the pavement too, the Locarno GTX LO Shoes are justifiably worth the money!
I love these shoes they are very comfortable. The wide fit leaves plenty of room for thicker walking socks. Would like it if these came in a black or tan colour.
My wife has been searching for a good walking shoe that fit, a difficult task for her as she has a hard time finding shoes and boots. This shoe was perfect! After some in-house testing, the shoe was fitting very well. After three walks/hikes, she is very happy with these shoes.Kudos to Lowa, this shoe is very well-made. The attention to detail and build quality is great. Fit is right on. Nice support while walking, both in-town and on the trail. A definite recommend!
Ordered these for day hikes where the terrain is still rugged but not overly technical. I have Lowa Vantage boots which they don't make anymore that I use for more steep and technical hikes with a backpack and needed something lighter. These are a great option. Fit perfectly and were comfortable as soon as I tried them on. Note: Lowa seems to make shoes/boots that are slightly wider than other footwear brands. Fits true to size. I'm typically 8 in most footwear and an 8 was perfect. Highly recommend these and any Lowa products.
I like the look of these shoes, they don't look as rugged as a hiking boot and could be worn more casually too. I sized down (usually a 9.5 and ordered a 9). One foot feels fairly comfortable, the other irritates the top of my foot. It feels like the tongue is stiff. I don't know if this would loosen up over time. I also find my heels slip out a bit. Not quite the right fit for me. I will likely return them.
I am hopeful these shoes will prove to be an excellent purchase. Comfortable with support and so far not rubbing on my bunions. Nice colour ans soft material.
These shoes are very comfortable, true to size. I have a pair of Lowa Renegade hiking boots and needed a lighter version for hiking and everyday walking / traveling. These shoes are perfect, they look stylish to walk around city and great for light hiking.
