Does the basic function well, and materials are good quality. However the compartment configuration is somehow limited by the sizes of the provided dividers and available Velcro attachment areas, and I still have trouble fitting two bodies (one with vertical grip) with lens in nicely, even though there is clearly enough space for them.

Had initially bought one via Amazon for a lower price. Zipper fell apart after first use. Returned it and bought this one over CameraNU.nl. I have to say this one is 100% better value and CameraNU.nl's price for this one matched what was available on Amazon etc...

I really wanted to love it because looks really nice, but eventually decided to return it. Several factors of the backpack have lead me to do so, including 1) complete lack of small pockets that can be used to hold small items such as lens cap or a memory card, 2) dividers are flimsy and cannot effectively divide, 3) only a narrow strip of felt is found at the bottom of the main compartment, making it very difficult to reorganize the space to fit my needs; 4) the flap over the side access opening is too soft to be protective of whatever you put in there. Got his bag specifically for when I'm out on a shoot and I can't bring my main gear case. I put everything I need to carry with me to a location. This also acts as my travel bag for when I can't fit all of my gear in my main case.
I was gifted a 1D Mark IV and felt the need to get a better bag. Perfectly holds my 1D, 70-200 2.8, 50 1.4, flash, and other odds and ends. I initially got the 300 but it couldn't hold everything. My gear definitely feels safe and the dividers are sturdy. My only complaint is that I wish the hip belt was detachable. I also don't use the side opening so I wouldn't mind another spot to hold water or tripod.
I use battery grips on my Sony cameras and they fit in this bag really well. I can also get my 200-600 in here with a few other lenses and accessories. There is a removable zipper divider pouch inside that's good for holding spare batteries or other smaller accessories. It is comfortable to wear for linger periods with the chest and hip straps. The materials are great quality and the front of the bag has 2 hard molded pieces at top and bottom so you can place the bag down with some support and help protect the full front of the bag. Includes a rain cover as well. And one more thing is that it stands up nicely on its own.

Where the model II has two reasonably sized side pockets, the III has eliminated one of them in favor of the trendy side-access opening, a feature I have never wanted or needed but I guess some folks use it. The other side has a single INCREDIBLY small and tight pocket that will not hold a water bottle of any size that I tried, and if your tripod is any bigger than a tiny travel pod it's not going in there either. For reference I tried to fit ONE LEG of a Gitzo Series 1 Traveler in there and it was a real struggle. if you are hiking and would like to bring a tripod and a water bottle (pretty standard stuff) that is not happening with this bag. The version II did it easily. You could also carry a larger tripod on the front of the vII with the provided cup and strap, not on the vIII.Then there's the front pocket. Version II has a reasonably sized pocket that you could stuff a jacket, beanie, gloves, etc into and also had a nice organizer setup that will hold all kinds of small tools, batteries, filters, etc. Version III has a really tight single pocket that might take a beanie and gloves but no way is a jacket going in there. It also has two smaller pockets that go reasonably deep, but are so tight that I can't get my hand in there to retrieve anything I put in them.In the camera compartment the sturdy foam dividers of the vII have been replaced with thin, segmented pieces of odd lengths. I'm guessing the design intent was for them to wrap around lenses, but having no tensile strength to speak of, what they do instead is flop around and allow your lenses to bang into each other when the pack is lifted or moved. The inside of the lid now has one large pocket with no organization inside it, so whatever you put in there (in my case, memory cards, lens wipes, flash foot, AA batteries) just falls to the bottom and makes a big disorganized pile of stuff that bangs into whatever is beneath it when the lid is closed.So what's good about it? Well, it's beautiful - mine is a stylish gray with black accents. The top handle is lovely. The harness system is pretty well padded and the bag is comfortable to wear.But since I can't carry a sturdy tripod or a water bottle of any kind, and the inside organization and dividers are so poorly done, this bag is going back.It really seems like a design exercise that went all wrong, instead of a meaningful update on what was already a great pack. Guess I'll order that version II now!
