While Lorrance customer service is good at spending time on the phone, this unit has broken multiple times. Each time, I had to get boat taken out of water to fix, costing money and time. Appears to be defective design. Last issue, took time to get someone to take boat out of water and Lorrance said I had exceeded timeframe for replaced units and would not fix under warranty.

I love the results I get from my HOOK2 Triple-shot, HOWEVER, the transducer is about 9 inches long hanging off the back of my boat. It is totally exposed when moving in shallow water with lots of grass and stumps. The entire piece is plastic, and if you back into, or blow into, some kind of structure it will snap off far too easily. Replacements cost about $150. They really need to design and provide a bracket make of metal to protect the transducer.

I have not had any issues, but I made a rear brace for the transducer. The transducer that comes with the Elite has a metal bracket that the transducer attaches to. I used some 1/4 aluminum and mounted it to my jackplate. Made another one which added support to the rear of the transducer. It is secured with a plastic wire tie so it doesn’t interfere with any signals. Without a rear support added, the transducer can break easily.

Unit is very clear and easy to use until the transducer breaks. I was running g down the lack at 40mp and the transducer broke. Open water and nothing to hit. Very poor mounting design. Lowrance knows they have a problem with this transducer. I calledLowrance and of course there is nothing they can do. Well lowrance I can do something. I can change to a different brand and never spend another dime on lowrance products. Garmins will be in my boat next week.
The transducer bracket will break. I on my 3rd transducer. Poor design. The transducer sticks out too far. It can not hold up compared to other transducers.
This is a solid entry level fish finder with decent clarity and options, like side view scanning, that are hard to find at this price. However, the transducer design is significantly flawed. I have been on several lakes with this and ran through most water conditions out there in the past year. Recently on a calm day on my home lake, the unit stopped reading depth and options were limited. When I pulled it out of the water, the transducer was snapped off with only half remaining. There was no obvious hit to the transducer, as I was on my home lake in calm conditions. Thinking it was a fluke, I went buy a replacement. When I compared prices at Bass Pro, there were only 12 reviews and all were stating the transducer breaking off in a similar way. I plan to contact the ... Keeps breaking. This the third time replacing it. Can't keep doing that too expensive. Does Lowrance know that this problem exists? If they do why are they not fixing it. My next fish finder will not be a Lowrance. Is Bass Pro sharing this problem with Lowarence?
While the unit has worked fine the transducer to the tripleshot is worthless piece of workmanship and design. Unit broke at mounting while going down the lake. Very poor grade of plastic used also. I used JB Weld for marine products and got it to hold but the transducer evidently took quite a beating after mount broke. Will not send any info to the main unit. DON'T BUY Lowrance!!! No quality.
This transducer came with my triple shot unit, 4th. trip out transducer broke away from mounting bracket. 99.% sure I didn't hit any thing in the water. I installed transducer according to instructions.Contacted custmer service at Lowrance, after talking to someone from a foreign country and explained my problem he tells me they will not replace the transducer, after paying $800.oo for this unit he says you will have to buy another transducer an additional $149.99 I sent Lowrance an e-mail a week ago and no reply from them. I have used Lowrance units for 30 years, thought they were better than this. If a company won't stand behind there product its time for me to look else where. This seems to be a common problem with this transducer, have seen other complaints same ... This is my 3rd year using mine. I have a 50+ mph boat and use it in the chesapeake bay. Sometimes pretty rough water. I broke it the other day only because I loaded the boat onthe trailer sideways in the wind trying to hurry. Maybe the other mounted it too low? I don't know but i am surprised of all the trouble. Mine broke due to my own doing, not the product.
