Well made, bought a blemished unit....hard to find the blem. Kids < 12 will be using it and dings and scratches will occur fast enough. Accompanied a jazz piano piece and found it really can emulate a small drum kit. Used it with felt mallets to get a softer sound. Color is not a pure birch but seems to have a greenish cast. Okay for the money.

It is everything that i thought it would bei am satisfied with it.
I removed the guitar string "snares" as they sounded like - well flat guitar strings against wood. I installed a real drum snare cut in half and placed it in the top left corner. Now have some nice snare, tom, and bass sounds depending on where you strike the head.

I bought this cajon because by comparison it was cheap. I have it about to where I need it, but that's only with multiple hours of tweaking the instrument and making modifications. If you have the time/skill this is a great way to go, otherwise I would suggest going to a drum shop and picking a cajon out that's been fixed up already.
Not really had it long enough yo really give a good rating but it is beautifully made and does exactly what i expected. The percussion specialist was very helpful in the end I brought the LP instead of another cajon for which I believe i received good and impartial advice.
This is a well-built cahon. It has a great variety of tones and I love the snare sound.I bought this to add some percussion to our personal playing.
Very cool, no batteries or power required.
