I acquired this as part of the Manhattan kit (skip the American Malt). It is ok. Not mind blowing, but also not markedly better or worse than any cheap alcoholic red vermouth if found oxidizing in the well of whichever bar I happened to be working or sitting at. I’ll keep it around and find a use for it but I would exactly be whipping it out at parties to wow guests.

Aperitif Rosso, in my opinion, is a little sharper than some of the other products but I think that makes the drink feel more as if it contains alcohol. I made a Negroni and I swapped the Dry London Gin with a non alcoholic pink gin and added a little splash of diet lemonade. It was lovely!

I created a cocktail! Aperitif Rosso, cranberry juice, pomegranate juice, All the Bitter Orange. Refreshing and not too sweet. My husband loved it too!

Tastes just like sweet vermouth. Its my mother’s daily drink-she drinks it straight with a little ice. She’s over a 100. Been ordering it for a year now. I would love to see it sold in stores.

Colored Water
22 December 2020

To the makers of Lyre's. I don't were to begin. This purchase was a major disappointment. Each flavor tasted the same, extremely watered down taste. I realize your product is a non alcohol beverage which may come with many challenges to produce but to me and others we had try all agreed that it was to simply put it flat tasting water. It basically has no flavor period. We cant really enjoy it or mix it with anything. It was not what we were expecting. Most of what we ordered was for gift. Is there something we are missing? Did we get the wrong product or bad batch? Help us please we put our faith into your product. Thanks for your time. Sincerely, Sarah Pesler Order # 13967

I was dubious at first
29 August 2020

I was dubious at first as I had tried a few non or low alcohol products and had not been impressed. Lyre's came to my attention from some press articles and seeing as I like a good cocktail, I thought I would give them a try. I was not disappointed! I was so surprised at how close to a real Manhattan taste they have achieved, it is simply remarkable. Add a few splashes of bitters and a twist of orange and I have a very adult sipping cocktail that even leaves that whisky warmth in the throat whilst having no alcohol.I thoroughly recommend this set and I am planning on buying the white and dark rum products next as I love a mojito and dark rum and coke.

Just like Sweet Vermouth!!
3 January 2023

I've been sober for 6 yrs and have been bartending until I finish school and I'm blown away by the sweet vermouth replication. I highly recommend the Rosso bc it pairs well with alot of other lyre spirits (malt, gin, italian spritz, and italian orange) its a great addition to a NA bar

Loaded with SUGAR!!!
18 September 2020

I took a friend's recommendation but didn't review ingredients before purchasing 4 different bottles, which is totally my fault. Had I done so, I would not have purchased! After they arrived I was really dismayed to find that each product has quite a bit of sugar. I had been purchasing Seedlip products, but ordered this because I wanted to have mock substitutes to recreate my of my favorite evening cocktails. I instead ended up feeling badly due to a sugar crash and then having poor sleep. I've tried several combinations - a mock manhattan, negroni and boulevardier - the sugar has interfered with any temporary enjoyment every single time. I now have 4 attractive but essentially useless bottles on my bar and will return to buying Seedlip, which has no sugar. I generally don't leave reviews (much less bad ones) but I don't want someone else to invest in multiple bottles without being aware of this.

More citrusy and sweet, less herbal than I prefer, but still decent enough
16 November 2021

For me this has a strongly citrus note with fair bit of sweetness to it and should be quite usable in places where you might use a vermouth. However, for my taste, it's really missing more of the mild bitterness and herbal/floral notes a really nice red vermouth will have. They are there, they are just not as strong as I would like and I think in a tonic they seem to get lost a little too easily compared to a good vermouth. I don't think the vanilla is as noteworthy here as the tasting notes would seem to imply, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. In any case using as a straight vermouth (neat, at least) I don't think it's really usable that way, which is perfectly fine. Most of these "replacement" versions seem to be primarily meant for use as a mixer with the original spirit being a guide for how it might be used. It may be more passable on the rocks, however, perhaps with a splash of lime, but you may need to use a shaker or otherwise add a bit of water to thin out the sweetness just tad. A decent contender, but so far I prefer Versin (which I don't believe is sold here, unfortunately, but which is sweeter and definitely is not very usable straight, either neat or on the rocks, IMHO, but makes some dynamite cocktails... half and half with a cucumber soda is phenomenal!) I have read reviews suggesting this mixes well with Lyre's Italian Spritz (Aperol) and Soda to make a nice NA-groni. I did not order any of the Spritz so I could not really say how well that works, but it may be worth considering.

This is a perfect option for non alcoholic sweet vermouthI have made many cocktails but the Manhatten is a favorite combined with American Malt and using Italian Orange in place of bitters. I garnished with an orange slice rather than traditional cherry
