This is a rounded slant brush with soft bristles that works with cream and liquid foundations. No streaking. I find this effective at buffing and blending out contour as well. I love this brush, and I have several of them. I've tried other similar brushes but tis is the best on. I apply liquid and cream foundation with it, concealer, contour and even liquid blush. It blends perfectly, there is a nice even natural finish not cakey or patchy, it feels so nice and soft even around the delicate eye area and it lasts really well (I was mine weekly with soap). Highly recommend, worth every cent.

I have been using a blending sponge before this for years (probably used my finger to apply the notorious Dream Mousse before that¡!). The process of wetting the sponge etc etc wasn’t cutting it for me and I needed to move on. I tried a few brushes before I landed on this and it blends my foundation (Nars sheer glow) seamlessly.

This is my second 170 brush. What I love is the denseness and softness of the brush and the foundation application. I had to get rid of the first brush after a mildew smell developed over a period of time. I know not to submerge the brush when washing it however because of the denseness you do have to get into the brush to get it clean. The second brush I got I took out of rotation for about a year but started using it again and now the brush hairs are coming out. Do I try again in hopes for a better outcome? IDK I really like the brush but it's a bit pricey for a brush that only seems to last a couple years compared to other MAC brushes I've had for decades.
I have a ton of foundation brushes, from many different brands, and this is by far my favorite. I love that the bristles are super dense which leaves such a nice finish. I use this with the smaller 270 brush and these two are the perfect combo for your base makeup products. I've had this brush for a little while and have washed it a few times now and have had no issues with fallout or the brush falling apart. I am very careful when cleaning my brushes thou, I make sure to keep the water away from the handle and then dry them bristles down so the water doesn't run into the handle either. I love this brush enough that I am trying to keep myself from ordering a second one.

I like having a bottle of Studio Fix Foundation around for occasional use and happened to find a set of the foundation, a pump, and this little gem all for a price that could not be beat. I wasn't expecting much of the brush considering the only thing I actually paid for was the foundation. Man was I shocked! This brush is fantastic. I will admit, I've become kind of a brush snob. Not so much that I would ever spend more than $50 on a brush but they do have to fit certain criteria. The bristles also don't irritate my sensitive skin like It foundation brushes do (not sure why). It does not soak up very much foundation and it washes easily as well as dries quite fast considering it's so dense. I would absolutely pay full price for this brush and now I think I need to start collecting MAC brushes instead. If they are all as perfectly made as this brush, they will be well worth the money.

All of my other favorite brushes were dirty, and I just didn't have the desire to spend who knows how long on washing and scrubbing them with the Beauty Blender bar of soap. So, instead, I ordered this brush and used powder foundation with a round sponge in the interim. I cannot believe that I hadn't tried (or even noticed!) this brush before. It is so gentle on my skin and makes applying my fluid AND stick foundations so quick and so easy. It creates little to no creasing, and I find myself having to look really hard to locate areas of my face where there may be uneven application. I don't wear foundation, but I use this brush to tap on and blend powder. It deposits the powder beautifully and precisely, and blends it out so nicely. I wear powder every day, so this investment is absolutely worth it -- I'm so glad I have a tool that makes such a huge difference, and is worthy of the quality of powder I buy. The size of and angle/shape of the brush are a great balance between coverage and precision. I can really blend out my powder under my eyes and next to my nose, as well as being able to spread coverage across my forehead/cheeks/chin.
