I almost didn't buy this product because of not-so-stellar reviews on here, but I am so glad I didn't pay attention to them! This product is perfect for me! It covers like a dream, it doesn't oxidize, it doesn't sit in fine lines, and it lasts all day! I set it with Studio Fix powder and my complexion looks flawless. I have very oily skin, cystic acne scars, and sun damage. Yay for me that I found this product! I apply it with the sponge, but I start by tapping it into my skin, then lightly blend, then set with the Studio Fix Powder. Love love love, and I was complimented on how good it looked!

I'm sorry, Mac, but this foundation is terrible. I've been using the original cream studio tech foundation NW25 for years. I had no idea it was discontinued until I ordered the studio fix tech and realized something wasn't quite right with the foundation. I read the other reviews and saw that I wasn't alone. Honestly, if Mac developed a new cream foundation, the company should of kept the original formula for us long-time users. 85 percent of my makeup is purchased at Mac, and I've had other products I've purchased from Mac in the past that have been discontinued. No big deal; However, foundation is a staple in any girl's makeup routine, so I'm very disappointed to learn that Mac made the decision to reformulate the product. So I bought it and I loved this formula better as it's creamier. The only thing is my shade in the old formula was NC20 and this new one I find that NC15 matched the old formula. So maybe that's why some people were dismayed, they just need to get the shade lighter than their old one. I remember using this product 10 years ago and I was fully obsessed with it but of course with new products constantly coming out it fell to the wayside. I was compelled to repurchase this since it recently went through an update and packaging update and it's just as amazing as I remember it. The thing I love about it is it's incredibly buildable for a cream foundation. It doesn't go on like a thick mask and you can wear it lightly or really build it up. Even when it's really applied heavily it MELTSSSSSSSSS into the skin and it looks crazy skin-like. It truly has the ability to cover a large amount while looking like real skin. I feel like Mac could honestly market this as an HD foundation because it photographs well and looks amazing on camera. I was a MAC studio tech loyalist for 12 years maybe? Spent thousands here. The old container was black. Worked AMAZINGLY. I ALWAYS GOT COMPLIMENTS. ZERO NOW. it had a different feel and I didn't know if it was my skin aging but by the reviews I'm not alone. HUGE difference now is after you peel off the foil, you literally have 6-8 month tops to use it or LOSE IT. The round cake foundation SHRINKS TO 60% its size. Whatever moisture completely leaves and the product is cracked garbage. The old formula would shrink over 3 years or so. And it still wouldn't shrink to this small of a size. My guess is Mac used cheaper ingredients and less quality oils or moisture. PLEASE THROW THIS OUT. BRING BACK OLD FORMULA WHY CHANGE WHAT'S NOT BROKEN!!? So sad. I've worn this foundation for more years than I can count. NW25 was always perfect until Mac's latest "update" to the foundation. NW25 is now darker and orange in tone. I had to change to NW20--2 shades lighter--to get the equivalent color as the old version of NW25. Plus, the new version of this foundation doesn't go on as smoothly & requires more foundation for adequate coverage and it is not as crease resistant, even using a Mac brush to apply it (as I always have). And, the price has gone up a lot in just the last couple of months! What a sad decline in what was once a great product.

I also love the Mac Face and Body, but as of now I prefer that one just during the summer when I get darker and like extra light coverage. Overall I can truly say I have found my most favorite foundation ever. I'm confused as to why the reviews here are so bad, the foundation is absolutely flawless. I just want to say, you just need to learn how each formula works and how to apply it based on your preference, skin type and skin care. Mac truly makes the most perfect formulas and skin tones in foundations, and I believe they are superior to other brands. Thank you Mac for all you do. I am a forever customer.

This foundation stays put for 14 hours + along with light powder touch up. I use Studio Fix Powder Plus still. I will never part with this formula after 2.5 decades. I use NC35 with this new combo. Skin looks vibrant and light. If you can figure out your right shade, I suggest go to the counter and shade match, you will not be disappointed. I apply with Real Technique foundation brush and it applies well. This is the holy grail. After they retired Studio Sculpt SPF15, this takes the cake! I love this foundation. It is the absolute middle ground between the matte full coverage of SF Fluid and the dewy sheer coverage of F&B. I have normal to dry skin and I only use SFF with Strobe cream or the Mac P+P oil; sometimes F&B isn't quite enough coverage. Studio Tech is bang in the middle - you can build coverage (I use a firm stippling brush buff in before perfecting with a beauty sponge).it's hydrating and natural looking - not quite matte but not dewy either. Ensure you shade match - the colours aren't quite the same as SFF. I'll be popping to MAC for my winter shade. Great new formula that I think gets overlooked!
