Received in good condition but manufacturing date was 2022. Free lipstick was not given because the minimum spend was based on the final paid amount after the discount. But it was not mentioned in the advertisement. If you are not willing to give a free gift, don't put up an advertisement that mislead customers. Super disappointed!!!UpdateCustomer service contacted me, explaining that the lipstick is safe to use till May 2025 as it has 3 years of shelf life!? What kind of lame explanation is this? As if I dunno a lipstick has 3 years of shelf life. I am buying a product with a 3 years of shelf life NOT 1 YEAR!! This should be mentioned in the product page, not after service. Branded cosmetic company giving such a bad service!!!

I received the MAC Powder Velvet Slim Lipstick in the color Devoted To Chili in a beauty box my husband gets from his employer twice a year. This, along with the MAC 5MM Extension mascara are the first MAC products I ever tried they are right up there with the usual Dior CHANEL luxury brands I buy, just for a lower price. The slim lipstick comes in a sleek black tube there is quite a bit of it. It goes on smoothly lasts about 4 hours if you don’t eat anything. Good for work

At first I found this lipstick style very weird, but it really grew on me. It has a kind of subtle quality almost like a lipstain, good for wearing casually without necessarily needing a full face of makeup. That makes it good for work in a job where I don't want to look overdone. The colors are also fun and not what I expected, they go on lighter than they look. For example, Devoted to Chili transforms from a classic red to something kind of bright and sweet. Burning Love looks like it would be a dark berry but plays as kind of a charming candy pink. Mull It Over is a warm, brighter-than-natural natural. Overall fun to explore.

It's expensive, but nice.

It’s a little more pink than what I usually buy, and a little expensive, but it is very nice lipstick. It has a flavor to it, which is not bad, but I didn’t expect it. The flavor doesn’t last, but the lipstick lasts longer than some other lipsticks I have purchased. I always wear pencil underneath, and I think that helps too. I wish there were more neutral colors for pale people. I couldn’t test this, so I gambled, but this was the only one in stock that I saw and thought it might work. For reference, I am very pale, with reddish brown hair, and blue-grey eyes. I am usually pale (neutral undertone) , so maybe that is the issue. Mac does make foundation and concealer I can use though, and some companies do not. It’s all too pink.

Label is right, shade seems wrong...

Ruby New is described as a "Vivid blue-red" and appears to be in the photos online. Normally I find Mac's descriptions and photos to be right on, which is why I almost wonder if I somehow received the wrong lipstick? The label is correct, but what I got was a very orange-y red. Salmon? Coral? Definitely not the blue-red I expected. Bleh. I was surprised to see no one else disappointed by this shade in the reviews, so I'm left pretty confused. This is my first time trying this formula, all of my other Mac lipsticks are in the Silky Matte formula. Maybe I should stick to the OG Ruby Woo, Russian Red, Diva, etc. I liked the feel of this formula but it's not worth a completely different color than advertised.

Ouch!

This was my first ever Powder Kiss purchase. I bought this lipstick in the shade A Way with Words in a gift pack with Soar lipliner pencil, which I love. This lipstick, however, was so drying on my lips that they actually felt cracked and painful within an hour of applying. To add insult to injury, the colour wore off unevenly and left a tide mark of caked on colour at the edges of my lips.This was such a shame, as I love other MAC lipstick formulas - lustre and satin especially. I can only assume that I am having a reaction to a certain ingredient in the Powder Kiss lipsticks, because I usually do not react this way to lipsticks of any type.Just something to keep in mind if you have sensitive lips, drier skin, or are cautious around matte lip formulas.

dissapointing

I have been a big fan of MAC retro matte and matte lipstick for about 10-15 years. I am now 45 and find that the retro matte is not as flattering as it used to be on me. I was very excited reading reviews on powder kiss and went to the store and bought it in 2 shades Sultriness and Brickthrough. While both shades are beautiful and looked great when trying on I did notice that they are more of a tint then a lipstick. The online try on was very deceiving and I had thought that they would offer a little more coverage. Anyway I decided to buy them. What a mistake! The color comes off so easily, I've had drugstore brands with better staying power! Super disappointed in this formula and unless you are only buying for a photo shoot I would highly recommend against

I like the concept of it, it's more silicone based so it feels very lightweight. This formula doesn't have the waxy feel of a matte lipstick but doesn't feel as oily/waxy as a satin for example. The slip it has is much more light feeling. HOWEVER, the lipstick transfers pretty easily. It transfers as much a lustre or glaze. I do enjoy that sort of soft-focus look but if you have deeper lines it doesn't make much of a difference. Another thing I'm not fond of is the pigment. It seems more like a buildable coverage. My issue with buildable is that you'll end up with the creasing aspect of color pooling into the lines and emphasizing them. I don't like that the formula varies by shade. the perfect pout essential.

This is the perfect matte lipstick for every person and every occasion. Formula wise the product is such a soft, light and airy consistency with beautiful pigment even when only dabbing it on. It's also quite creamy and applies easily with little to no drag needed also doesn't settle into lip lines which is a huge plus. I have drier lips and skin and this product doesn't dry them out at all. I like to dab this in the center of my lips and pat out the edges giving a softly blurred matted lip perfect for any ocasion. The shade brickthrough is a pretty brick-like pinky shade, not my favourite colour however this formula is something I'm def coming back to.
