Thought a grinder was a grinder, but this is a lovely bit of kit. Surprising really. Probably only the soft start that makes a real difference, but seems quieter too.

Another favourite Makita tool.

Typical Makita, professional, trade quality with good balance and robust build and handling. My only niggle is the ON/OFF switch which I find a little awkward to manipulate - but then I am getting on in years a bit.

Powerful but manageable -

Absolute dream to use, it has virtually no kick back on start, and goes where you want it.Dont be put of by it being a bit heavy the grip is just right and compensates so no tired arm, even able to keep it steady when cutting hard to reach bolts off.If you like the idea of a bit extra power this is the one,

Unreliable grinder.

I have owned one of these grinders. My work partner also has one these grinder. I raked out 4 houses with this grinder over the space of around a year and a golf and it started sparking on startup. The bushes were fine. I sent it to the makita repair centre in Wigan and they told me the actuator had gone and it would cost more to repair than it cost to buy. So I lost it as it was out of the 12 month warrenty. My work mate has raked out 2 houses and a drive way with his and his has also now died but his won't power up. After replacing his fuse it is still dead and surprise surprise, it is just over a year old so they won't replace it.It's awesome when it works but it seems so powerful it almost seems to break itself under so much power. Although the cheaper makita grinder tales longer to Rake out houses it doesn't break.So I cannot recommend anyone buy this grinder for raking out. Either go for the cheaper makita grinder or buy the bosch, they're great.This grinder is not cost effective to own as its so unreliable. I expected to have this for 15 years and had it for just over a year before it broke.Makita, DO BETTER!!!!!
