Makita really went above and beyond when they designed this beast. Fist off, it's buikt like a tank. Everything is made from magnesium and cast aluminum except the casing, sobit will take a lot of abuse. It comes with a 24 tooth blade that rips wood like nothing at all. The cuts are always smooth and straight. The added weight of this saw really helps you control it well when cutting. The seph adjustment is easy to adjust, but I really love the bevel adjustments on this saw. They added a secondary positive stop knobs that allows you to automatically stop at 22.5 degrees or 45 degrees without needing to look at the marks every time. It needs to run off of two batteries at the same time, but the 5.0 last a very long time. It even has double battery indicator lights on ... MoreMakita really went above and beyond when they designed this beast. Fist off, it's buikt like a tank. It even has double battery indicator lights on the top of the saw to show you how much more juice you still have. As for the rear handle, I like these much better than the did wonders as the are more comfortable to use, and are not as wide. I will say that there is a slower build up of power going to the blade than what you would find in an electric saw, but only takes a second to get the full rpm up. This even has a self adjusting motor that will increase power on its own when needed. This should help you save on battery usage. There were a few things that really got to me about this buy. The first is that they give you no bag to keep this in. Makita is usually good about this, but not this time. Another is the saw can take an edge guide, but again Makita did not include it (really Makita??) And the third is there is no place in the saw to store the blade removal wrench. Many other saws, especially in this range has an onboard wrench storage slot. Other than Makita cheating out a bit on accessories, the saw is just plain awesome.

I have had this for about 6 months now and it's great. Unlike other brand dual chargers this is an actual DUAL CHARGER. It charges both batteries at once. I've come accross 3 brands that have dual chargers that are actually sequential chargers, once one battery is charged it starts charging the next one. Kinda useless really, might as well just have two chargers considering the size they take up. Not the case for this charger, it charges both batteries at the same time, and at the same rate you get out of a standard makita charger (5ah batteries in around an hour, 4ah in 45 minutes 3.5ah in about 35 minutes). The usb port is handy at a jobsite for powering a speaker or charging your phone. Great charger, not sure i'd get it if i wasn't getting it in a combo pack though.

Excellent substitute for a Makita product

Only used this once and it worked perfectly. I charged 2 new 6ah batteries in less than 30mins as they were already 80% charged, I knew this because the accompanying pamphlet with the charger explained in full the lights system. It played a tune when ready too. Very Happy. James

This is great if you have 3+ Makita tools and you are using them at the same time on a job. I have 5 tools and 7 batteries. That way I can drain 2 down and replace those 2 whit full charged 2 and be recharging 2 all at the same time. Using 5 tools and never have 1 dead on the charger. Best thing is, there is not 5 different extension cords nor looking for any outlets. Cuts time down like you would not believe. Pick one up and go. I have forgot where I left a tool once or twice but this battery charger will keep you going.

Great in stationary applications

Recently purchased this through want rather than need. I already have 4 of the single unit chargers in various Makpac cases but I though't I'd buy one of these to keep in my site box. There is a 110v version available for somewhere around double the price of the 240v version; however I have a 110-240v inverter so I can use this at home and on site(although you probably shouldn't do this yourself). It's very handy when you have 10 or so batteries that are in constant use across multiple tools but I wouldn't recommend this if you only have a handful and with the newer 5 and 6ah batteries, I find the need to charge them is diminished greatly. It's not like combining two single chargers, it's heavier still so I wouldn't recommend it if you are jobbin' or travelling light. The USB port on the front is handy when you need to charge your phone and such devices, however I would recommend you buy the Makita LXT slide on-USB adapter if you want to keep portability an option. Overall it's handy if you need it but a big expensive if you don't have a lot of tools and batteries in action.

Large, but effective charger that gives you all of the information that you need about battery state, charging status and actual charging. Double charging means that , if you have a number of Makita power tools to be used at the same time, battery availability should not be a problem, always assuming that you have enough batteries. A good charger that, replacing a single charger, has made a great deal of difference to my house renovation.

Have had the single rapid charge charger but decided too treat myself to the double one. Only used today but must say I'm impressed. Will now be able to charge two batteries at once. Shopped around and found this at the best price. Highly recommended seller. Swift delivery. I could ask for no more!

Wowee...a nice charger
10 August 2020

Picked this up on eBay. I'm very glad that I did brcause I have a nice collection of Makita batteries being used around the house. Just have to get used to the tunes on it. It plays a short couple of notes when you place the battery into the charger and then the full tune when the battery is set to go. Also has lights to tell you the state of your battery during charging. This charger is also double fast compared to my older but reliable single charger. So far it has been worth the money spent, so we'll see
