Fantastic machine with many different attachments. Can’t fault the machine and I get 30mins out of 5ah batteries. But it’s difficult to justify the price of makita cordless machines. And that’s before taking into account the price of batteries

Tired of petrol strimmer not starting, or just being tempramental, i got this given i already use alot of Makita kitt and have a number of spare batteries. i already have the hedger trimmer too and this was good. So far ive testeded it quite extensivly, using it to brush cut brambles and hawthorn scrub with the meal cutter, trim the nicer areas of the garden with the cord attacmneht and used it on some nettels and thicker verge with the plastic blades. All in all very happy, with two 5amp batteries on medium power mode you get about a hour, obviously if your doing intensive things you can selcect high power mode which destroys brambl, low power setting is good for tall grasses.realy happy and usefull bit of kit.

Early days, but seems to be ideal and good value although initially seemed complicated for just a straight forward strimmer.

More than matches the performance of my old petrol strimmer but so much more convenient to use - no faffing around with 2 stroke. Much quieter, variable speed, reverses for untangling. Gets through batteries at quite a rate though - if you intend using it for more than 30 mins you'll need more than one set.

Great service,trimmer arrived earlier than expected. Trimmer is brilliant and the auto setting works well speeding up when hitting a tough spot. A great addition to my collection of Makita tools.

Plenty of power

Got this in November 2022Pro:- Plenty of power!- It has constant tork so you don't need to rev it like you do a petrol line trimmer.- Has 3 speed setting, so far I have only had to use the lower speed setting for all grass work and fishbone fern and light bush growth.- It has a metal blade for more heavy work (you need to remove the lower section of the guard).- On the higher speed settings it will demolish just about anything and more so with the metal blade onCons:- The plastic guard on the line head is a little bulky, making it not so easy to cut grass very low (you can tip the line trimmer a bit to compensate or you could remove the lower half of the guard (which you need to do if you use the metal blade)).- Trigger could be less touchy. What happens is because these trimmers have a constant tork, you don't need to rev the trimmer up for heavier grass, it just compensates. Because of this, you tend to hold the trigger in the same position which causes your finger to become desensitised a little bit, so you instinctively move it which alters the revs on the line trimmer.- It is a little bit weighty with 2 x 18v batteries (I use 6 mAH). It's a little bit heavier than my old Ryobi petrol (check yourself though, this is just my perception).Overall:I am more than happy I got this higher end model and would purchase again.Other:Got this from the Miranda store (Khouris).
