I was looking for a lightweight breaker, something that could be held above your head for a long period of time. This ticked all the boxes and didn't disappoint, plenty of punch for a small piece of kit.

This drill replaced my earlier model which was so popular someone stole it!. This one is even better with plenty of controlled power, a safety clutch and best of all one function selector to choose between hammer only, drill, and hammer drill. The selector also allows the user to turn and then lock the bit to any position - handy when chiselling. The anti-vibration technology of the handle and gearbox really do work with minimal tiredness after prolonged hammer work. The heavy duty carry case has plenty of room for all the drills and chisels necessary. Like all Makita gear, expensive, but worth every penny if you want a tool to do the job and last for years.

Got this as an addition to a 2KG Dewalt as I wanted something with a bit more oomph for longer chiselling jobs.Box sinking and chasing has been totally effortless though I did have to dial the (chiselling) power down as Victorian plaster isn't as strong as I thought.I've marked down Value and Reliability as I'm a diyer and it's an expensive bit of kit. I've also only had mine a month so can't comment on reliability. However I don't doubt the build quality and like to have decent quality tools.

Good initially then failed

I originally bought this to cut a hole for an aircon pipes as the diameter was greater than my other drills could manage.I used to cut an opening in clinker blocks and it just stopped working after 20 minutes. I ended up finishing the job with a small DeWalt drill with chisel action.I sent back to Makita because it had a three year warranty and they repaired it.I am not impressed with the reliability as it has been used minimally and failed quicker than expected. I respect my tools and this has never been abused. To fail like this is disappointing.

Excellent drill / breaker. Excavated a section of concrete floor with ease.Really well designed & comfortable to hold, despite it's fairly hefty weight.Minimal vibration, especially compared to a cheaper breaker i tried a few months ago.I suspect for really big jobs a bigger heavier tool would be required but as a compromise, breaker / drill the 3210C is superb !

The strongest sds plus in the market with less vibration than others which allow you to drill up to 2 hours daily. I really love it. My team use them on rota 8 hours per day with 18mm drill bits on reinforcement concrete non stop and they are really strong. As a dewalt lover I can say that makita here is the winner.I definitely recommend it.

Makita HR3210C rocks!

Having researched the market for professional hammer drills I came to the conclusion that this Makita was rated as one of the top machines to use, so I started bidding on this one on eBay. Professional hammer drills do not come cheap but I won the bid for a lot less than the best price I could find for this anywhere else and I am not disappointed with what I got. You do certainly get what you pay for with this machine and given due care it should last a lifetime. This drill and all the extra bits and cores that came in the package work exceptionally well, cutting and drilling like a hot knife through butter. It has the torque to deal with even the most challenging trade jobs I can throw at it and is sufficient rugged/well built to stand up to the vibration/knocks it ... MoreHaving researched the market for professional hammer drills I came to the conclusion that this Makita was rated as one of the top machines to use, so I started bidding on this one on eBay. The drill comes in a handy plastic injected case which houses the drill, the 13mm chuck and other accessories and even has some space for SDS plus bits. All round an exceptional piece of kit from Makita.

Makita drills have always been Top

My previous HR321 5.6 was a 110v version and has given me great service for 9 years or so. Just had to return this 240v model after only one use: the spring-loaded bit holder was staying down(open) after a bit change and had to be messed with to free it up. The action felt abrasive. I also noticed that the motor sounded tinny compared to my old one plus less grunt. I've ordered a Dewalt 7.8kg in 240. There seems to be a shortage of corded, mostly 110v being offered.

Why didn't I buy this before, it is hardy, easy to use and is the "hulk" of all machines, made my life so easy. Putting holes into thick, stone walls to install a gas flue is now done in minutes rather than all morning with the old machine! Definitely would recommend and will buy again, should I need again.
