This is the charger you need to charge the latest XGT (40V max) family of Makita batteries at a fast rate (unless you want to charge two at a time). Charging speed is similar to that achieved by other manufacturers' fast chargers for higher voltage/capacity batteries. Indication lights a little confusing on first plugging in. The 80% full indication is useful along with the fully charged sound.

I bought as a brand new item, bit disappointed as charger has been sent without original box package like a second hand item. And nothing been mentioned on website.
Cons: The fan is somewhat noisy

Two fans keep the batteries cool while charging. I switched to XGT for this reason (amongst others) after I had a battery overheat and explode while charging
