Unfortunately this is the most unbalanced tool that Makita have produced, it seems okay as a bare body, but as soon as you add a battery, well, things go south. You really do have to focus on placement of the nose and position of any angle that you are in.Not sure if this a rush item that Makita had to get into the market, but as the review title says "disappointed".

Had this gun 2 years and it’s been back to makita 3 times.That’s 6 weeks away. Just doesn’t work reliably.Dry fires very often and marks the timber when it does .Latest from makita is that I should try it on scrap timber before use.This tool is not up to makita usual standard.Don’t buy it.

I upcycle and restore furniture, I needed a decent nail gun for the varied work I do. The Makita DBN500ZJ Brad Nailer gets the job done. It has a little weight to it with the 5Ah battery fitted, but isn't really a problem. It's easy to load nails, from 15mm through to 50mm. Comes with 2x soft tips to lessen marking of the wood when trigger is pulled. Has a depth dial anda rocker switch allows you to choose between sequential or bump fire modes. Anti dry-fire mechanism and has tool-less depth adjustment. Great tool to have around and I like the freedom from airhoses but it is a little large and un-weildy. Body feels a tad tacky as well compared to the Makita pin nailer. You obviously stick with what you have when it comes to battery tools and this does work but I wouldn't start a collection from here
Purchased this to install panelling in our hallway & landing. The BEST piece of kit I own & at a better price than anyone I could find elsewhere. Currently looking for the next project to use it
Very good product like all makitas amazing bit of kit.
Using a fully charged 5Ah battery, Will not sink a trim nail of any length into 1/2 trim. Depth adjustment does not fix the issue.
