Performance: Though I don’t think that this is an authentic Makita product (branding in decals only / housing is similar with an unbranded version, black blower in photo), it is surprisingly powerful. Multiple speed is controlled by how much pressure you apply on the trigger which is great. Owner’s Manual received was for a different product. Looking forward to its durability test. Cheers!

Seems more the size of a hair dryer than a leaf blower. It is remarkably effective on dry leaves for its size when the leaves are on a hard flat surface. We have lots of gravel and grass and a spring tine rake has been better. The flimsy package had been damaged and only the body and nozzle was in the package. No leaf collecting bag was included. Batteries were not the issue. We are blessed with many trees with leaf fall and for us this device is more of a curiosity than a serious piece of kit. It may be a suitable Christmas present for someone with a small garden.

I have a Stihl petrol blower which I find invaluable around the garden, and this smaller ,electric, version is just as useful indoors, and around my workshop. I'm a hobbyist, and only bother coupling up the dust extraction (my old, knackered, vacuum cleaner) when I'm using MDF. As a result I need to keep on top of the dust in my workshop. This little unit has three power levels, and plenty of control (via the trigger) within those settings, so it is possible to dust without blowing everything on the floor. At the highest setting it has enough power to quickly clean the floors. It seems reasonably economical with the battery juice, though to be honest that's not really a consideration for me. Small enough to sit on the shelf under my bench means it gets used plenty, ... MoreI have a Stihl petrol blower which I find invaluable around the garden, and this smaller ,electric, version is just as useful indoors, and around my workshop. You will find lots of other uses for it to, from drying stuff to starting fires, to cleaning out radiators etc. etc. Fifty quid well spent methinks.

You don't really realise how much you need one of these until you have one. It's a great handy tool that packs a punch and blasts areas clear of debris. Great for anyone in the trade or for use in the workshop/garage/shed to quickly blast wood chippings or any other small bits of rubbish out of the way. If you use a airline to blast dust or debris away and have the problem of tinkering late at night this is a great handy tool. Also it's ideal to use to dust yourself or others down with at the end of the day to save taking dust home with you. Need to blast away dust in your car or van? No dramas. It helps with ease. The trigger is variable so you can apply as much as you need or there is a 3 stage dial to set the amount of blowing power. The product works great and it is the perfect size for me. I use it for everything! I get the dog hair out of my car, I use it in the garage and around the yard. This product is my new broom essentially. The battery takes just minutes to fully charge and the power this smaller blower has is impressive. It isn't very loud and it is extremely lightweight.
Since I had several other Makita lithium ion powered tools I decided to get this blower to have something handy for small quick jobs where a blower is needed. It is quite handle for blowing debris from the cowling and underhood areas of cars, small amounts of leaves on walkways and decks and cleaning the garage of dust and leaves that blow in. it is very light and compact to get into tight areas. Before I would either have to start my air compressor, get out cords for the electric blower or use the much heavier and smelly gas blower for small jobs. Now I just grab the little Makita and hookup any one of several batteries I have ready. It will run through a 4 amp hour battery in about 10 minutes and emits a high pitched noise but those are the only drawbacks. I have grown to like Makita battery tools and have an 18V 1/2 drill, 1/4 drive impact driver, circular saw, reciprocating saw and now the blower. I also have a 12 year old 4 stroke Makita BHX2500 gas blower that I use for big jobs or clearing debris.
I was a little apprehensive when I ordered this because it had some not very good reviews. Obviously some people bought this expecting a lightweight tool to do the work of a professional grade tool. For what it is and what it cost I am very pleased. I bought it to do a couple of things. One, blow bird seed and husks out of sliding door tacks and off the patio and also use it to dry motorcycles after washing. I haven't put it to use drying anything yet but it goes beyond expectations for the bird seed clean up. It's light enough for my elderly mother to handle and will also work well to clean the entry way to her front door and any other porch/patio duties we will give it. If you need something to clean up a whole yard this is not the tool but for localized clean up ... MoreI was a little apprehensive when I ordered this because it had some not very good reviews. This handy little blower is perfect for clearing debris around the house! Its smaller size takes up little to no space when storing away, but it is also powerful enough to handle typical jobs around the yard. You don’t need to but I did buy the sweeper attachment for it and that was a great choice as well! Also I feel I should say this obviously isn’t a commercial grade equipment replacement. It’s just great for around the house or shop.
This item is a Makita - so it does have a solid, quality structure. It is a really 'wimpy' device, though. Maybe I have some type of knowledge deficiency - so [potentially] take this review with a grain of salt... But I feel like, even for what it's rated for (18 V / 3.0 Ah), this blower is extremely weak. With that said, it was able to operate for quite some time when tested. Great battery life. I use the word "blower" loosely in my description above. It honestly never got much use after the aforementioned testing phase because the amount of air it pushes isn't practical for most relevant tasks. Use a variety of Makita products, almost every day, and would recommend each one that I own... besides this blower.
I've owned my makita blower for probably 6 years now and I love it! I'm not gonna lie at first I laughed at it but the more I looked at it the more I thought maybe it could be useful being able to carry it in my tool bag. Man I'm glad I got this little thing I use it all the time. I blow my saws off at the end of the day, blow myself off after sanding drywall or being in an attic with blow in insulation, blow the dust out of the trailer, blow saw dust off customers property, heck i even use it at home to blow grass off the driveway. It has power to do it all and in a tiny package that fits in my tool bag, you can't beat it. I highly recommend this product for a contractor or even a wife potting plants and wants to blow away dirt. It's great and super handy to have ... MoreI've owned my makita blower for probably 6 years now and I love it!
