I bought this when first available. Nothing negative with the impact driver to report. 1 thing holds back the hammer drill: it doesn't hit with the intensity of some other brands 18v or equivalent options. I have used almost every brand. That's why I can't give 5 star rating.

I bought this combo kit from Acme Tool on Thursday 22, 2021 and received it Sunday 25, 2021, extremely fast shipping! I have been using them everyday and so far they both have been amazing tools. The different options/settings that both tools have are superior. I thought they were going to be confusing to use, but it took about 1 minute to figure it out and it definitely makes it fun again. I’ve never been a Makita fan, but this new 40v system has changed my mind. Very comfortable to use all day, better than most tools, very smooth. The 2.5Ah batteries seem to last longer than most 5.0Ah 18v batteries. IMO the Makita 40v system is the next big thing in the tool industry and look forward to adding more Makita 40v to my tool lineup.

After a month of use, I’m very satisfied with the features and the performance of the XGT drill and impact driver. The drill doesn’t disappoint, with high speeds drilling through wood like butter and high torque for drilling through thick steel. I haven’t used it on masonry as of yet, since I already have a rotary hammer drill with its own dust extractor attachment. Moreover, the drills keyless metal chuck works great, as I haven’t had to re-chuck any bits as of yet. Further, I haven’t extensively used the electronic torque control enough to comment on, as the drill will mainly be used on drilling wood and steel.The impact works great, but it’s not going to displace the tried and true, Makita’s18v XDT16 impact.
