This is one of the best tripods I’ve used. Everything made sense and it felt like a tank. It’s a bit heavy but when your putting a heavy camera on there you will appreciate that. Highly recommend.

As I always expect from Manfrotto, this tripod has a high standard of quality. Easy to use, rigid, light, and suits the job

This tripod is light and stable considering what it is. The 62 height is good for my work, mainly filing performance art, and when you add a head like the 504 and a camera on top you're up in the 6' range. As a twin leg tripod with a mid-level spreader it's a good option. I use it for video mainly but also for large lens support hooting photos as the lens can rotate in its collar. This model can take the ground level spreader as well. I have that model as well but couldn't get the mid-level spreader for it as there aren't proper couplers on that model. It uses the older spreader like the 546b. This new spreader is a better design with twin push-in pins securing it. For my type of shooting it wasn't worth buying the newer model that can be used without the spreader. ... MoreThis tripod is light and stable considering what it is. Manfrotto officially makes the worst tripods of all time. Been using 545B legs on a feature movie for a year and this thing caused me so much pain. Don't waste the money. Save up and get a sachtler. I used a Sachtler a friend let me borrow and it was NIGHT AND DAY. Cant wait for the day I get to throw my Manfrotto in a trash compactor....
This is the tripod that the website recommended be used with the Canon C300 Premium kit. This tripod could not handle the C300 premium kit weight when it was built out.
I own 3 of those and 2 had minor defects, brand new.Still perform strong after many years for a lot less than SACHTLER.The bag that comes with the kit (tripod + head) used to be a bit bigger (I love to throw an extra item in it like a boompole etc) and stronger.I feel like Manfrotto is cutting corners in the last years... but it still a SOLID BUY and among my best investment as a videographer.
I topped this with the Manfrotto N12 and it is sturdy as a tree stump. It probably weighs as much, so get ready for the heft if you're running around with it. But if you want zero movement out of a tripod, this works great. With 20lbs of camera and rig on it I see zero flex.
I love the idea of carbon fiber....but I most likely would enjoy it more if it worked properly. Even when sent to me with tons of lube on the legs, still didn't fix the problem with the legs. I feel like the carbon fiber is too light for the construction and whenever I unlock my legs I have to step on the ground spreaders to force the legs to extend. They will not drop on their own, like when using heavier aluminum legs. This makes setting up a little annoying as now you are forced to grab everything and step on the ground spreaders just to extend the legs while having an expensive or heavy camera on top.
Worked well, very sturdy, showed some wear from use, but did the job.
I'm quite happy with my choice of buying a carbon frame. Expect this to last me decades!
