Marantz - Model 40N - Integrated Amplifier

A very sound package!

This amp has now been hooked up to my system, replacing a 20 year old Naim pre and power amp. Rest of system is Marantz cd60, PMC FB3 speakers and LP12 deck - plus a refurbished Nakamichi cassette deck.It all sounds very good with a definite improvement on cd sound, matching vinyl playback and at times bettering it. Vinyl seems a little lacking on some titles but this may be due to more accurate analysis of output by the amp.Overall this amp is superb, weighs a ton (!) and in silver looks very stylish. Pity hardcopy manual not include as there are various settings available through options menu, discovered almost accidentally. Excellent build quality and power.

Very solid amplifier. I was able to hear the difference as soon as I attached my KEF R7's to it. The specs say 70W but the power is there. Easily comparable to the 200W Rotel amp it was supposed to replace. In the end unfortunately I returned it because I couldn't sync with the "Marantz" sound. Prefer more of a neutral amp. But really like it and I wish I could have kept it. The only con I would give it is the HELO app, its not user friendly and difficult to use.

Excellent with my setup

This is a very detailed integrated and extremely easy to use network streamer. If you have any doubts, please audition, you will be happy. I had this hooked up and running on Roon/Tidal/Air Play within minutes. The Heos App is nice, but using Roon on iPad with Tidal is wonderful. I was very impressed with its ability to play instrumental music. Especially soundtracks which I love. Also plays Clapton and AC/DC just as well. You won’t be sorry for the price.

Bought the silver/gold amp elsewhere since BB is sold out.I have high end speakers and enjoy a film on my new LG OLED 4k EVO tv (bought in BB 08/22).The back of the amp has connection capabilities I find one of the best available on an amp for speakers, HDMI/arc, optical, coaxial, HDMI.Audio is clear, clean, sharp, just outstanding. HEOS is incl. Just download the amp to play your music from Spotify, SiriusXM, Pandora and more. Or pair your devices using Bluetooth.I'm still learning to use other functions of the amp.

Marantz 40n integrated streaming amp with eArc

The sound and power from this integrated amp are amazing. Highs Mids Lows all amazing. Iv owned and listened to Arcam SA30 / Naim Uniti Star & Atom etc and there is no comparison this is better to my ear. When using with Tidal or Spotify it’s the best I have heard and when playing CDs simply amazing. Iv tried the eArc with tv and it’s faultless ! Just to finish the build quality is very good. Thanks Diego at RS Liverpool for sorting as I’m very pleased with the purchased - amazing sound and very easy to listen to with no fatigue!

This integrated is everything and more that the reviews have been raving about. Yes, I'm a die-hard tube guy, but I had three goals for my summertime listening this year: 1) I needed a solution that would not generate the immense heat that my tube amps/preamps radiate into my great room during the hot Colorado summer. 2) I've recently gotten into hi-rez streaming and didn't want to lay down big bucks for a standalone streamer box. And 3) I have a fairly large vinyl collection and wanted an integrated solution to spin lp's. The Marantz 40n met all of my criteria and then some. I'll defer to the professional reviewers on the 40n's sound. Suffice it for me to say that it is dynamic, smooth, detailed and layered with killer bass and slightly romantic sounding in the midrange. I'm very happy with this purchase. Since I'm an Android guy, I use the BubbleUPnp app on my phone to control the 40n and stream Qobuz, as well as other streaming services and attached usb storage files. Finally, my thanks to Joel at Upscale. We chatted on a late Friday morning, and I had my 40n the following Monday morning. Great product, great service, and I got a great price.

If you were like me, and you're looking to build an audio setup you won't regret or replace in a few years, but don't consider yourself a pretentious audiophile who's spending thousands on every part of a home theater system that needs to be perfectly dialed, this is what you're looking for. There are comparable solutions at similar price points, and maybe those are for you, but this is certainly an ideal product for quite a lot of people.Audio quality is brilliant on both streaming and the phono preamp, and it has all the connections that I can imagine needing until I make 6 figures. It's also incredibly sexy.If you can fit all of your media, consoles, and computers on the HDMI ports of your ARC enabled TV, this one is a no brainer.

Very pleased

I have had this streaming amplifier for a couple of weeks now and I am very pleased with the sound through B&W 706 s3 speakers. I am hearing lots of detail and very impressive imaging from Tidal HiFi and local FLAC files through the USB input. Playing audio from my TV via the optical input I switch on the tone controls and dial down the bass a little and boost the treble for extra clarity - not possible with some of the alternative products. The unit looks fabulous in Silver. The absence of a large cover-art screen is a bonus for me as I will be able to upgrade the streaming side when the technology moves on without feeling that I have lost anything.
