Mario Badescu Glycolic Foaming Cleanser - For All Skin Types 177ml

I've been incorporating Mario Badescu's Glycolic Acid Cleanser for all skin types for well over a decade or so now because the formula works. Although it has fragrance and dyes, if used correctly I recommend this product to someone who has excess sebum production. I do not recommend using this product every day or along with a strong retinoid/tretinoin. I use it once a week unless I have irritated skin or a break out situation that is inflamed. The directions do warn people about this on the bottle, which I do appreciate. I do not mind fragrance and dyes in a cleanser so long as they're going to be rinsed off directly after. My skin loves having a chemical exfoliant once in a while or once a week since my skin is dry currently and acne-prone. I don't get a tight feeling after using this so long as I follow up with a the Glycolic Acid Toner. Remember SPF when using these products, always do a patch test, don't neglect your neck, and rub your skin in a circular motion when cleansing. Just not for everyday use!! Follow directions on bottle for THIS product and then you will get the full benefit! I use different skincare products, but have stayed loyal to Mario Badescu's Glycolic Acid Cleanser and Toner for well over a decade!

I think it’s a great product for the price. I mean it’s nearly impossible these days to find a high quality product that does what it says for a price that won’t make you tell yourself that it’s what’s necessary to stay youthful or it’s for your skin or some other excuse to rationalize it. This line is no frills. In a great way. Clean products, simple and easy to use, easy to follow instructions, simple yet cute packaging. And as for how the product works, great! This is meant to be used a few times a week depending upon your skin type. It deeply cleanses skin. It helps remove dead skin cells for a brighter complexion. No residue, no strong odor and it doesn’t strip the skin of what it needs.

With that being said, I would prefer if the brand cut back on their amount of fragrance that they add in certain formulas (I have family members that are extremely sensitive to strong scents so if you also have someone in your family with asthma, emphysema, etc just keep this in mind regarding the brand). I try make sure that I am cleansing long enough to get the benefits from the actual active so I try to massage this cleanser for a minimum of 50 seconds. The price point of this makes it affordable for many people with it being 6oz/177mL at around $16 (Ulta has the products marked down sometimes which is when I stock up). Since this cleanser lives up to its name as being a “foaming cleanser” you do not need to use a ton of it to see results. This seems to be a gentler cleanser as opposed to others with Glycolic being the heavy hitter in the formula I say this because my friend has some adverse reactions any time she uses a higher concentration of Glycolic which manifests with her having flaky, irritated skin so if you’re someone who is also sensitive be sure to follow up with a hydrating serum moisturizer. Better than anything

I use this daily and have adult acne. I saw such a difference, I'm so happy I found this, after buying expensive name brand cleansers thinking maybe they'd be better because both price and being big names. I was so wrong! I don't suggest the eye area being washed with this and only the toner with this because it both burns and turned my skin dark red, eating my skin too much. Use a moisturizer also....i use the honey moisturizer and it's perfect together. As long as they keep making this is how long I'll keep buying it. Also the price is amazing and very affordable.

My Favorite Cleanser in which Keeps my Skin Clear

I've been using this for 2 years or a little more. I tried everything that I possibly could. I wanted something other than drugstore cleansers and somehow saw this product/brand. It took me a while to give it a try considering the price. I'm happy I made the change. I have hormonal ingrown hairs and extremely dark spots on my jawline and under my chin due to tweezing. This has lightened the spots over 2 years. It also dries out any bumps which I rarely get because I use this. I also think it's an excellent exfoliator. It helps keep my skin so clear it has also caused me to appear a little brighter and lighter. I also leave this one sometimes on my jawline only. Never really write reviews but

I have suffered with pretty bad acne, only recently getting it slightly under control as I turned 18. I used this product because I have some little craters and hyperpigmentation left from my prior cystic acne. Used this for a long time on my face and body and got pretty good results in terms of lightening hyperpigmentation. I swore by this product; however, I noticed that this would dry my skin out, which I thought was fine considering I have suuuuper oily skin and was using a really gentle lush cleanser, thinking that the drying characteristics balanced it out. I always noticed that I would start developing under the skin bumps. Once I stopped using this cleanser, I saw all of those under the skin bumps disappear, and have had zero pimples since. Keep in mind that these under the skin bumps weren't necessarily pimples, but almost like really large, hard masses of pus that collected under the skin and then surfaced as large pimples that were really difficult to treat. Again, since discontinuing my use of this cleanser, all of these hard bumps disappeared, and my skin has much better texture than before. If you don't have problems with acne and don't have sensitive skin, I feel that this cleanser would be great for brightening the skin and hyperpigmentation, but I personally will not be repurchasing just because of the effect it had on my skin. I just think that it irritates my skin and tries to close my pores so that the pus doesn't come to surface and create a pimple, but it has a reverse effect in that it just makes the pimples larger and take longer to come to the surface, creating cystic-like acne that is very difficult to treat and leaves deep scarring.

SAD IT DID NOT WORK FOR ME (sensitive/dry)

I have sensitive/dry to normal skin and I've been testing this out for a couple of days now. I was really excited to try this because of the glowing reviews and because I love glycolic acid for my skin. Unfortunately, this did not work for me. It left my skin feeling stripped out, and I noticed it gave me dry patches around my t-zone. Also, I find that the formula burns my eyes a lot and I personally find it heavily fragranced. Aside from the dry patches and the eyes burning, I did notice a nice brightening effect, and my pores looked significantly reduced!!!I'm sad that I couldn't continue using this for long, it might too strong for my skin type. If you have dry-normal/sensitive skin like me, I'd skip this one. Simple, effective cleanser

I am 49 and have skin that gets mildly dry in winter. I have some sun spots and acne scars, rosacea on my nose, forehead frown lines, and general puffiness around my eyes. Otherwise I always get compliments on my skin and I think it does look younger than its age!I'm on a budget and trying to to keep a minimal routine, with products that are flexible for a 4-season climate.I was previously using a CeraVe cleanser that gets the job done, but leaves my skin a bit blah-looking and not feeling quite right texturally. It seems to be minimizing all of my skin issues listed above.I use a pea-sized amount of this cleanser at night and most mornings for clean, soft, bright skin. I apply it to damp skin with my fingers, then massage and remove with a soft wet wash cloth. At night I follow with either a retinol serum or The Ordinary Multi-Peptide serum, then MB's seaweed night cream. In the morning, I use this cleanser *only* if I did not use retinol the night before. On post-retinol mornings, I only wash with a warm wet cloth (I might also wipe nose and chin with a bit of toner). My morning products are MBs vitamin C serum and Hydro moisturizer (and I usually skip day moisturizer in summer, it just sweats off in the humidity).I have not experienced any irritation with this cleanser, but I wonder if reviewers who have found it irritating are either combining it with a retinoid or trying to remove makeup with this? I'm no chemist, but this cleanser doesn't feel to me like its purpose is makeup or mask removal - it doesn't have enough slip for that and might turn abrasive. I remove makeup/masks with coconut oil or an oily cleanser first, then wash with this glycolic cleanser to clarify.I wouldn't recommend this product for daily use by people with moderate to very dry skin, but it might work nicely for a weekly clarify. I definitely do recommend for folks with oily, normal, or mildly dry skin. I had oily skin with cystic acne when I was younger, and I think this would have worked so much better than the harsh products being sold back then that actually increased oil production and made those issues worse.

best cleanser of all time on god

this is my new go-to cleanser, I bought it on a fluke along with the dr.jart cleanser solely because of the price. I was planning to use the dr. jart one as my daily cleanser and this as one to use on occasion when my skin is feeling congested but this has become my daily cleanser! It provides really gentle exfoliation without drying out my skin at all. It literally loosens up the dead skin cells on my face and when I rub my face with my hands they just flake off. I alternate it with the cerave hydrating cleanser in the evening, just to be on the safe side and make sure it really doesn’t dry out my skin/irritate my skin barrier from the daily use, but the way it’s transforming my complexion is blowing my mind.
