As a lover of Marmite, I had reasonable expectations of this being decent and tasty. Unfortunately, that was spoilt when I opened the jar, removed the seal and found a load of runny slop inside, which no amount of stirring improved. On top of that, it was so incredibly salty it was repulsive. Yeah, Marmite is salty, but it's yeast extract and you spread thinly. This is peanut butter, so naturally you spread it thicker. End result, a very unpleasant, sloppy salty experience. Straight in the bin.

We were kindly sent this free to review. We eat marmite and peanut butter by the bucket load - often together. This concoction however pleased neither my marmite fan nor my peanut butter fan nor me who likes them on the same slice of bread. Too salty. Too heavy. In fact its made me realise I like peanut butter and not too well mixed together so I get one mouthful more predominantly one thing than the other. Rest of it headed for bin.

Received this item to review from Ocado - Marmite avec crunchy peanut butter; a gourmets review. A good idea but needs, to my taste, a little refining. A. Not enough Marmite taste. B. 'claggy', sticks to your teeth. C. Needs a strong arm and a substantial implement to mix in the oil that settles on top. But 4 stars for effort, and not far off a 5!

?I?m reviewing this product because I got a free sample from Ocado.? I couldn't wait to try this as I love Marmite and peanut butter! I thought it wonderful! At first the Marmite doesn't come through with a strong taste but when it hits your taste buds it does! Just the right balance! I find it good, it is a little liquid at the top so serve it with a teaspoon and stir first. Lovely crunchy peanuts too! Will definitely buy again! A winner! Thanks! ?
I got a free sample from Ocado and I can't believe that I'm reviewing a Marmite product, as I normally fall in the category that positively hates Marmite! But this Peanut Butter is actually delicious, the Marmite gives a little darker taste to it, exceptionally pleasant. I was worried about the oil separation but the label explains that only peanut oil is used and therefore it's a natural appearance. Just needs a good mixing for a perfect substance. Do I recommend this product folks, oh yes!
Was looking forward to trying this because I love peanut butter and I love marmite. Sorry to say that I hated this though - far too strong a taste of marmite which overpowered the taste of peanut butter. I could only tell it was peanut butter by the consistency. Speaking of which it really had separated quite a lot with a very big pool of oil sitting on top of the very stiff dry peanut butter so it was almost impossible to stir together. Will be throwing the rest of the jar in the bin unless I can give it away and Ill stick to my individual helpings in future!
Every jar I have had has thick claggy peanut butter in the bottom topped with a liquid and then a layer of oil on top. Its impossible to mix it all together, and certainly without making a mess and getting oil everywhere. My advice - buy Marmite and peanut butter separately and spread them separately on your toast. Dont even get me started on the messy greaseproof film over the jar .
I was sent this for free by Ocado to review. I love peanut butter. And I quite like Marmite. My hubby loves both. This just wasn't quite right? As a peanut butter, it was too oily and gloopy. As Marmite... it just didn't add anything other than a heap of saltiness! So, to recap, just oily and salty peanut butter. A definite no from me and hubby. Will be donating the remainder of the jar to a friend who is weird enough to like it!
I was a bit sceptical on the whole idea of marmite and peanut butter, and really didn’t think that it would work.Well was I wrong! The marmite is not too strong, just a mild taste which doesn’t over power the peanut butter. It’s absolutely gorgeous! The texture is perfect, just the right amount of crunch, without having too large peanut pieces. It’s not sweet, but it’s also not bitter. Just that perfect sweet spot!I find my self often just sitting and eating this directly out of the jar with a spoon! The best bit? It’s healthy! What more could you ask for? It’s an amazing product, and I’m sure that once you try it for your self you will agree!
So I’m a lover of peanut butter but also like marmite on the off occasion. I was a little skeptical about this as I was sure the marmite would over power the peanut butter.....well I was wrong, very wrong. There stodgy, creamy, lovely taste and texture of peanut butter is still very much there, but added to this is a hint of marmite, not to much that it’s overpowering but not so little that you can’t taste it. I’ve had this on rice cakes, rivita, toast and even with celery sticks as a snack and I really enjoyed it on each of those snacks. I wasn’t so keen with it just on bread but there was plenty of snacks I enjoyed it one so it’s a big fat yes from me. If your a lover of peanut butter and you like marmite in moderation then this combination is for you. I prefer ... MoreSo I’m a lover of peanut butter but also like marmite on the off occasion. Give it a try you will be surprised at how well these 2 flavours actually go together....nom nom nom
