I am a bit of a dinosaur when it comes to technology! These Marshall V's are my first pair of wireless headphones and I'm very pleasantly surprised. I have very small ears so I always wear on ear headphones for comfort. These headphones are small but mighty, they fit over my head with a comfortable band which doesn't slip and the ear protection is soft and comfortable, securing in the sound and not letting in the noise from outside. They are small and compact, fitting easily into my tech pouch for work. They look great, quite retro like the Marshall amps. What I really love about them is that they also come with a cable to connect to devices. (My work laptop is an antique!) I have been able to connect to meetings with no problems and can also listen to my music wirelessly. It took me a few attempts to get used to switching between the jack port and wireless, but it's really easy using the gold button. I love the M Button which connects you to the Marshall App and you can adjust the settings to suit the music you're listening to.I have been using them every day at work and at home for a couple of weeks, and I have only charged them the once when I first received them. The battery life is excellent.Sound quality is fantastic. I listen to lots of different genres of music, but Rock and House music are my favourites and these headphones do not let the side down. Having just listened to Pearl Jam, and now Faithless I feel every beat, the sound is clear and the bass is deep. I have the sound loud as I have poor hearing in one ear and having asked colleagues if my sound is too loud they say they can't hear it, which is great. I am definitely converted to wireless headphones and I would highly recommend these.

Absolutely love these headphones! The Marshall Major V's arrived in beautiful packaging that made me very excited to open, - as stated on the box these headphones feature 100+ hours of wireless playtime and integrated wireless charging. Whilst the wireless charging point doesn't come in the box this is a nice novelty to maybe one day try. In terms of battery life though, these came fully charged and after having them for just over 2 weeks now I still haven't had to charge them! They came folded inside the box, presumably to illustrate how you can fold them away when not in use and to stop anything from getting inside the ear pieces. On turning them on they instantly notified my phone to pair them - it was ridiculously easy, all my previous headphones have been a ... For me this isn't something i'm too bothered about, but it's nice to know they're customisable.I use mine on my commute to work - i've used them with both Spotify and Apple music - the sound quality is great, I also accidentally took a call wearing them, i'd usually take them off to put my phone to my ear instead, but the conversation had way more clarity than I thought it would.I also love the look and design of these, the square shape of the ear pieces is pretty cool, they're really easy to extend and the headband is comfy/ fits perfectly. They also don't stand proud so there isn't that huge gap at either side when wearing them. These are my fave headphones to date and I must admit, I can't help but feel a little bit cooler when I'm wearing them, I definitely recommend!

Headphones came in a compact sturdy box, classic Marshall livery, which is instantly recognisable. You receive a very basic leaflet, instructing you to how to connect, also included is a phono cable and a USB-C to C cable for charging, there is no charger, so worth bearing in mind, also the cable is on the short side. Charged the headphones up - worth a mention here, they are also capable of wireless charging, which is a bonus.Connection was very easy, as soon as you connect Bluetooth, takes you to the App store to download the Marshall app, find and connect the headphones in the app and away you go. You also have a multifunction button on the right headphone, which easily allows you to adjust vol or repeat / skip a track and pressing it to pause. Was a little unsure how effective this would be, but it's perfectly placed and easy to use / get used to. The app also allows you to modify the sound equaliser for the headphones, to adapt them to your own personal requirements, which is a neat touch. Now important bit, how do they sound - superb, I was genuinely surprised how good they sounded, very crisp, excellent definition and a lovely base present with a real clarity. They are very comfortable to wear, they fit on your ear, rather then completely covering your ear, the padding is very soft and comfortable as is the headband, some noise cancelling capabilities too. Battery life seems very good so far, listened to hours of music over the past 7-10 days and still going strong. They fold away very neatly (and easily), would be nice if a soft bag was included to store them.

The Marshall brand is synonymous with quality audio, so obviously a product like the Major V Wireless On-Ear Headphones will come with pretty high expectations. With that said, at the price point, the Marshall Major V Wireless headphones are a solid choice for someone looking for decent headphones without breaking the bank. While the Marshall name is known for quality audio, it's also known for a stylish, classic look, and with the Major Vs bring the style in abundance. The outside of the headsets and the band carry the turtle shell look with "Marshall" written in it's standard font. The one gold button and white font print stand out against the all black headset. While the ear cushions look small compared to some other headphones, they cover my relatively big ears completely. Cover is key, as they don't enclose my ears. Still, at this price point, they are super comfy, so long play sessions don't get annoying.Audio on these headphones is great. With the standard settings (there's an "equaliser" you can access via the Marshall app) these cans are pretty bassy without the bass distracting from the overall sound. No, they don't have the same crisp kick of some of those $500+ headphones, but at this price point, you definitely feel it and the highs still come through clear. My complaints on these headphones are relatively small. With the extra pillowey ear cushions with the leatheresque cover, I wouldn't want to wear these for an extended period in a hot/humid place as I'd hate to see what happen with sweat. With no noise cancellation/noise isolation, the volume isn't as loud as I'd prefer. That may just be a preference of mine, but it's a small knock on an overall awesome set of headphones.Add in 100 hour battery life, and the Marshall Major V Wireless On-Ear Headphones are great headphones with very few gripes to be mentioned. Add in the price point and recommending these to someone looking to spend over $200 is no brainer.
I got these Marshall Major V headphones to replace my older Marshall over-the-ear headphones that were starting to show some wear and tear. I didn’t fully appreciate the difference between the on-ear and over-the-ear designs. The Marshall Major V headphones are on-ear, so they sit on top of your ears instead of cupping all the way around your ears. On the plus side this means the headphones are smaller and lighter, they are also more comfortable to wear with glasses. On the con side the headphones don’t feel as snug and feel a bit wobbly when turning your head. They are still comfortable to wear and sound great. They do not have active noise canceling but they do cover your ears sufficiently to block out a lot of ambient noise. Like other Marshall headphones, the ... On the con side the headphones don’t feel as snug and feel a bit wobbly when turning your head. They are still comfortable to wear and sound great. They do not have active noise canceling but they do cover your ears sufficiently to block out a lot of ambient noise. Like other Marshall headphones, the Major V are hinged so they fold up compactly which is nice to save space in your bag for travel. They come with a very short usb c charging cable (they can also be charged wirelessly but I haven’t tried that) and a nice standard 3.5 mm stereo jack cable if you need to use them without Bluetooth (this cable can also be used to connect your Major V headphones to a friend’s headphones so you can listen to shared audio, which is a nice bonus feature). The Bluetooth function works great and connects quickly and easily to multiple devices. There is a manual “joystick” like button on the right side that controls power, volume, and forward/back skipping. For me, this button is placed at an odd angle in the corner of the square earpiece that makes distinguishing between the directions of the volume and skip controls a bit awkward. The left earpiece has an “M” button that has very limited functionality but can be customized for Spotify, equalizer, or voice assistant (one wonders why they even bothered to have it). They advertise 100+ hours of playtime and I haven’t had to recharge them yet with frequent daily use over a week. Marshall has a downloadable app that is not necessary to use the headphones but gives some limited functionality. The most beneficial use of the app is wireless firmware updates to the headphones. Other than that, the controls in the app are pretty rudimentary and not really necessary (like the equalizer settings, very basic audio control, or customization of the “M” button). Overall, the Marshall Major V headphones sound great and have been a good, lightweight, and compact replacement for my older Marshall Bluetooth headphones.
I wear glasses, so I’ve always had comfort issues with over the ear headphones, and most on ear headphones don’t stay in place. These are the lightest (advertised weight 0.41 pounds) most secure fitting on hear headphones I’ve ever used. In fact, I wore them for almost 6 hours straight yesterday, and I almost forgot I had them on.As you can see from the included pictures, they fold for easy storage or travelling and use a standard USB-C cord to charge, or they are capable of wireless charging. The stated battery life is 100 hours, and they have a fast charge feature. They connect via Bluetooth LE with a 33’ steaming range, and you can also use them with the included 3.5 mm audio cord. The design of this headset is great, and I think the biggest improvement over others is the multi-function toggle button. Between it and one other dedicated function button, there is no more fumbling around to find the right control. There is a dedicated button that can be set to control either Spotify, the Equaliser, Voice Assistant or be programmed for no action. The Equaliser is pre-programmed for “The original Marshall Sound” and there’s a 2nd option that can utilize the following presets Mid Reduction, Marshall, Custom, Bass Boost, Mid Boost or Treble Boost. Battery saving options include being able to set the Standby Timeout when not playing or when not connected, but the headphones won’t turn off if connected to the audio cable. The sound quality is fantastic whether the volume is low or high and whether you’re listening to music, audio books or podcasts.
The Marshall Major V headphones offer high end quality sound at a middle of the road price in a small lightweight headset. Naturally, sound quality is often a very subjective matter of personal taste, but to me the sound seems to be every bit as good as headphones and earbuds I own costing twice as much. The bass and percussion you can almost feel while the mid and high frequencies come in crisp and clear, even at lower volumes. I’m guessing that to keep the price down, Marshall chose to leave out Noise Cancellation. Honestly that might be the only negative I can think of with these headphones and only a concern if you need that feature. Honestly that might be the only negative I can think of with these headphones and only a concern if you need that feature. If that’s a consideration, Marshall does offer noise cancellation in some of their other headphones and earbuds.Physically, the Marshall Major V headphones feature a kind of retro style borrowed from their well-known guitar amplifiers. Initially from the photos, I was a little worried about the wire fit adjusters, but they seem sturdy and perform well. The headphones are super lightweight and fully collapsible, perfect for stowing away in a travel bag or backpack. The padded ear cushions are very soft and comfortable on the ears, although I do notice some slight ear discomfort in prolonged use from the light clamping pressure common with most on-ear headphones. Personally worth mentioning, I do find the same to be true with almost all headphones and including some earbuds. To get the most from your Major V headphones, you will need to download an app for your smartphone, namely the highly rated Marshall Bluetooth music app. Through the app you can perform firmware updates, adjust sound with a 5-band equalizer, and customize buttons on the headphones. The equalizer offers 5 presets or you are given the option to create your own preset. I find “mid reduction” best suited for my listening tastes. The operation of the headphones is quite simple, thanks to a small gold “joystick” that on one axis adusts the volume up and down, and on the other axis change music tracks to previous or next song. Pressing the button in pauses music. A second “M” button on the opposite earcup can be programmed to activate Spotify Tap, switch between two equalizer presets, or activate Voice Assistant. The range of the Bluetooth connection is incredible…I never once experienced any kind of dropout as I moved throughout the entire house and backyard. Even more ncredible is the battery life. I’ve used the headphones off and on for five days and after the initial charge, battery life is still at 96%! I have every reason to believe that 100 hours of listening is certainly believable. Lastly, Marshall includes a semi-coiled extension cord that I plan to use with my bass guitar amp and stereo receiver that don’t have Bluetooth.Overall, I am quite pleased with the Marshall Major V headphones and where it matters most, the sound quality is right up there with the best. As small and lightweight as they are, they seem rugged enough for everyday use.
I wouldn’t call myself an audiophile, but I do have preferences on using different headsets for certain situations. A good pair of over the ear headphones for hours of gaming while a pair of active noise cancelling headphones for working out and taking calls from the mobile. I’ve recently picked up an on-ear headset for work calls and found that I really enjoyed it. I wanted a more casual pair that would travel well and saw that Marshell was releasing an updated version of the Major line. MoreI wouldn’t call myself an audiophile, but I do have preferences on using different headsets for certain situations. So, I decided to give the Major V a try!Pros:- Lightweight and Solid build quality.- 100 hours of Battery Life, Quick Charge, and Wireless Charging.- Rich sound after some tweaks.Cons:- Default EQ settings need tweaks for the best experience.- Can only save 1 Custom EQ setting.Look and Feel:The Major V looks and feels like a premium product right out of the box. The build quality is solid, the materials feel durable and tough enough for your daily use. I’m pretty sure the Major V will survive a drop without cracking or breaking, which is more than I can say for my other headsets beyond the ear buds.It took me a few times to wear the headset before I found my perfect fit, and I still must adjust it from use to use but have gotten used to the feel. The headband is very flexible but has enough tension to keep the ear cups in place on your head even when you’re moving around. The most shocking part was how lightweight this headset is, at under a half pound the headset does not weigh on the head even after a long duration of use. The biggest impact to the level of comfortability will really depend on personnel preference as the only way to adjust the amount of pressure applied is adjusting the size of the band by sliding the ear cups up or down, which will depend on your head shape and size. The ear cups are designed to fold up into the band for travel and storage, which makes the headset easy to pack into a bag or backpack without worrying about damaging them. These are perfect for on the go or traveling. One of the concerns I always have with On-Ear headphones is how they feel after extended use, but every time I’m proven to have worried for no reason. Even after using for 5 hours straight, the ear cushions were comfortable resting on my ears with no discomfort.Connecting:The Major V was easy to pair with my device, just push and hold the main button until you hear the tone and add the Major V from your devices list of nearby Bluetooth devices. On Android, after connecting to the headset a popup directed me to the play store to install the Marshall Bluetooth app which was a nice touch. On opening the App I was prompted to create an account and update the firmware on the headset. After the update, I was able to access a list of settings: Equaliser (EQ), Button Customization, Sound Prompts, and power settings to help extend the battery life. The App is straightforward to use, with the main feature being the EQ settings. You will want to play around with the settings to tweak the sound to your preference and use, as the default settings are flat which leaves the Major V having a much heavier bass sound compared to the average headset.I was able to connect with multiple devices without issue, even to a desktop PC that had Bluetooth. The included headphone cable was also useful to connect to older devices or just to not have to worry about the wireless settings.Power:Marshell included only 2 buttons and a USB-C port on the Major V, but one of the buttons is a control knob that’s more like a joystick with multiple directions that have different functions. It takes a bit to remember all the commands, but the basics of play, volume control, skip are intuitive by design.Battery Life on the Major V’s is amazing with 100 hours of play! I couldn’t believe it at first, but after about 5 days of lite use between 3-5 hours, the charge is still sitting around 80%. Plus, with Quick Charge the Major V can charge up to 15 hours of charge in 15mins. Add wireless charging to the list of charging features, and Marshall really loaded up the Major V for always being ready to go!Performance:I’ll say it right away, you will want to adjust the EQ settings to get the most out of the Major V. The default settings, and even the other profiles don’t really fit to any specific audio profile. Just a focus on one sound range which is rather simplistic. Unfortunately, you can only save 1 custom EQ profile so hopefully you can make do with the flat Marshall and 1 Custom profile. On the default settings, I would say the audio quality was only okay at 2.5 out of 5. But, once I tweaked the EQ settings to my preferences manually, I would give them 4.5 out of 5. One of the major benefits is situational awareness, on-ear allows for surrounding sounds to still pass in while listening to music. Conclusion:Overall, I’m really enjoying using the Major V due to the comfortable fit, custom sound profile and battery life. This headset was made to be ready to go and used daily. But the On-Ear design is a personnel preference, and I would recommend trying a pair on before picking them up to see if you can find a comfortable and good fit. Hopefully some updates do come for the App to allow more custom profiles for EQ in the future. For now, I’ll be adding the Major V to growing list of audio devices used on a regular basis.

The black finish is sleek and sophisticated, making these headphones a stylish accessory as well as a functional device. The build quality is exceptional, with a durable yet lightweight construction. The ear cushions are incredibly soft and comfortable, providing a snug fit without causing any discomfort during extended listening sessions. When it comes to sound, the Marshall Major V delivers a truly immersive experience. The headphones feature custom-tuned drivers that produce a rich and balanced audio profile. The bass is the trademark Marshall bass, that is to say it is deep and punchy, so much so that it may be too much for some people. However, one can easily set a custom eq using the Marshall app on the phone. The mids are clear and well-defined, and the highs are crisp and detailed. Whether I'm listening to rock, jazz, hip-hop, or classical music, the sound quality remains consistently excellent. The headphones also have impressive noise isolation, allowing me to enjoy my music without distractions from the outside world. Note that there is no active noise cancellation, which would have been a nice feature to have. The wireless performance of the Major V is top-notch. Pairing the headphones with my devices was a breeze, thanks to the seamless Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity. The connection remains stable even when I'm a considerable distance away from my device. The battery life is outstanding, offering up to 100 hours of playback on a single charge. This means I can go several days without needing to recharge, which is perfect for me as I travel often. I found this claim of 100 hours of battery life to be true when the headphones were paired to my phone and I was mainly listening to music and podcasts and answering the occasional phone call. When I do need to recharge, the process is quick and convenient with the included USB-C cable and wireless charging capability. The Major V headphones come with some great additional features that enhance the overall user experience. The multi-directional control knob allows for easy navigation of tracks, volume adjustment, and phone call management. Speaking of calls, the built-in microphone delivers clear and crisp voice quality, making it a pleasure to use for hands-free conversations. I also appreciate the collapsible design, which makes these headphones easy to carry around in my bag when not in use.Overall, the Marshall Major V Wireless On-Ear Headphones are a fantastic investment for anyone seeking high-quality audio, stylish design, and reliable wireless performance. They offer an excellent balance of comfort, durability, and sound excellence. Whether you’re a casual listener or a serious audiophile, these headphones are sure to impress. I highly recommend them to anyone in the market for a premium pair of wireless on-ear headphones.
The Marshall Major V headphones were a very pleasant surprise to me. I can’t give objective measurements to back my impressions, but subjectively, music just felt very “alive” while listening to them. In short, they were a joy to listen to. They aren’t perfect, and there are some features lacking that could take these to the next level, but overall, there’s a lot of like or even love about these. The headphones are of an on-ear type and have an attractive retro look to them, with the iconic Marshall logo emblazoned on the outside of each side. I found the headphones pretty comfortable for extended listening and not fatiguing, with sufficient padding on both the headband and ears. I found the headphones pretty comfortable for extended listening and not fatiguing, with sufficient padding on both the headband and ears. The left side has the configurable Marshall button, which by default is set as Spotify Tap. That’s my standard music platform, and the feature worked well–it launches into a music playlist based upon your preferences. The right side has the USB-C charging port (though wireless charging is an option as well) and the 3.5mm audio jack (both a short USB cord and a long coiled audio cord are included). Also on the right side is one of the best features: a small metal knob that acts like a joystick. I really liked this interface: rather than a complicated set of flat touch panels like some headphones use for on-device controls, this one is simple and intuitive to use because it’s a physical object to touch. You can use it to raise and lower the volume by moving up or down, or move through a playlist back and forth moving side to side, along with clicking it to pause. The good ergonomics are matched with fantastic battery life. They’re rated up to 100 hours and while I didn’t time things, the battery dissipates incredibly slowly based on the Marshall app's battery status indicator. Especially with the wireless charging option, keeping these powered should not be an issue. Within the app, there is a battery preservation setting that allows you to adjust maximum charge, charging speed, or adjust the charging speed based upon temperature. I opted for the “standard” measure, which caps the battery at 90%.The Marshall Bluetooth app is good and gives a fair amount of features, although it is not strictly necessary for operation. In addition to charge level and battery options, there are settings for the M-button configuration, power off settings, and of course, EQ. There are two EQ presets that can be configured. The first one is the standard Marshall EQ, which I found I liked overall the best. The second one includes a custom preset to adjust your own EQ curve along with presets like bass boost, treble boost, mid boost or mid reduction. Somewhat confusingly, the Marshall EQ is listed again in the second preset list. The M-button can be changed to toggle between the 2 EQ general presets from the default Spotify Tap, or be used to launch your phone’s voice assistant.Across all genres of music, I just really loved these. As one might suspect, popular music, especially rock, sounds great. Dance music really benefited from the impressive bass output these have, while for classical music, it might have brought the bass up a little too much. But I was generally satisfied with its performance in everything.A few misses: these lack noise canceling, which is a feature that I really love while traveling, especially by air. They also are not quiet in terms of the environment—my family said they could easily tell what I was listening to. And while these do fold up to be really compact, I don’t know that these would be my go-to headphones for travel, especially if flying. They also do not come with a case, which would’ve been nice to keep everything together (headphones, USB cable, and 3.5mm cord). Those caveats aside, these headphones are my first choice for listening in my home now, supplanting some other very well-regarded models. I just like the way my favorite music sounds through these: studio recordings feel live, and live recordings feel like you’re there. That’s a very subjective review, but I suspect if you like classic rock and pop music, along with contemporary pop, you’ll really like these. I did some limited testing with video and found that I didn’t have any issue with lip sync, but I largely kept my testing focused on music. And for music, these were just splendid. Recommended.
