A classic amp range from the classic amp manufacturer. The Mg series has for many years been a staple of the Marshall range with its smooth solid-stae cleans and defined crunch tones. The addition of digital effects a few years ago brought the range up to date, and this latest revision brings in the classic black and gold Marshall livery. MG has now come of age! The 50 is a great balance of horsepower and portability; the solid-state nature allows for bedroom-level volume, with enough horsepower to deliver at gigs.

The Marshall name alone speaks for itself. There is no brand that creates a better sound than Marshall. It's not just my opinion, it has been the most used amp by some of the most famous musicians that has ever played an instrument. This amp in particular is absolutely perfect for use in the home use or in front of a small crowd. Perfect sound and perfect size.

Awesome amp, has plenty of parameters to edit sound, the onboard sound effects are above average for a modeling type amp, has loop outputs in the back, a Line jack for using an mp3 player to jam with personal track, the footswitch that is included is heavy duty metal and can cycle through Clean, Crunch, Overdrive1 and Overdrive2 without pressing the buttons on amp, includes headphone jack, no pc firmware or updates, not necessary in my opinion, the clean channel can be used with with pedals for a custom sound and preferred tone, has plenty of options for customizing sound, but has great classic Marshall sound, especially great for 80's type metal, knobs in the front are a must have and Marshall has that.50 watts is more than enough for a personal amp and loud ... MoreAwesome amp, has plenty of parameters to edit sound, the onboard sound effects are above average for a modeling type amp, has loop outputs in the back, a Line jack for using an mp3 player to jam with personal track, the footswitch that is included is heavy duty metal and can cycle through Clean, Crunch, Overdrive1 and Overdrive2 without pressing the buttons on amp, includes headphone jack, no pc firmware or updates, not necessary in my opinion, the clean channel can be used with with pedals for a custom sound and preferred tone, has plenty of options for customizing sound, but has great classic Marshall sound, especially great for 80's type metal, knobs in the front are a must have and Marshall has that.50 watts is more than enough for a personal amp and loud enough for jamming with a band, though have not personally tried in a large venue. I received my Marshall MG50GFX Saturday morning the 8th of April. A little background, the reason why I ordered this amp is because I've been playing out of my Fender Deluxe. Obviously, I love my Fender amp,all tube amp sounds phenomenal. However, I also know that it's not good to keep turning it on and off or to leave it dormant while it's on for long periods of time. That's why I ordered the Marshall. During the weekdays, I'll sit and watch sports and noodle with my guitar . Sometimes I can set it down for up to a half hour and then pick it up again . That's why I wanted the solid state .I can turn that solid state on leave it on with no issues and the amp sounds simply awesome. I actually consider myself very lucky to have the two amps that I have because they're ... MoreI received my Marshall MG50GFX Saturday morning the 8th of April. Happy with it. Good combo. Even when it's just staying in room - it's already piece of art! If you choosing between silver and gold models - gold looks much much better!Technical is ok. There's no Bluetooth (but I using it with Google Chrome Audio - works perfect) and no Effects loop, but it's ok for this price.Sounds good. Enough settings for difference sounds to choose from. Never tried it even at the half of the volume - for the apartments - there's more than enough.
Just got this and using it with a Les Paul. Sounds great, even at the low volumes I'm using it at in my semi detached house. Lots of versatility with the effects selection. Great value for the money
I would recommend getting the Marshall 4 way footswitch for ultimate experience here. I bought both at the same time & I am having great fun reinventing my style of playing & experimenting with different sounds. Marshall amps have always been my favourite sound for guitars & even with a 30watt amp even my neighbours are enjoying (hopefully) the quality of sound it provides.
After reading reviews I was a little put off about ordering, however I was pleasantly surprised to have no problems at all. The delivery was fast ( even with covid situation - took like 2-3 days to arrive)Turned up fast and so happy with product, finally have a amp and it’s good! Lots of effects and really rich tones. Only thing I’ve read is that a tone amp is better, but for me this is a massive step up using this amp, I can use a line in to play to whatever I want, and I can use headphones to carry on playing at night. All round really impressed. 5/5. Don’t be put off by random bad reviews
Overall:Any one of these are awesome, someone said they could not dial in a good sound with one, I cannot imagine why, I am about to get the 30 watt one in a couple weeks, I had the lil 15 watt one and it had me hooked, I am a player of thrash metal and frankly the sound with my boss DS 1 distortion pedal tweaked and the overdrive a quarter of the way up was perfect! If you cannot get a good sound out of these Marshalls then maybe find a new hobby, these are great for any style of music!
I needed something powerful enough for small live settings but not deafen the neighbour's when practising at home. Robust enough to travel well and something with a quality sound to it. And here it is ! There’s plenty of featured effects included all of which are all extremely useful and provide a good range of basic sounds before you start adding any pedals. All this for a very good price and fantastic delivery service from pmt. A great buy
The MG30 is the best amp under 200 euros. It’s a perfect practice amp, with more than enough sound settings. Brand name ”Marshall” says more than enough for the sound quality. For home, garage or small gigs with the bend BUT with restrained drummer. It’s an "in-between" power amp – it doesn't have the power to gig or rehearse with a band. Very portable and easy to use. The reverb can be applied independently of the other effects, and your settings are programmable. I give a five stars for sound and value. I recommend the MG30 as a starter amp for beginners or as a practice amp for veteran guitar players. If you want to get out the most of it than Marshall PEDL90008 4-way Footswitch is a MUST HAVE!
