Martell VSOP Cognac Founded in 1715 by Jean Martell, the Martell Cognac house is the oldest of the 'big four' (the others being Courvoisier, Hennessy, and Rémy Martin). Two marriages occured between the Martell and Hennessy families. This led to certain strategic decisions being made between the companies (this practise ceased in 1947). One of these decisions was fintroducing the star grading system at the same time. Interesting Fact: Variations of the Martell logo, a swift in combination with the Martell family coat of arms, have been in use since the company started. WIth their VSOP they maintain the typical Martell style. They age their blend of eaux-de-vie exclusively in barrels of fine-grained oak, which encourages the development of exquisite and lucious fruity aromas. The youngest of the eaux-de-vie's has a minimum age of 4 years. The resulting cognac has a warm copper colour to it. The aroma is intense, with ripe yellow fruits (mirabelle plums, greengagse, apricots and vine peaches) coming through particularly strong. On the palate this is an elegant and exceptionally well-balanced cognac. The blend of luscious fruity notes is balanced perfectly with subtle woody overtones and the perfect amount of soft spices. More from Martell Perfect Serve This is a cognac whick can easily be enjoyed neat, over ice, or in long drinks and cocktails.

Delivery between 22–24 July $55.51

Martell Red Barrel has it's own signature taste a tad of sweetness, balanced, smooth, and peppery. As I have mentioned each person has different taste buds, for me I did not experience it had a dry finish. Good for after-dinner sipping with friends or family members.

I bought this for a wedding reception and everyone sipping loved it, it's smooth on the rocks. It's also great with Coca-Cola or cranberry juice. Price is nice too!
All Martell's have a distinct flavor to them, and this is no exception. I prefer this over the Blue Swift and the regular VSOP.
Smooth as a good cognac should be. To my palate the tasting notes are accurate. I think that this is a great value, better than Remy at the same price I my opinion.
The aroma got me ready for the sniff. the sip was the bite I was looking for, and it slowly fixed my mood for a smooth spicy, and calm finish.
I was sent the wrong Martell vsop. I order martell vsop medallion but Instead instead I was sent martell vsop red barrells which cost less than the Medallion
