I got this one in a trade over the weekend involving my Martin OMCX1E which I bought from here 2 months ago. I had originally wanted the one with the burst finish and the Macassar design when I came back to playing 2 months ago, but you folks did not have it in stock, so when I saw this for sale on Facebooks Marketplace , I contacted the owner and told him what I had . It turns out that he had only bought this one a couple of months before and had only used it once and was more into Black guitars and was willing to do a straight trade, so it worked out for the both of us. Now as far as the guitar is concerned, this is IMO, the best sounding of the X-Series. It has a nice full, bright tone which I absolutely love. This is the guitar that I have always wanted and I am 100% content with this beauty . IMO, this is just as good as a 1,500 dollar MIA Martin , and I have tried out some of them in the past, so I do know what I'm talking about. Martin's Mexico factory has made it possible for those of us who don't have the big bucks for a USA made one, to enjoy a Martin at the fraction of the cost.

Sounds and plays great for the price point. Highly recommend if you're looking for Martin quality but can't afford the next level up. Considered "better" models from other brands at similar price but happy I went with the Martin. The included gig bag is also great quality, better than what I've used previously that I had to pay separately for.

I was very impressed with the sound and playability of this guitar. It sounds fantastic, and the neck feels great. This is a working man’s Martin. It’s an affordable guitar made of sustainable, less costly materials. Still, it’s a nice looking guitar, and the quality is superb! It plays and sounds like a Martin; loud and proud with lots of low end. It also comes with a very nice gig bag. It’s really hard to beat the sound, playability and quality of this guitar for the price.

Beautiful guitar at an achievable price. I've been looking for something higher quality but wasn't prepared to drop $1K+. Tried this out at the shop and instantly fell in love with it. Also can't beat Sam Ash when it comes to excellent customer service.
Sending the guitar back. IS NOT what i expected from a Martin. Action high, neck wide . Sound was decent playing acoustically but plugged into the PA system, my old Alvarez sounded twice as good. The gig bag was fantastic, very well padded and I prefer it over a hard shell case.
This is the guitar I'll be rolling with probably for the rest of my life. Love the color in this Natural (mahogany finish) D-X2E, and the rounded-edge, square Martin headstock has always been so pleasing in my eyes. The pick guard and spruce top are just beautiful, too. Since I had an all mahogany Guild D-240E prior, I was curious to see how I felt about the HPL sides and back. It has a nice texture and also feels very durable. Doesn't seem like a noticeable sacrifice in any way, and if it makes the guitar a little more affordable, that's a win-win imo. Most importantly this guitar sounds fantastic, especially with some Martin Monel strings. So stoked to have this one.
A/B'ed this against a Gibson g45 studio, a walnut g45 studio, a seagull and a faith naked dreadnought. Preferred this and the Gibson. Didn't like the neck (personal preference) on the faith. My friend bought the seagull. I'd have been happy with the Gibson, the seagull or either of the Martins. The Martins were cheaper than the Gibson and I preferred the sound of the mahogany.Just shows that you have to try for yourself. Online guitar shopping doesn't work.
I have one of these but it is the Burst model which has Massacar design on the HPL back and sides , which I find to be very attractive. I had to of course, sand down the saddle and adjust the truss rod using the Martin truss wrench in order to have it to my personal settings. Once that was done, I found that this guitar is a joy to play. I only play at home, so I have never plugged it into a amp but I'm okay with that. The tone from this is 100% Martin and it stays in tune forever. I love it and it is not going anywhere.
