This is a great riding shock. I appreciate the simplicity of setup coming from a complex air shock with HSC,LSC HSR and LSR ajustability. I bought it to try out a coil shock for the first time, and to have a backup when my usual air shock was in for service. The only problem I have is that the spring calculator above doesn't allow for fractions. I used it, rounding down, and ended up buying a 700# spring that is completely useless to me. I used the Fox calculator and experimented with 450#, 500# and 550# as possibilities. I settled in on 500# and am very happy with it. I'm not sure why they don't just link to the Fox calculator. This one is worthless.

Purchased this shock as an upgrade for my 165mm enduro bike and immediately noticed the upgraded performance compared to the more expensive air shock it replaced. The limited adjustment makes this the ultimate safe call for riders who don't care to be constantly playing with dials or who are new to the adjustability offered by other shocks and get easily confused. After owning this shock and the similar offerings from other brands with a much higher price tag i would buy this shock again with no hesitation, Killer job Marzocchi!

Road this shock on my Rocky Mountain Slayer and being able to compare it back to back with a Fox DHX2 honestly they didn’t feel much different. It is a more simple shock but works so well and makes service a breeze. It doesn’t have quite the adjustments as a higher end shock but it does 95% of what a fox or rockshox coil does for 1/3 of the price. In my mind unless you need that extra 5% a more expensive alternative has this is the best shock more for most people.

Wanted to try a coil shock and this was the best option for me budget wise. I installed this on my YT Decoy 29er and I felt a big difference right away. The down hill decent were so much more smoother compared to the stock air shock. It does not have a lock out but I don't notice since its on an e-mtb. Great quality at a great price. Compatible with Fox coils which is a plus.
-shipped fast-well packaged-cant' beat the price for quality/performance-shock body looks identical to my old fox dhx 5.0 and yet the damping adjustments in the marzocchi is noticeably better-200lb rider on a 450lb coil travel feels endless on a horst link suspension-simple set up all the adjustment I need-highly recommend even if not on a budget
Replaced an air shock for this coil and couldn’t be happier. I’m not the best with suspension tuning so the easy adjustments are perfect for me. The marzocchi guys are amazing and super easy to get a hold of and talk to about any questions. Worth every penny and will absolutely purchase future products with them.
I ride super tight eastern US woods and that means slime covered rocks and snot covered roots. Air shocks want to deflect off these smaller features instead of soaking them up so I chose coil/coil on my Ripmo AF. The Bomber works great and much more affordable than many of the others out there. I doubt if there is much difference in coils because they use the same spring (although their is of course some internal dampening both rebound and compression). The weight isn't noticeable, but admittedly I'm 225 or so. Marzocchi has been great to follow up and make sure everything was OK when I ordered the spring for my fork (different order) and while Pro Bike was slow to ship, they fully disclosed that up front so I can't complain.
It doesn’t really matter what spring calculator you use or what online forums recommend. It’s going to take some experimenting to figure out what spring rate is best for your riding style and the terrain you ride. Luckily these springs are relatively cheap and when you find the right one you’ll have one or two extras in your tool box to keep in case you gain or loose 20 lbs or to help a friend find their proper spring rate.

The Marzocchi Bomber CR is a high-performance rear coil shock that delivers exceptional trail action and control. ,It fits perfectly on my bike, offering a smooth and confident ride on even the most challenging terrains. One of the standout features of the Bomber CR is its customizable setup. By selecting a Fox 800lb coil, I was able to fine-tune the shock to match my preferences and riding style. However, it's crucial to choose the right spring rate based on your weight and terrain conditions.
