I've only taken this out on one ride so far, but it was 50 miles with 4,000 ft of climbing and descending on pretty rough dirt roads. Compared to the fork that came stock on my Giant XTC, this fork is truly buttery smooth. Where I noticed this fork excel compared to other forks was the response to small, consistent hits like riding over washboard roads or trails with a lot of chatter. After 50 miles of riding on these surfaces, I feel almost no fatigue in my shoulders or arms. This fork eats stuff chatter up every single time it encounters it. It doesn't take big hits quite as well, but is by no means jarring; it's still a quality fork for bigger hits. I'm running 100mm fork anyways, so big hit compliance isn't something I'm worried about.

This is a poorly designed fork, possibly having a lot of defect which I am unsure of what it is at the moment.I have just obtained my new Bomber Z2 today and I sent it back on the same day because it had squeak and knocking effect/sound that is so bad. I have used various fork products and never seen such poorly presented item.Avoid purchasing the Z2, it is definitely not worth the time. I am already paying a lot of postage in-out for warranty claims. Totally speechless. Just don't buy it.

The bike that made me fall in love with mountain biking was a second-generation Salsa El Mariachi singlespeed. I put a Marzocchi CR320 fork on it because it was all I could afford. I rode that bike into the ground (or, rather, I rode that singlespeed until my knee joints were ground down). That was the simplest bike to maintain and ride. Fast forward 8 years, I have since owned several bells-and-whistles bikes with Pikes, 34s, Manitous, and an MRP Ribbon. Forks with lots of knobs and in theory all the possible configuration settings one would need to perfectly dial in their ride. In my honest opinion, none felt better than my old Marzocchi. So when it was time to build the closest thing I could to that old El Mariachi with modern standards and geometry (and gears), ... MoreThe bike that made me fall in love with mountain biking was a second-generation Salsa El Mariachi singlespeed. So when it was time to build the closest thing I could to that old El Mariachi with modern standards and geometry (and gears), I went back to the big M. It took me 10 minutes to install, pumped it up to the recommended pressure, set the rebound per the instructions, and bounced around the driveway. Could feel that I might want a little more ramp up, so I installed one volume spacer (another 10 minute job), lowered the air pressure by 5 PSI, set the compression lockout lever to the 2 o'clock position and headed out for a ride. On rare occasion I move the compression lever to 2:30 or maybe 1:30, and I've added and then subsequently removed one click of rebound damping. That's it. I pretty much nailed the settings on the first ride and haven't looked back. This is an EASY fork to own. When it comes to service, I know, too, that it will be a simple job. I couldn't be happier. All the performance I can handle, at a cost I could accommodate, in a good-looking package that simply rides beautifully.

I’m not qualified to review a fork. This is going on my only bike (Surly Lowside). Going from no suspension at all to one sexy looking fork. While I’m doing fine on trails, my brain is rattling around in my helmet and it’s time to get suspend-y. Currently in the shop getting put on my bike so I haven’t ridden it. I didn’t realize I needed a different crown race so I wont be riding it until I’m back on the Mainland. What I can say is that the fit and finish leave nothing to be desired and the adjustment lever feeling is chefs kiss.
Firstly, Pushys and Fox (Marzocchi) have been fantastic. However, after the first ride with my new Z2’s they developed a rattle in the air side stanchion and excessive play. They were sent to Fox Australia for warranty repairs and completely rebuilt and returned in 3 days total. Apparently a few people have had the same issue according to an online search and it’s down to some poorly machined lowers from the factory.Aside from the issue I had above, these forks are fantastic. They are simple in design and features but feel like butter over even the most technical terrain. You need to get the sag and rebound adjustment just right, I found that I needed the rebound almost at its fastest setting on rocky trails. The look and finish are great too.If you’re wanting an ... MoreFirstly, Pushys and Fox (Marzocchi) have been fantastic. Review is from an average trail rider on a GT Sensor. Experience with a rock shox recon rl and suntour epixon. This is my first mid range fork and I am very happy with it. Almost immediately, I noticed that carrying speed was easier and the bike is easier to control. The front end has greater traction while feeling pretty supple. Some hits from rocks and roots on familiar trails are considerably less. Add the ~300g weight savings over the recon rl and the bike feels more balanced and it is easier to pop the front up. I bought the shorter travel option and swapped it to the 140mm my bike needed due to covid shortages and impatience. Working on this fork is fairly easy if you are handy. I think the fork arrived with too much grease as the air shaft retreated into the uppers once the lowers were removed. So that might have been an issue had I not changed travel before riding. I cleaned up the excess grease and installed the new shaft easily enough. Set up is a breeze if you follow Marzocchi's guide, although I found that I liked a faster rebound than suggested. I know it says that rebound should be set to your weight but this heavy guy couldn't live with the rebound at 2. I set it to 5 instead. Will I wear out parts faster, idk? After 1 month with this fork, I am very happy with this purchase.
Purchased a Z2 last week for my custom build!I was considering a Rockshox Pike but they are a few hundred more. The turning point for choosing the Z2 was when a friend of mine turned up with a Z2 and on trail it felt like a fork worth hundreds more. I literally could not believe it.Fast forward a week later and I got mine ordered and it was here within the same week from Silverfish. Thanks SF for being prompt! As a side note, I work in a bike company so I do get trade VAT on all of my parts.Price to quality ratio for this particular suspension fork is insane and setup is nice and easy. It had a star nut, four tokens and two setup manuals included with my fork. I went for the 140mm 27.5 version in red and boy does it like look nice!Give it 6 months and we shall ... MorePurchased a Z2 last week for my custom build!I was considering a Rockshox Pike but they are a few hundred more. The turning point for choosing the Z2 was when a friend of mine turned up with a Z2 and on trail it felt like a fork worth hundreds more. I went for the 140mm 27.5 version in red and boy does it like look nice!Give it 6 months and we shall see how it survives the rigours of hard trail riding on the front of a hardcore hardtail! Initial impressions are very good as of now. The only one that thing I am going to do is add a token to stop blowing through travel. This is easy enough to do.My only pet peeve - and it’s not related to the fork - would be that it seems they have stopped doing Marzocchi branded Transfers. Would be nice to have my dropper match the suspension! Thanks!
Chassis is OK except bushings - they are not replaceabale, you have to buy new stanchions. No foam rings installed. There is place for them and service manual says you should install them at first service. But that's too much. Saving a couple pennies in exchange for worse dust and dirt protection, really?Indistinct damper design. There is no shimstack. High-speed rebound is managed by petal valves similar to ones used in 2T engines. And these valves are large - high-speed rebound kicks in almost always, making fork feel harsh on rebound. My new Z2 had no rebound. Rebound adjuster had no effect. Serviced it and it started to change something, but not much. And that's RAIL damper design issue - rebound is adjusted between medium-fast to super-fast, no slow side ... MoreChassis is OK except bushings - they are not replaceabale, you have to buy new stanchions. No foam rings installed. You can find youtube review where guys also don't understand why it's acting like this from the box. Also fork seized disgustingly, really my 20 year old ZOOM steel fork traveled more smoothly. Rebuild with regreasing fixed that, now it's smooth. My opinion is to better get a fork with a normal full-fledged damper like GRIP and not this cheaper stub of a damper.

I really can't love this fork enough for the money. I was riding an older 2014 32 Performance with Kashima, serviced regularly, and it was great, but time just gets the best of any component and it was time to replace. I had read all the publication reviews of this fork and was on a budget, so I pulled the trigger. I've been riding it on the front range of Colorado for a year now and can confirm every article was spot on. It just works, and it works well. Not the best, but far from the worst, or even mediocre for that matter. No frills, it's stiff, it's predictable, and dialing it in is very simple with the Rail dampener. Are there better forks out there? Sure. But I honestly think for the vast majority of us that aren't pro's, and for hundreds of dollars less, this fork will meet most rider capabilities satisfactorily. I've ridden fancier stuff out there that was a bit more plush, but I don't notice it enough to want more and have zero intention on replacing or upgrading until this thing quits. My only issue has been the recommended air pressure by rider weight listed on the stanchion, it seems a bit high. I'm what they refer to in Europe as "petite" at 5'6"/135lbs and had to decrease pressure by almost 10psi to get full travel out of it with one volume spacer. I'm not sure if that will apply to larger individuals, but you may need to play around a bit. Also, you can change the travel with different air springs. I bought the 120mm fork, then swapped to a 140mm Fox air spring (around $40) after wanting more travel and it worked like a charm. I can always go back to 120 if need be.
