I've bought 3 of these, one at a time. Very easy to re-set combination w/ provided key. Smooth action lining up the numbers. I expect years of outdoor service if I keep it lubricated. It looks tough enough to withstand a casual thief

I had a Master lock on the tailgate of my pickup to lock it and keep it from opening for security reasons. It finally failed and I purchased the Master 178D combination padlock to replace it and could not be happier. It is much better than my old lock. I would definitely recommend this product for anyone looking for a combination padlock.
Can pop it open with a 15 thou feeler gauge without knowing the combo. Fun to have in a collection as an example of 21st century mass produced crap . Hope nobody expects to protect stuff with it.
The instructions for setting the lock are microscopic! Otherwise, it is easily reset to whatever combo you want! Medium security lock as I suspect one hit from a 4 lb. sledge hammer will open it...certainly sufficient to deter amateur thieves. I just needed some combo locks to lock up my crawl space and barn to keep neighborhood kids out.
