I've owned the cover for my Gravity 1050 for less than a year and it's completely faded and brittle already. I use the grill at least twice a week, so I'm constantly add and removing the cover, and it has holes and cracks all over where the cover creases. The elastic band has completely dry rotted and is unusable. When the cover was new, it felt nice, looked great, and fit the grill perfectly. It's a shame it hasn't lasted even a year. For the price, it's absolutely not worth it. I had a Traeger and their cover had a rubberized material that lasted 5 years and still looked good for the same price. The grill is fantastic, the cover is terrible.

Wow - I have had two Pellet grills prior - both good brands, but nothing compared to how easy this grill is to use and how quick it gets to temperature. I did a 10 lb. brisket as my first cook. Marinated it overnight, put it on early next morning for about 10 hours at 220 degrees. Melt in your mouth results. Then did a whole chicken, and the grill went from the outside temperature of 49 degrees F to 350 F in 3 minutes once fan turned on. That would have took 20 minutes on a pellet grill. I am using lump charcoal at present. The Wifi is really easy to set up and use as well.

Easy and satisfying to use mid size smoker. It’s a good size for a couple or small family and I really am growing to love the ease and convenience of a gravity fed charcoal smoker. Has a learning curve and requires seasoning as any smoker would, but I smoked my first meal (smoked reverse seared filet mignon) the second day I had the unit. Results are incredible and the Masterbuilt is so versatile i did the smoked meat, smoked veggies, and then seared meat all on the same surface. The temp control and ease of transitioning from 225 deg to smoke and then 600 deg to grill or sear amazed me.

We love our grill but this cover has been the worst quality. Not even a year and it looks like a cover that been outside in the elements for 10+ years. It sits on a covered patio next to our black stone, which ironically the cover on that looks new still and we’ve had it for 3 years. Contacted masterbuilt and got the BS our accessories aren’t covered under the warranty… maybe should rethink the “masterbuilt warranties ALL its products….” That’s on the website.
Great smoker. App needs work to update timer without having to hit back button each time. Power cord sucks, very Rhein and plug is unnecessarily too big allowing only one device per outlet. This is a problem using rotisserie with the smoker. The smoker does function well, temp probe is accurate.
I've used this one time now and I'm not real impressed right now. I don't think the temperature probes are accurate whatsoever. The temperature probe for the whole unit seems to be about 20 degrees under the display. I roast had zero bark and almost no smoke ring from this. yet the meat probe quickly came up to 125 degrees and since I want the roast rare, I took it off the grill, let it rest for 45 minutes and it was still bloody red inside. Don't get me wrong, I like it rare, but in actuality, after resting 45 minutes it should not have been as rare as it was, so the meat probe was very inaccurate. In the future I am going to have to use an additional thermometer to learn what the grill temp is compared to actual temp.
I started out many years ago only using a W**** smoker and it was very adequate for the amount of smoking I did. Later on I discovered pellet smokers and I just had to have one. I mean, I thought this would be the ultimate in the Set it and Forget it smokers. I was satisfied with the pellet smoker to a point. However it was still missing something in the flavor it produced. When I first saw the Masterbuilt Gravity 560 I was kind of skeptical as to how well it would work. I liked the idea of the charcoal being gravity fed and all but wasn't quite ready to take the plunge and purchase one. Then one day on YouTube I saw a video of the 560 with the addition of a rotisserie and that sold me! I ordered my Masterbuilt 560 and after assembling the unit did the recommended ... Then one day on YouTube I saw a video of the 560 with the addition of a rotisserie and that sold me! I ordered my Masterbuilt 560 and after assembling the unit did the recommended burn-in. All I can say now is WOW! That flavor that I was missing with the pellet smoker was now in my ribs, steaks and anything else that I cook on the 560. I love the idea of being able to stack hickory chips within the charcoal to add the hickory smoked flavor. Needless to say, I have sold my W***** and my pellet smoker. Not only do you get a wonderful smoked flavor with the 560 but you also are able to conserve on charcoal as it only uses what it needs. After you shut the unit down the remaining hot coals burn out and you don't waste charcoal. I must add, that the cover is top notch high grade material that fits great. I haven't tried out the rotisserie yet but that is next for some Peruvian chicken. If you're looking for the best of both worlds get the Masterbuilt 560 you won't regret it. Bang for the buck it's the best deal in town! Oh yes, did I mention after you smoke your steak at 250 degrees, you can turn up this baby to 700 degrees and sear them to perfection!
I owned a Masterbuilt Deep Fryer so when I started comparing Smokers, I considered Masterbuilt. Based on the superior craftsmanship of the deep fryer, I hoped that the 800 Gravity Smoker would be somewhat comparable in terms of craftsmanship and ENGINEERING. I was not disappointed, and in fact, I was amazed at the engineering and manufacturing detail this smoker had. I eliminated the Treager as it is manufactured in China and did not have the gravity feed technology. I also found the Treager to be someone light weight compared to the M/B.I wanted to assemble the unit myself, so I ordered a home delivery. This way, if something went wrong with the unit, I would be very familiar with the construction. I fully expected to get a few sheet metal cuts during the process ... This way, if something went wrong with the unit, I would be very familiar with the construction. I fully expected to get a few sheet metal cuts during the process as most manufactures think that leaving razor sharp edges on sheet metal was a good idea! I can honestly say that I did not encounter a single sharp edge and completed the process without using a single Band-Aid! A miracle for me. The parts all fit perfectly. On my maiden voyage with the M/B 800, I produced an excellent brisket. Cleanup was easy as was the overall operation of the unit. I controlled the entire smoke via my smartphone. The Masterbuilt 800 Gravity Feed Smoker is not only culinary marvel, it is an engineering and manufacturing miricle.
I have had this grill for several weeks now. My only complaint is that the electronics can be persnickety. But it’s an easy fix. Normally if it starts beeping while heating up I can reset it and it’s fine from there. It hasn’t given trouble during a cook just during startups. It could even be something I have done wrong? But outside of that this is the best smoker or grill I have ever owned. The flavor of charcoal and wood chips and the convenience of modern day electronics. What a genius concept. We have cooked breakfast, pizzas, seared steaks, smoked brisket, smoked spam, smash burgers on the griddle. Did I mention the griddle? What a genius concept. I always wanted a pizza oven but no need now. I would say this is the most versatile cooker I have ever seen. And ... MoreI have had this grill for several weeks now. And to be a first generation of its kind Masterbuilt certainly did the research and got it right the first time. I can see these taking over the market and replacing pellet grills forever. No contest hands down the best cooker I’ve owned and that is a long list. Everyone raves about the food coming from our gravity cooker!
i have now owned the 560 since march (it is now december) and have many many cooks under the lid of this beast! i love the control of being able to pretty much set it and walk away. has really upped my smoking, bbq, and grilling game for sure! a few things i dont like about it though....first and foremost1..THE APP... was so excited to be able to do other things around the house and monitor my cook, but this app is ... mediocre at best. disconnects, wont run in background, and will shut of grill in mid cook!! have stopped using the app and not had any problems. if the app was better, would def give it 5 stars.2 parts that need to be upgraded.A. the PLASTIC fan switches on the doors get sticky, and wont let fan turn on when it needs to... so need to spray them ...
