The figure captures the essence of the original line (vs the reboot in the early 2000's) but adds article that the original didn't have. The toy is sturdy with a good paint job. The vest now has a spot to store whatever weapon he isn't using and gone is the Prince Valiant haircut (mostly). I'm definitely looking for ward to the next set since it contains two of my all-time favorite characters. I just hope that Mattel sees how well the first wave sold and puts more effort into them.

So excited to have seen these in the store! I bought both He-Man and Skelator. watching my Son rip open the packages of some of his favorite characters was so thrilling! we've been watching the cartoon on Blu-ray for months! it's so wonderful to share something so foundational to me with him and see him so excited as well!other He-Man toys have gotten broken within hours of play; these seem much more play-worthy. minor factoty defect: out He-Man has two left shoulders, but who cares; no one but me has noticed that his right bicep is on the back of his arm, and this line is flexible enough that there's really no functional difference. Great toy! timeless fun!

He-Man looks amazing, and the price is right!Finally, it only took 35 Years for Mattel to give us the amazing 5.5" tall figure with 16 points of articulation we wanted. He-Man can finally stand, sit, kneel, ride battle cat, and A million other cool foe fighting character poses. The weapons (Ax, Sword, Shield) look fantastic, and appropriate size, scale, and quality we have come to expect from toy master Mattel. The body parts are interchangeable with other figures. Wow! ~ Only Drawback is the Hair color and awkward facial expression of He-Man, but an ever so slight complaint on a figure to which I have already purchased 100Thank you Wal Mart

These figures really try to pay homage to the actual original source material. They have done a fantastic job of capturing the feel of the original figures while introducing modern sculpting and articulation. The packaging is also a real throwback to the 80’s. I was also very pleased to find a mini comic book behind the figure, just like they did back in the day.On another note, there is one review complaining about the sword not being “3D”. I waited to buy He-Man at retail when Lockdown #3 ended and I'm glad I did. Seeing the faux retro packaging on pegs brought back a flood of nostalgia!But nostalgia doesn't make a toy great... which this is. The colours are nice and bright (brighter than I remember) and the mould is good. His face is not the same as the 80's, not worse just different. The price is decent for what you get. The figure is the same size of the old 80's He-Man but with extra articulation. The accessories are slavish to the 80's as well, which is in keeping with the whole package.I would say the only negatives are the joints were initially very stiff, bend carefully for the first time to avoid breakage (but once loosened he's fine) and his right hand joint bends the wrong way for ... MoreI waited to buy He-Man at retail when Lockdown #3 ended and I'm glad I did. I love the sculpt of He-man's body, his armor, his shield, and his weapons but I'm not overjoyed with the sculpt on his face. I don't hate it but I don't love it. I love the fact that his armor finally has a place for his sword.Now for what I am not happy about. The elbows on both arms were incredibly tight, immovable actually until I removed the arms from the torso and soaked them in extremely hot water for about a minute each. This loosens the joints enough to where I'm not afraid I'm going to snap the pegs that attach the forearm to the upper arm. At least the shoulders weren't tight like on the Skeletor I purchased previously. If your elbows or any joints are immovable on your MOTU figures don't force them, the pegs will break with too much force. Brings back great memories of fantastic playtime adventures with the Original Masters of the Universe. The packaging is reminiscent of the original toy. Once opened , the fully articulated figure of He-Man bears up to heavy playtime with children 5 years and older (also the grown collector).The arms bend at the elbows making it easy to pose in realistic imaginative battles. He-Man comes with a sword, shield and battle axe. His chest shield is a removable item so might be lost by young children.This is enjoyed by girls also....my 11 year old loved adding him into battles off the frozen towers of Elsa’s Ice Palace defending her from Evil Hans. We throughly recommend this action figure as must have toy for adventure play.

There was only some minor bending at the top of the card, but that was easily straightened by laying it blister side up, and placing a book across the top of the card to flatten it out. No crinkles, tears, or rips. The peg hole is un-punched, and the blister itself is perfect; no dents, dimples or scratches.The figure itself if awesome! It gives me fits of nostalgia for the original figures (which I still have) but with modern-day articulation. I had expected the axe to have a similar design to the original, but instead it comes across on the “plain” side. The shield and sword are both improvements however. The two halves of the sword go together better than either the vintage or Classics ones, and the shield, while being a little tricky to get on the figure’s arm, is a nice one-piece design compared to the original with the cardboard insert. The biggest issue I have is with some of the art choices for the character. The hair looks too yellow, the whites of his eyes aren’t painted and the top of the boots are yellow instead of brown. Things like that push the figure, in my opinion, a little too close to looking more like the cartoon than the original toy.Overall, I’m pleased with these figures as toys. They’re recognizable as the characters I know while updating the form factor to be entirely new. They are a good combination of the vintage and Classics lines, and are appealing to both adult collectors and children just discovering them for the first time (My 9-year-old daughter said they were fun, despite her being largely uninterested in MOTU as a franchise). My personal opinions about the art direction aside, I see a lot of potential for Masters of the Universe: Origins. I hope these He-Man and Skeletor figures are just a taste of what’s to come. 4.5/5.
