Aesthetic bottle with a cheap lid

Aesthetically pleasing travel bottles, I really like how they look and feel. I've gotten a surprising amount of compliments and questions about them. But these bottles are only as good as their lids, and mine broke during my first weeklong trip with them. I'm pretty gentle with them but 1 bottle lid completely sheared off, and a 2nd is barely attached. Pretty chapped the lid is the weak point, but unfortunately I can't recommend these for that reason.

I agree with other reviewer who caution user error! I own a bunch of matador products since the inception and have traveled the world with them...in carry ons and checked bags....and have had no issues. Be mindful of the directions: you can't overfill them and you shouldn't leave the contents in the containers for months on end without use. I love that they are flatter than most toiletry bottles so fit better in toiletry bag.

Expensive AND Leaks!

These do take up less space than a 3oz bottle, so they get a star for that. They also leak, so good thing there’s extra capacity. They don’t snap closed and they seem to easily pop open, despite attempts to securely close them. Also, if you use the hanging straps and open from the bottom, liquid is very quickly dispensed and it’s easy to get too much product. Wish I could return these. Expensive mistake.

GREAT for Travel. Negative Reviews are User Error.
14 February 2024

I've been using these for 3+ years. Never once leaked or punctured on me. Based on various user-submitted pictures, it seems they have been way too rough on the toiletry bottles. These things are sweet! Yes the liquids/soaps will dry up and harden but that's why you don't leave the liquids in the containers for months after you use them. IF that happens, it's your fault and easy to fix. Submerge them in a big bowl of water for a few hours then take a shower with them and rinse them out til all the hardened soap is gone. I own well over half the products that Matador makes and they are all incredible. Surprised by all the hate on this one.

Leakers And Not 3 Ounces
25 October 2024

Bought these for a backpacking trip in the Caribbean. 2 out of the 3 leaked before departing. Reloaded and the same two leaked again. Same on third attempt. This is NOT user error. Also, these are described as having a 3 ounce capacity. As photo shows, they hold 2.1 ounces which is 30% below spec. As a note, TSA allows 3.4 ounces as carry on. Making them 3.4 oz would have added almost zero weight. They seriously missed the mark on this all around.

Light weight but frustrating to have around

This could be so much better.I bought this on the fly when my toiletries got lost with my luggage and I needed to rebuild my Dop kit. While the product literature makes it sound like it's a good "idea", it's truly unrefined.First, I had to google how to open it.... (Insert negative buzzer sound) "X"!!The opening is small enough that pouring a shampoo or liquid soap is.... Problematic, the stream going in has to be kept narrow enough to let air out, or you'll get soap all over the outside. It's frustrating!!(Insert negative buzzer) "X"!!On either side of the fill opening are little divets. These divets get filled with soap when filling, or when squeezing out the soap. They are a pain, as they either require a proper rinse and old onto water, which may drip ... MoreThis could be so much better.I bought this on the fly when my toiletries got lost with my luggage and I needed to rebuild my Dop kit. While the product literature makes it sound like it's a good "idea", it's truly unrefined.First, I had to google how to open it.... Not so sure about this
17 June 2021

Good idea, but not so sure about the quality of this product. First, the hinges that hold the cap of this bottle already had the while look of use once the product was delivered. It definitely wasn't used, so it must be just from the fragility of the thing. Next sometime shampoo or shower gel would get into the depressed areas in the bottle cap and prevent it from completely closing. I have used it 4 times so far, and had one spill over accident, which is not good start at all. Also, advertised capacity is 90ml, but it really isn't possible to fill it with more than 80 ml of product - not sure why nobody is talking about it.A funny feature or a bug of this - depends on your view - is that it appears that it allows for vaporization of the product from the bag - I ... MoreGood idea, but not so sure about the quality of this product. Tried testing this theory in more controlled manner - it appears to be true - filled the bottle with 80 grams of OldSpice shower gel. Two weeks on, whole contents do weight 77 grams. Personally, think this is nice feature, lots of shower products can be more concentrated than they are coming originally.

Save Space and Time with Easy to Use Pouches
1 December 2023

I needed more space to fit glasses case, contacts, solution, etc in my DOP kit as I am aging. On discovering the Matador FlatPak bottles I've ended up saving a ton of space over the little travel bottles that soaps generally come in, plus I can just bring whatever soaps I already am using at home! These pouches are really easy to refill and I have spilled when transfering from my shampoo bottle and body wash bottle into the Matador FlatPak pouch. The loop is also great to hang in many showers so the pouch is dry when it's time to hit the road again! My selection were all black so I've labeled them, but it looks like now there are different colors for different soap/lotion/shampoo/conditioner/etc. Great idea and like that Matador is willing to spend time on ... MoreI needed more space to fit glasses case, contacts, solution, etc in my DOP kit as I am aging. Wanted to love -- wrong fabric for application
8 February 2023

I loved the idea of these, and am very happy with my other matador products. Unfortunately, they used a moisture wicking fabric for these pouches. I haven't had any issues with the cap opening, or leaking. But, the material itself pulls moisture out of the container leaving the outside damp with the wicked liquid of whatever you have stored inside.. I also had the same issue as another reviewer with soap drying out: I stored a liquid soap in one container (the one we all use..), and after a few days all of the moisture had been pulled out of the soap leaving a tough soap blob inside the pouch which was a real pain to clean out. The fact that this fabric can basically turn liquid soap into bar soap in a few days shows the impressive moisture wicking properties of the ... MoreI loved the idea of these, and am very happy with my other matador products. Such a good concept.

Matador flat packs are a joke. If you’re dying to part with $37 in the hopes that you will absolutely make your toilet kit a gooey mess on your next flight, this is for you. Very frustrating how the top will pop open all too frequently.Good materials, great concept, horrible execution, and of course now I want to return the three of them, but the one that last blew up in my travel kit, I’ve put somewhere and can’t find. Probably means no refund.Avoid.
