I might need to try this product a few more times, but right off the bat I am left undecided and underwhelmed. I applied this product and noticed it was brown and smelled a little like soy sauce. It did make my skin instantly darker due to the color. However, it was very greasy and left the palms of my hands a very dark brown which I had to wash off. The product absorbed into my skin slightly; but it was still greasy. I left this product on for about an hour in the Sun. When I took a shower, it all instantly came off. Therefore, I wouldn’t recommend if you are going to use this while swimming. After my shower, I feel I didn’t really look tanner than before using the product. This stuff is wonderful. I don't understand why so many people are saying it isn't--yes, it smells like soy sauce. No, it doesn't absorb that well. But WHO CARES when it gives me a BEAUTIFUL warm glow after just an hour or so in the sun! I have always struggled to get my legs tanned--it seemed to take me all summer. The first time I used it, I slathered a nickel-sized amount of this lotion on each leg, laid out for a half-hour on each side, and ended up two or three times as dark as I would have been if I'd laid out that long without Maui Babe! It works wonders for me--literally cuts my tanning time in half. I'd never bring this browning lotion for a day at the beach, it would rub off on everything and somehow still manage to cling to the surface of my skin, making me a sand magnet. I have very fair skin, and the aforementioned self imposed time limit, so it took about a full week to settle in, but it sure does work. I love the way my skin looks, and I've never burned when following my 20 min rule. My legs have always been the hardest part for me to tan, but I just keep looking at them now and admiring how tan and glowy they are. So altho I don't recommend this for a long day at the beach, if you want a good tan, I'd give this a try. Also, I purchased the after-sun lotion as well, and it is hands down the best I've used; not only does it smell wonderful without being too heavy, it's the ONLY one I've found that actually leaves my skin feeling moisturized for longer than an hour. Know what this product actually is

I feel like a lot of people are confused. This is not an instant tan. It is not meant to add color as soon as you apply it. The tint just happens because of how this is formulated. It does actually accelerate a very deep tan, and it's not just from its coloring. Yes, it's oily. Not something I'm going to bring if I'm drinking at a pool party just having low maintenance fun. It definitely smells like soy sauce. But for beach vacations where the majority of what I'm doing is laying around in the sun, and it's perfectly acceptable to show to dinner looking like I've just been at the beach all day, this is kind of magic in a bottle. I have gotten compliments all Summer about my tan. I am 37, and my skin just doesn't tan like it use to. This browning lotion gives me a tan like I had back in my twenties but not over the top and fake looking. The smell is not as bad as everyone says, its worth it. There's iodine in the formula so be cautious of staining towels. Think of a self tanner type residue, not too bad though. I started using this product in July at the beach. I already had a nice base tan beidre using this product and still got a little sun burnt. Just be aware of your sun exposure the first or second time applying it. It is a bit messy to use due to the color and you also need to wash your hands a couple of times after use if you don't want to end up with dark brown palms - which looked really weird on my very white skin and was not so easy to remove. Otherwise, I can't really certify to its browning level as I have not been really staying under the sun when using it. I just use it on my legs for them to not look too white at the beginning of summer and help naturally get a nicer skin tone when wearing skirts. I was in Hawaii when I first noticed this product. I honestly laughed at the idea of this working because I tan naturally. But for some reason I decided to try because it smelled delicious and wanted to even put my skin tone on my entire body since some parts of me only see the sun during bikini season. Let me tell you how this stuff works! It probably worked great on me because again I tan easily. But this brought out a beautiful glow on my skin. My husband was living every inch of me being as tan as I got because of this product. You do have to apply pretty regularly if you're really wanting to soak in the rays until you get your desired brown but I was very content with my results.
