Maui Jim Barrier Reef B792-06C Sunglasses Blue

This is my fourth pair of Maui Jim’s and I do not ever see myself purchasing any other brand when it comes to sunglasses. I still use the first pair I purchased roughly 16 years ago as my daily pair. As far as this new pair, they look fantastic, both the frames and the lenses. The view through the lenses maybe isn’t as vibrant as I expected compared to a couple of my other pairs, but they do work very well in bright sun. I was debating whether to go with one of the really light, rimless pairs, in order to maximize comfort on days where I may have the glasses on for an extended period of time-beach days, cookouts etc..., but I could not pass these up, they just looked too good. I had to take a bit of a chance on these since I couldn’t find a store that carried them in order to try them on first (sunglass hut does not carry this particular model, at least not the ones I visited), but I guessed well enough on the fit, and am happy with my purchase.

This is my second pair of Maui Jim sunglasses and I couldn't be happier!My first Maui Jims were the Hoku model that I had for over 10 years before an unfortunate accident broke the frame. The Maui Jim support team was did all that they could, but since they were discontinued, I was unable to replace them. However, they were kind enough to offer a discount toward a new pair. I was skeptical that I'd find another pair that I'd like as well as my Hoku, but with the help of the wonderful Maui Jim support staff, I found the Barrier Reef model and I was pleasantly surprised. I love the feel, the design of the frame and the lens quality is exceptional! I'm a customer for life. Mahalo, Maui Jim!

I never write reviews, but in this case I have to speak up. I've been a Maui jim owner since 1995. I've had many different styes and lens types over the years. I bought Barrier Reef's in February of 2019 then took them to Jamaica for a maiden voyage. The intense glare from being at the beach every day were no problem for these lenses ( neutral grey) I use them every day for my work. I'm a photographer for the tv news and they are on and off my face ALL the time. I'm not easy on glasses but these have never gotten loose like many of the other styles. I like them so much that I'm about to purchase the same ones with different lenses. Lenses for the more cloudy days where the neutral grey are a tad too dark.
