Maui Jim Cliff House B247-17 Silver Aviator Sunglasses

Shipping was so fast and sunglasses are great! Love the look and the fact that they are so light wieght! My husband has a different pair that he has scratched and sent for reapir twice and you can not beat the customer service. After his experience I vowed to only get Maui Jims! Well wirth the price for the service.

Asian face, high cheekbones...no problem with these.

Love these aviators so much I have two pairs. One in all black and one in gold/brown. MJ lenses are so clear and I know my eyes are protected with these. It's always tough for me finding good quality glasses since I am Asian with high cheekbones. When I find something that works, I buy multiple. I've scratched my lenses but that's not a problem because I can always get them repairs with the MJ repair program.

Cliff House in my house…

After enjoying my Stingrays for past few months I wanted to add to my choices with an aviator style. I ordered the Cliff House silver frame with Hawaiian Blue lens. Great size choice for me. I normally only go with wrap type frames to keep light leak and inside lens reflections to a minimum.Unfortunately these do reflect an awful lot inside the lens which is common for mirror type. That and the silver frame while thin, strong and very light weight do cause reflections off the silver frame too. Many get used to it. I hope I do as I find it distracting but I do love the frame style. I have absolutely no complaints on build quality or finish in any way.

Don't buy these if you want to do anything active

So disappointed in my Maui Jim's. I ABSOLUTELY loved my sunglasses when I purchased them. I am a pretty active person, so I needed something that would help reduce glare when I was running or biking. While these did cut down on the glare, the durability of the lens is just terrible.I'll preface this review by saying I treated my sunglasses like they were a child. I never, NEVER have spent $300 on sunglasses, but everyone always says, 'You get what you pay for'. So I decided to protect my eyes and invest in a solid pair. I couldn't see out of the lens so I took them to Sunglass hut and they informed me Maui Jim has a good warranty. I was pretty excited since I was hoping they could fix my lens. That was not the case. Since it was not a manufacturer defect, the best they could do was charge me $75 to replace the lenses. They also told me that some of my sunscreen probably rubbed off and caused the corrosion. 1. I do not wear sunscreen that often, and 2. I clean the sunglasses after every run/bike ride!So my question is this...why would you make sunglasses that will corrode in the event that sweat or sunscreen gets on them?! If I'm wearing sunglasses I'm likely outside and will also need sunscreen! That is absolutely absurd!! I can't believe I spent so much money on these sunglasses and now can't wear them when I exercise.I will NEVER purchase another pair of Maui Jims. I will NEVER recommend them to a friend. If I wanted a pair of expensive, non-functional sunglasses, I'd have purchased a designer frame. Don't market your sunglasses for all kinds of outdoor activity (boating, golf, etc) if the person wearing them can't even wear sunscreen or sweat without ruining the lens.

First Metal Frame Sunglasses.. .

Ordered both the Cliff House and Baby Beach to compare. Sent back Baby Beach just lens too small.Kept the Cliff House in Silver Titanium and Blue lens. I had just bought a pair of Sting Rays in May as I favor wrap frames.But was intrigued by the aviator frames popular the past 3 years. Glad I did as the lens are not too big for my small/medium size requirement.The variation Maui Jim made on this design is really nice. They are perfect size wise and I like the slightly brownish hue these Blue lens give. I’ve always favored dark grey lens. These are a welcome change.As for the frames they come nice and tight at the hinges and seem like they will hold up well.The entire package is very light an comfortable so far on day 1.

Great Style, Design, & Superior Quality of Optics

Cliffside may be the most versatile Maui Jim Design, fitting the majority of faces. The blue is a nice addition to any collection, and of the various coatings, could well be the brightest. Of the variety of quality sunglasses in my collection, Maui Jim have the clearest optics. Highly recommended.

Lightweight, comfortable, everyday use.

I've had my set of Cliff House's for 11 months. They are smaller in size, but the description for the glasses says for smaller to med sized faces. Very lightweight, thin, and probably not good for someone that is prone to dropping, banging, bending things. If you aren't careful with these sunglasses they will bend. I have the HCL Bronze lenses, they aren't great on the water, or a beach, but fine for most everyday use. I have one complaint and that is when I get sweaty they slide down my nose, and I'm constantly adjusting.

Love the Frame, Not the Gradient, Evolution Lens

I am a HUGE Maui Jim fan. I've owned two rimless prescription pairs and also a pair of HCL Bronze Eh Brahs. I had been wanting a pair of aviators, so I picked up the Cliff House in Gold Frame/HCL Bronze lens. I love the style of these aviators. These are the best looking aviator frames I've ever owned! However, the lens was not what I expected from Maui Jim.This style comes with the Maui Evolution lens, which is lighter and more shatterproof than glass; however, I have found that clarity suffers quite a bit with this lens material. Maybe I've just been spoiled by the clarity of the Superthin Glass lens in my Eh Brahs! It would be great if Maui Jim started making the lens for this model in Maui Pure (only available in Blue Hawaii in this frame) or the newer, ... MoreI am a HUGE Maui Jim fan. All of my other sunglasses have Maui Jim's more standard "bi-gradient" mirror coating, so when looking through the lens, there is no apparent variation in darkness. The MauiGradient, on the other hand, is darker at the top and gets progressively lighter down the lens. While this is certainly a very stylish look (and I like it purely from a style standpoint), the constant variation in darkness and tint drives me nuts. Anytime I move my head, I notice it. Perhaps not surprisingly, I find the darker part of the lens toward the top seems "muddier" in terms of clarity than the rest of the lens, which is distracting to me. I understand why many people love the MauiGradient style, as it is so fashionable, but I think it is just not ideal for me.Given these factors, I am considering returning this pair and instead ordering a prescription pair of the Cliff House, so that I can customize them with the bi-gradient lens instead of the single gradient. Perhaps they will also be able to substitute the brand new Maui Brilliant lens material for the Evolution in a prescription order, which would improve the clarity.

Maui Jim sunglasses are the BEST UV protection!

I love Maui Jim sunglasses (I own 6 pairs) and these are by far my favorites. They fit, are not too big, and the quality is superb. Living on a tropical island the sun is intense but I never worry about UV protection with Maui Jim sunglasses. They are THE BEST! Get the grey lenses - they look cool!
