Maui Jim Kipahulu Sunglasses Brown

These are fantastic sunglasses. I previously lost a pair of *** *** *** ***'s with the same Marlin frame, which I loved.. This time I wanted a slightly smaller lens and liked the combination of the marlin frame and bronze lenses. As always, with *** ***, the quality of the glasses is exceptional and the lenses are crystal clear (it's nice to have lenses that are actually made of glass, not plastic, like many other brands). They are not quite as dark as the neutral grey lenses that *** *** also do, so you can still feel the strength of the sun whilst facing direct sunlight in very sunny conditions, although the glare is still filtered through the polarised lenses. A huge bonus is the prices at which optimal optic sell them, and they were shipped, by courier, in a matter of days. Excellent service. I also bought the wife a pair of Stingray's, and she noticed the big step up in quality from her previous 'designer' sunglasses.

Awesome Shades / Model: Kipahulu

Excellent glasses!! The fit & feel is superb. After almost two years of having them and hardly even wearing them, the frames became sticky to the touch for some reason. I called MJ, sent them in & they replaced the frame & now we are back in business! When I received them back & walked outside & looking through the water like they do, I’ve been wondering why I have not wore these as much as some others I have…..well, I can’t pull these things off my head now, I’m about to try & wear these things out, lol. If you are on the fence, just jump the fence & get them, you’ll be happy you did!!

Great sunglasses

I originally bought a pair of Peahi but had to return them as they were simply too big for my face. I opted to try the Kipahulu in Bronze with the Marlin frames and they're great. Nice finish to the frames and optical clarity of the thin glass lenses is second to none. The Bronze tint has a lot less colour shift than I expected from such a tinted lense, so traffic lights and other signs look normal, just more defined and with more contrast. I've used these glasses for several days in full sun, partly sunny, cloudy, and overcast days, and they're a nice darkness level without being to dark or too bright. Great for driving with high contrast, and the polarized lenses really cut the glare from reflections. Oh, my gosh, great!

Sadly, I finally had to replace my ! 15 years old ! Cyclone sunglasses, which had been all around the world with me (I dropped them on my tile floor, something that they could just not survive.) Anyway, after finding that the Cyclone style had been discontinued, I went on a search to replace them. After comparing a zillion Maui Jim styles (of course I was only going to buy another pair of MJ's!) and chatting with customer service a few times (so patient with me, thank you!) I finally decided on the Kipahulu's. I was a little worried because the temple measurement was 120 vs. the Cyclone measurement of 135, but that turned out not to be a problem (must be just the difference in the shape of the temple piece.) The rubber tips on the ends of the temples are fantastically comfortable, as are the embedded nose pads. The glasses are exactly what I was looking for to replace my wrap-around Cyclones and I am super happy with the fit and look. These are listed as being for a Medium head and they are a little tight on me, but the spring hinges make them flexible and comfortable. So glad I bought them, I look forward to wearing these as long or longer than my Cyclones!

Outstanding!

I spend a good deal of time on the water, boating & paddle boarding in my home state of Utah (Lake Powell) and Maui, HI. In my younger days I had the opportunity to charter and captain rental boats in the Whitsunday Islands, Queensland, Australia, Florida Keys and the Bahama's where being able to see hazards, reefs and underwater objects, clearly is highly desirable. I love my Maui Jim's, wear them daily and just recently had a lens replaced due to my bad. Customer service is exemplary. Satisfied customer of 30+ years. JPB

Simply The Best!

Awesome sunglasses! Always wore cheap sunglasses but decided to give Maui Jim a try. There’s no comparison in the quality of these sunglasses. I ordered Kipahulu, Marlin color with Neutral Grey lenses. The fit is like they were custom made just for me. My eyelashes do not rake the lenses with every blink which was a constant problem with the cheap glasses. The clarity of the polarized lenses is amazing. They are fairly heavy but not bothersome at all just well made. Maui Jim sunglasses are well worth it if quality and fit are important to you.

Summer Beach Bum and Winter Ski Bum

Unfortunately I had to repurchase these glasses because I lost my first pair while bagging leaves this Fall. They fell into a bag of leaves and I was about to open ALL bags to search for them, but that day I bagged 35 bags in total. But trust me I loved those glasses so much I really had to stop myself from searching all 35 bags for them. So instead I reordered the same pair, these are the best glasses I’ve ever owned. They make my days at the beach so pleasant and my days on the ski slopes so enjoyable. The fit is great and the view is phenomenal during bright sunny days on the beach and on the ski slopes. I would highly recommend them to all.

The best of all my many high priced sunglasses

I’ve had these glasses for several years. Best glasses ever. Sent them back once for repair and came back good as new.Living on the beach with the bronze Hcl lens. I use them everyday for everything, including driving, boating, skiing, Motorsports, flying, these are the best of everything.

Too bad you discontinued the typhoon model

Too bad you discontinued the typhoon model. marlin frame is the closest I could find. Same top quality glass lenses (grey). disappointed that you do not continue to supply the excellent hard cases that I was accustomed to. Good thing I have 4 from previous purchases. Threw away the folding case/apparatus you sent (useless!) Fortunately I still have one amber lenses Typhoon. I do remember your return/repair services that make this product worth the initial expense.
