Maurten Gel Caf 100

$4.82

(2,453 reviews)

Energy capsulated in a natural hydrogel. Each serving contains 100 mg of caffeine and delivers 25 grams of carbohydrates. Built with seven ingredients – no added colourants, preservatives or flavours. The GEL 100 CAF 100 contains 100 mg of caffeine – that’s the equivalent of 1,5 espressos – or one cup of brewed coffee. That’s a lot compared to many of the traditional gels out there. It delivers 25 grams of carbohydrates through a unique blend of fructose and glucose (ratio of 0.8:1). It packs a high weight to energy ratio and doesn’t contain any added flavours, preservatives or colourants. Just like all of our products, it’s vegan-friendly. Use the GEL 100 CAF 100 on its own during shorter durations, or combine it with other Maurten products to ensure you have enough carbohydrates throughout your session.

Best gel, ever. The flavorless (kinda syrupy but not really aftertaste, like Zak M said) is baller for me. and the consistency is the best out there. I am not a fan of the traditional gu texture and find the "hydrogel" consistency to be the bomb. References Maurtens guide to really helps to get a bombproof fueling strategy that I find to be unbeatable from long days in the mountains skiing to trail runs.

I've been very happy with my experience with Maurten gels. Having tried other gels, I find these to be the cleanest I've used and I really like the slightly sweet taste. I tend to get tired of flavors quickly, but haven't had this experience using Maurten's gels and drinks. And a big plus for me personally has been the jello-like consistency. I wear Invisalign aligners and can't chew bars when I'm active, so the consistency of these is a perfect mix between being soft enough to consume easily and solid enough to not be a sticky mess in my mouth. I'd definitely recommend these!

I really like this product. There are a couple of things though. Firstly, though very easy to open, I find that the wrapping can send my fillings on edge! It’s not that I put the wrapping in my mouth or that I have fillings on my front teeth. But when I do go to take the gel, if the wrapping was to get close to my back teeth, I can feel it! I don’t know why?Secondly, cost!! Very VERY expensive - in my opinion! I’m new to marathon training and finding out about taking on fuel whilst out on long runs! I have tried a few different gels and I find some hard to open and I hate the runny ones where you get stuck up to the eye balls!! I do like these ones, though I find them hard to swallow the further on I get into my run! But that’s just a “me” thing! I have had about ... MoreI really like this product. If it works for Kilian and Eliud Kipchoge it will work for me, or maybe I just fell prey to Maurten's excellent marking strategy. So far I've been using both the caffeinated and noncaffeinated Maurten Gels for several months and have been happy with the results. Both gels have this slightly syrupy aftertaste to them but other than that basically have no distinct flavor, which I enjoy. With the consistency of jello, these have been a nice change of pace from the thick syrup-like texture of most other gels. Overall with just a handful of ingredients, and a good dose of caffeine Maurten Gels will most likely continue to be my go-to gels for some time to come.

Absolutely no stomach distress!
23 June 2023

I tried Maurten gels before the Boston Marathon as this is what they give out during the race. I am so glad I did! I have had gut issues with several other gels but since I started using Maurten gels, I have no such issues, which is a great relief in a marathon! The consistency is slightly more jelloid than many other gels but is easy to swallow (or semi-chew) and is not sickly sweet like so many other gels. The gel and the drink come in caffeinated and non-caffeinated forms so you can pick and choose whether or not you want to add the extra kick of caffeine as part of your race plan. It's a brilliant product, highly recommended.

Great Taste. Not Sweet
23 March 2023

Like some gels on the market they are sweet and gooey. I've been using these now several months incl their caffeine versions and I really love them once you get used to texture [ kind of like jelly ] they are great. Easily to use and digest and no sticky fingers when your putting wrapping in your rear pockets. Certainly feel improved NRG levels when I've taken a gel. Of you're not 100% with what you're using now these are certainly worth researching and using 5/5

I have a caffeine addiction
20 June 2023

Maurten gels have a unique consistency - they are soft gels you can almost bite and not sticky or sickly sweet. I found the texture weird at first but like it now. The gels are unflavoured, which is also kind of cool. The caffeinated gel has a slightly bitter flavour compared with non-caf, but it is not unpleasant. Nomming one on an 18 km run this morning had me running up hills with a smile on my face. Would buy again.

Maurten Caffine Gels
15 May 2023

I love these little beasties. The texture reminds me of jelly at a kids party. You can feel the boost in energy levels soon after taking them. (That could be the caffine!!) They dont spill because technically they are not a liquid like most other gels. You dont need water but hey, you can take them any way you want. I never go out on trail without any of these because I'm addicted to caffine and they satisfy my desire epecially on the long runs where the only coffee is your backpack.

Neutral flavour and easy on the GI
27 March 2023

I consumed 10 of these during a 40k marathon training run to test my GI system. I did not experience any issues. My energy levels remained consistent throughout the 3.5 hr effort. The neutral taste and consistency support this level of ingestion for me. I've used other gels in the past but would not use anything other than Maurten for training or races.

The only gel for me
16 June 2023

I have used various gels for my running. They have ranged from the good, bad and ugly. Some have been so poor in taste, I have had to stop taking them before they are finished. Although the Maurten Gel's are a bit thicker in texture, for some reason I find them easier to swallow. The taste is fairly nondescript, which makes them perfectly palatable. In terms of performance, I haven't found anything better yet and will continue using them.
