Maybelline City Bronzer & Contour Powder 300 Deep Cool

So I’m not the type to really wear foundation everyday, I’d much rather a primer, bb or cc cream and then a lovely bronzed face. There are so many bronzers out there to choose from and believe me I’ve had my fair share of purchase from the high end to the cheapest ones. And this is within my top 3, it’s a great product and a great price. I love the design and the different shades in this bronzer, the light shades give me a high lighted effect and tones my skin with a beautiful subtle glow. Be mindful don’t put too mush on the brush just a light sweep then tap the brush off on the pot to ensure you don’t get huge clumps. This is Maybelline city bronzer and it retails for $9.99. It’s a bronzing and contour powder that has a natural finish. Had a medium amount of pigment, buildable. Several shades available. Shade 100 is for fair complexions, neutral undertone. I liked that this didn’t lean yellow. Shade 200 is more golden, also neutral undertones. Shade 300 is a red based shade. All 3 performed well, no issues with blending.

It does an excellent job at doing its job, especially for a moderately reasonable drugstore price-point. The shade range is both inclusive of and accessible to most any makeup-wearing gal or guy. I seemed to always find it laying on my skin a bit TOO warm, but I honestly think I was just trying not to love it so I could justify going back to my . If Maybelline started infusing the divine smell of a tanning bed salon deep in the tropics in their bronzers my heart would presumably have no qualms in making a (almost 50%) cheaper product my bronzer holy grail. And as relevant and responsive as the brand has proven to be, it wouldn’t surprise me if they kicked off summer with a remarkably familiar fragranced product drop.

Maybelline's City Bronzer might be one of the best matte/satin drugstore bronzers I've come across. (Aside from Physician's Formula Butter Bronzer which has my heart.) Formulated with whipped cocoa butter (nice, very subtle smell), it has a beautiful velvety/creamy satin touch that builds effortlessly and gives you a natural bronzed and soft contoured look. Pigmented, yet very easy to work with, no shimmer whatsoever. Applies evenly without any patchiness. Holds up on my skin well throughout the day. This bronzer comes in 3 different shades: Light, Medium, Deep. The Medium is a beautiful golden neutral bronzer

LOVE, one of the best bronzer formulas out there!

The perfect cool-toned bronzer for fair-skin. I have trouble with most bronzers looking either to patchy or orange on me. This is a beautiful formula that blends like a dream and so flattering. I use the 200 shade to contour cheeks, nose and forehead and dust the lighter 100 shade to bronze over for a natural look. I apply ELF primer infused blush over in color Always Cheeky and it is the best drugstore combo on fair skin! My only wish is that the packaging was more sturdy. 2 of mine have broken easily early on. A mirror in the packaging would be top-notch!!! Dear Maybelline, if you are listening -I would pay $1-2 more for this with better packaging. If you are still listening, I would adore a City Bronzer Contour palette with sturdy packing and a mirror!

Long Lasting!!

Listen, I have tried every bronzer there is, and this one is the best of the best. I work in a hospital and sometimes a girl wants to wear makeup even though I have to wear a mask and face shield. Throughout the day everything else melts. But this lasted 12 hours and didn't budge. I'm also extremely pale and this fit for my skin tone perfectly. It didn't turn orange when I blended or leave a grey undertone either which I struggle when I wear Benefit Hula Bronzer. It blends super well, and it's not expensive. Trust me, this is a great summer bronzer for us pale girls.

I use the fair shade 100. For reference in the winter I wear L'Oréal freshwear in the shade pearl (400). And in the summer I wear L'Oréal in the shade Linen (425). Okay, now onto the product! So, this bronzer is very easy to blend and looks very natural. I find the formula forgiving as well. It's not SO pigmented that you need a really light hand, or so colorless that you have to really build it up to get some color. It's a good middle ground. I will note that this bronzer works better for me in the winter vs in the summer. In the summer I have to build it up a lot to get a very very natural bronze, so I usually opt for my butter bronzer during the summer months instead. PRETTY, BUT NOT FOR ME

I was almost out of my old bronzer and then found out the color had been discontinued. I went to Ulta with my old bronzer compact open and did pan-to pan comparisons of other bronzers to find a similar shade. Maybelline City Bronzer in its deepest shade (300) looked as close as I could find. After purchasing and applying it the next day, I saw that the color was nowhere near my old bronzer shade. On my skin, the color was a light red with light gold shimmer. It was pretty, but it looked like a blush/highlighter instead of a bronzer. Maybelline, please add a BFOWN-toned bronzer to your line. Sadly, I had to return the product.

Warning: Caused SEVERE cystic acne

I was super excited about this bronzer after seeing some of my favorite beauty gurus recommend it as a cost-effective dupe for higher end alternatives like Fenty. The color is great and it went on smooth. It also lasted all day. The problem? It caused severe, cystic pimples in the areas where I applied it. I gave it a few days to be sure, but I am convinced it is this product. The zits are literally lined up in the areas where I brushed this on (lower cheeks and temples). I checked the ingredients list and dimethicone (a silicone based element that is terrible for acne prone skin) is the third ingredient! While dimethicone is hard to avoid in many cosmetic powders, it is rarely that high on the list. im not kidding when i say this is better than most of the high-end products out there. This bronzer is the prefect shade and undertone. it gives warmth to the skin whilst having cool in there to give structure. not many bronzers can do that. this also blends like a dream, seriously. you couldnt be heavy ended with this if you tried. i cant say enough good things about this product, i just love it so much! i highly recommend!
