This mascara makes my lashes look the longest they look with any mascara. This, however leads me on to...The bad:Length: Although length can be a good thing, you can have too much of a good thing! It actually seems to grab on to the longer lashes, missing any volume that I have from new, shorter hairs at the roots. I get no soft, plush volume, just extra long lashes that actually look more sparse than they do without mascara.Weird, spindly, zig-zag lashes: When I wear any other mascara, my lashes all flow in the same direction and fan out equallly. When I wear Maybelline Sky High, the lashes seem to go in different directions, some crossing over, some leaving big gaps between them and the next lash. Whilst they look very long, they look like spindly spider's legs with big spaces between them which is not how they look with any other mascara.Volume: I get zero volume from this mascara. I don't have particularly sparse lashes but this mascara somehow manages to make my lashes look more sparse than they are. Again, I think it is favouring length over everything which I have slowly learned is not a good look.Feel: This mascara gives quite a harsh, wiry feel to the lashes. It is not uncomfortable but if you were to feel your lashes when you are wearing it, you can definitely detect a spiky, wiry feel.It may sound like I hate this mascara. I do not. I have just realised that I enjoy a mascara that gives volume, that is less stiff in its feel on the lashes, that looks more plush and luxurious rather than just giving me a few very, very, very long but sparse lashes.

Wet and smooth texture that when applied does not stick the lashes together, does not smudge when applied, does not smudge throughout the day and does not smudge when is cleaned. The long-lasting effect of Ski Hight is excellent and I didn't find it necessary to reapply the mask again throughout the day/night. Pigmentation at the right point without being too strong or too weak and the color is close to black but with a subtle difference to something more vibrant. Formula with bamboo extract that nourishes the lashes, which is noticeable. One of the best products I received from the SD Community for testing & review and I loved it. Thank you SD!

Maybelline's Sky High mascara in other colours has been a staple of mine for a long time. It claims to provide volume and length, be suitable for sensitive eyes, and to extend lashes, while being lightweight and easy to remove. It now comes in three new colours, and I have been lucky enough to test the new burgundy shade.It comes with a thin, flexible brush that makes it easy to apply, even to the outer corner; I applied it in a zigzag motion from the root, and even after one coat, I could see that my lashes looked longer and more defined. I did pre-curl my lashes, as they are naturally short and straight, but in my opinion it didn't even need a second coat. I've never worn a colour mascara before, so I don't really know what I was expecting. The burgundy shade is a really pretty purple on the brush or swatched onto my hand, but once applied it kind of just looks like a soft black/brown. Personally I do like this on myself, but it doesn't really deliver the colour payoff promised and it feels a little boring. I do think the viral claims that it brings out blue eyes are true, mine did seem to pop a little more, and this colour makes my lashes look like they're naturally long and curled rather than being obviously mascara like a black would be, which makes it extremely wearable day to day rather than being a statement like the blue colour, but the fact that it's burgundy really does just disappear on dark lashes (it may show up as more pigmented on someone with blonde lashes).So overall, I do like this mascara. It lengthens, has great staying power while being easy to remove, and is very comfortable to wear, and the burgundy shade is very natural and wearable...it just doesn't look as burgundy on as it does in the tube, so the colour is a bit of a let down.

I curled my lashes and applied one layer. It looks decent in one layer, but nowhere near the lengthening effects you see in product photos. I feel like it clumps lashes together a bit, which gives the appearance of thicker, but fewer and very separated lashes without too much volume. Overall, itâs not terrible but itâs an odd formula that can give a bit of a cakey spider-legs look and I probably wonât be reaching for this often and wouldnât repurchase once I use it up.

I'm absolutely obsessed with the Maybelline Sky High Blue Mist Mascara. It's a fun and flirty take on the original formula, delivering dramatic lashes with a unique twist. If you're looking to add a touch of color to your makeup routine or just want to try something new, this mascara is definitely worth checking out. This mascara is suitable for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers. It's also ophthalmologist-tested and allergy-tested. I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking to try a different subtle look.
I received this to test as a member of the Superdrug Community.I am a massive fan of Maybelline Sky High and it has been my ride or die mascara for many years now. I have it in black, cosmic black, brown, waterproof and now burgundy.As with the other variations of this mascara, the wand is flexible and allows you to reach even the smaller lashes on the inner corner of the eyes and creates the perfect volume and length. This is the type of mascara brush that I would always opt for as it does everything I need it to do, effortlessly. It dries quickly and you can add a second coat. However after using it more and testing how this appears on my eyes as opposed to the black I can really see that the burgundy (appearing soft black) does bring out the colour of my eyes more.I will add though, that I decided to do some secondary investigatory work and enlisted my mum for her opinion and she said in certain lights, and on the longest lashes you could tell it was not a black mascara. When I've worn the mascara generally and not asked no one has noticed that it's not black.In my opinion, if you're looking for a coloured mascara that will be really pigmented and show up like it does in the tube, I don't think the burgundy is for you (if you have fairer lashes maybe). If, however you're looking for a soft black mascara and one that the actual tone of the mascara will bring out the colour in your eyes more, I'd opt for this and give it a go. Oil remover one one eye did nothing, so I had to switch to cleansing water eventually, which added to extra rubbing I still had to do with both eyes. So, one eye was more red than the other, but I managed to take it off this way. Then I did the usual facial wash to finish off the job. OVERALL IMPRESSION: Like the staying power, donât like the removal process. Will probably use it for long days when I need an almost waterproof mascara, but will get a true tubing mascara for every day use.

With 3 coats, the Blue started to get more vibrant...but, it still didn't look bright enough.The 4 coats finally got the Mascara to be a stunning electric Blue and noticeable from all angles and lighting.But, the more coats you apply, the more the Mascara starts to clump and flake, and lashes start to stick together...even if you apply the coats quickly before it dries.I was surprised by this! The Blue Mascara looked so bright and vibrant on the wand, I honestly thought that the electric Blue would show up on my lashes with 1 or 2 coats...but, I was wrong.As for the formula, I only saw a very tiny bit of added length, no curl at all...so you will need to use a Lash Curler, and this Mascara is lacking in the volume department.I removed 1 star for these reasons.However, after saying all of that, I still like this Mascara...it's decent, color is gorgeous (once you build it up) and this Mascara doesn't give you the dreaded "raccoon eyes".So, would I purchase this product with my own money??Overall, I think for the budget-friendly price and the fact that it's a decent formula (not the worst I've ever tried, but not the best) and that the color's end result is eye-catching...yes, it's definitely worth purchasing to try a Blue Mascara!**Pictures: I included a few photos of me wearing the Blue Mascara, you'll notice that in some pictures the Blue looks very vibrant and in other photos it looks very dark and not noticeably Blue - this is due to the angle of my face and how the light hits the Mascara**
Thank you Influenster and Maybelline for sending me the Sky High mascara in the shade Blue Mist. I really love the wand on this mascara it has tiny teeth in the comb that do a good job separating my lashes to prevent clumping. I found the wand to be flexible, making it easier to reach in the inner corner. I was also able to manipulate the wand at an angle to get my outer lashes to fan.This formula adds length and volume without being too thick. I found the formula to be wetter than most but did not experience any smearing or flaking. The extra moisture in the formula made it easier to work with. I probably would have never tried a blue mascara if it wasnât made available to review and Iâm so glad I was given the opportunity. Iâm not sure if they did a formula change or if it has anything to do with adding color to the formula but it performed way better this time for me.
