This flour has the most amazing taste. Dont expect pure white pastry and sponge cakes. After baking it has a very slight light caramel colour. I wont use anything else.

I cannot praise this flour enough. My husband makes all our bread. He specialises in sourdough and pugliese. During lockdown, we had to try a variety of other strong whites, so we have a wide experience now of trying other flours. To anyone starting to make proper artisanal sour dough bread, or pugliese made with a biga, this is the main flour to use, although you do need to use some rye flour as well. Remember the very strong on the label as there others available. One of the bonuses of online delivery, I am less likely to get the wrong one

It wasnt until I found Bakery Bits that I realised how the same type of flours were different from each other. Stoates Organic flour has a wonderful taste as do all the other flours I have bought. During these difficult times delivery has been excellent and I will always get my flour and accessories from here.

I use a bread maker and recently the bread has not risen well. Long story short for a 300gr wholemeal and 100gr white loaf. I add two teaspoons of lemon juice and the result is perfect. Told by manufacturers of my bread maker due to inferior quality of last harvests wheat. Could be as I have made bread for many, many years and this never happened before so lemon juice is the answer

Excellent fine flour
16 October 2021

Was sent for free by Ocado in exchange for a review. Not usually brand loyal for plain flour and buy whats on offer. However, this was much finer and made great crumble. Looking forward to using it Yorkshire puddings as hoping theyll rise even more!

Good as my usual one
19 October 2021

I'm writing a review because I got a free sample from Ocado. So Ocado gave me this to try. I use this instead of my usual one...did I see any difference? no....but then again my usual one is a top quality brand so I can then say that it's a good flour. Packet is easy to open and good size. Did a good job so thumbs up

It’s all about size
23 October 2022

I particularly like the size of this item, as I do not do as much baking as I used to. I find the larger size too much to use up before the best before date. The flour itself is good too.The only down side is that it is more expensive to buy the small size.

Plain or self-raising?
21 January 2023

I am utterly convinced this is self-raising flour in a plain flour bag... Have been using same recipe for Yorkshire puddings for 20+ years, but with this flour they come out like American pancakes. There is something amiss here somewhere.

The best all purpose flour!
12 October 2021

I am reviewing this as Ocado sent me a free sample. There?s a reason this company has been going so long. The quality of this product means you can use it with confidence for everything. Cakes, pancakes, gravy, biscuits. It has never let me down.

This levels up my pie
16 October 2021

Im reviewing this product because I got a free sample from Ocado. I use plain flour to make my chicken pies for my family and friends, I will be honest here and admit that I usually opt for the cheaper option, however, after using this and tasting the results, I'm converted. you really can taste the difference and I love it!
