I have not eaten these for many years as I adopted a life style, shall we say, in which I no longer ate products made with porcine gelatine. Jaffer Cakes were among such products. Some years ago, I learnt that Jaffer Cakes, as well as many other products, abandoned the use of porcine gelatine as an ingredient in their products. Nevertheless, I was not moved at all to purchase Jaffer Cakes as I have since become an adult. Yet on my last online shop, I saw these and thought what the hey, and bought some. So, what do I think Just as nice as I remember them, they are indeed a classic treat, albeit smaller in circumference than I remember another sign of the times perhaps

Growing up in the US, I was unaware of the awesomeness that is McVitie’s milk chocolate digestive biscuits. When I moved to England, these fantastic treats were one of the first things I discovered at the grocery store. The word “digestive” had me worried at first. But they are actually a shortbread cookie covered on one side by a layer of delectable chocolate. They are so delicious! Try one, you will not be disappointed! Sadly, I didn’t take any pictures of them, hence the picture of the Houses of Parliament in London.

Thanks to influenster, I was able to test this product in exchange for my honest review. These biscuits are very delicious, lightweight and crunchy they don't make you feel too full after eating them. Not too sweet or salty, they can also be enjoyed by themselves or with your morning tea. Suitable to use when baking or making desserts as you can easily break them down with your hands or using a blender. All the above makes these biscuits a perfect addition to your kitchen cupboards!

A Biscuit with a cuppa has always been something I enjoy and a firm favourite has always been the Traditional Classic Digestive. It's been a while since I had eaten them however after receiving a pack I was delighted to discover they were exactly as I remembered them. The delicious traditional taste with just the right amount of crunch, certainly not dry and not to sweet as some biscuits can be and absolutely perfect when dunked in my cuppa! These have now become a regular feature back in my biscuit barrel ready for when I want a treat
I love digestive biscuits. They have the perfect balance of sweetness and crunch, making them a great snack to enjoy any time of day. The biscuits are not too thick or too thin, and have a satisfying crumbly texture. I especially appreciate that they are made with whole wheat flour, which adds a nice nuttiness to the flavour. They are very versatile. They are delicious on their own but also pair well with a cup of tea or coffee. I often use them as a cheesecake base and they always turn out fantastic. 100% recommend.
I haven't had a plain digestive in years. They have been around forever and having these I have realised why. They are just a great biscuit. A great taste and a great biscuit for dunking in your tea or coffee. They don't make a mess everywhere and do stand up to a lot of dunking. Yes their may be fancier biscuits these days, but sometimes you want a plain, great tasting and versatile biscuit! Great for using for bases of cheesecakes etc.... as well.
McVitie’s original digestive biscuits are all time favourite I love these original digestive biscuits. Taste is so good, crunchy and delicious I love the quality of this product.Golden-baked to a secret recipe since 1892, McVitie’s original Digestives are loved for their classic crunch, distinctive, salty-sweet wheat flavour and true Britishness. This is true always in my grocery shopping list and everyone enjoys them at home. Highly recommended.
McVitie's Original Digestives Biscuits are a classic option for those looking for a simple, no-frills biscuit. These biscuits are made with wheat flour and are lightly sweetened, making them a great snack to enjoy with a cup of tea or coffee. One of the things I appreciate about these biscuits is their texture. They have a satisfying crunch and crumble when you bite into them, which makes them enjoyable to eat. I completely agree with many other commentors. For decades McVities Digestive biscuits had been my comfort food and travel staples, but not any more. They now taste bland, with a different texture, and the changes are not for the better. I understand about rising costs, and I am willing to pay more for the quality, yet the quality is not maintained any more, so there is no reason for me to buy this. What a shame. Why alter something that used to work well?
Definitely changed recipe, tastes less buttery, more granular, and way thinner chocolate. I wish they would stop trying to hoodwink customers. We know it's costing more to make things. We also buy certain brands because of reliability of consistent flavour and texture. Make the pack smaller, increase the price, but don't substitute cheaper ingredients unless they maintain the same reliable flavour. I will never buy these again.
