This compressor is equal to the SmittyBilt high volume air compressor for just a little bit more money. The reason I chose this compressor over the SmittBilt is because the Mean Mother has a 5-year warranty. And it has a cool remote control to turn it on and off. Such as if you were inside the cab monitoring the air pressure via TPM reading you can turn it off then go plug into another tire and get back in the vehicle. Could be handy if its windy, rainy, snowy, stormy, or just too hot!The clamps are super heavy duty and the hose is nice as well. I like the hose better than the coiled hose that comes with other air compressors. It's also made in Australia, not CHINA as most if not all of the other air compressors are. Asked if the 5-year warranty was good in the USA and they said"The 5yr warranty covers mechanical, electrical and workmanship excluding wear n tear.Warranties still apply in the US as we have a warehouse/distributor there who looks after all of that for us.You won’t be disappointed"

Overall, the compressor has average performance comparable to the VIAIRs I have seen airing up. I have a stock Rubicon Recon with 32s. If I'm efficient, it takes about 15-18 minutes to get all 4 tires from 15 to 37 PSI. If it is a 90 degree plus day the compressor shuts off due to heat build up by the 4th tire and requires a few minutes to cool down. Cooler days, no problem. The included remote was shipped without a battery door but I don't use it anyway. The storage case is a flimsy fabric case and I plan to upgrade to a Rigid case once I find the correct size. The inline tire gauge is not accurate at all. I have found that a 50 PSI reading on the compressor gauge translates to about 37-38 reading on my own gauge as well as the Jeep's tire pressure sensor reading. ... Battery hookups are small and need to be carefully placed so as not to pop off.As the title says, the compressor gets the job done. I've used it about 10 times and the performance has been consistent. To prolong the compressor life, unless crowded or not available, I tend to use the airing stations at the park.If you frequently wheel where there is no airing station, this would also make a nice backup compressor. As the military says, 2 is 1 and 1 is none.

I have not used it much BUT I was very disappointed that there are no accessories available for it AND particularly disappointed that my accessories from my defunct ARB compressor don’t fit.I have had to source a fitting converter to use those ARB accessories.Perhaps MM should consider supplying adapters to allow it to connect to other systems.

I read a few reviews of different brands before I decided to purchase this one. Worked well when I used it and was reasonably priced. I think it is a great addition to any 4x4 kit where you don't want to pay a premium for a non portable system.
Would have been great if this company could get the thing to me in a reasonable time period (less than 5 weeks). It arrived two days after I left on my trip around Australia and had to be returned. The equipment might be OK but the logistics by this company are terrible. Buy it elsewhere.
The compressor is really well built. So much better than equivalent priced items on the likes of eBay. The hose is really thuck rubber and very high quality. It pumps really fast. Don't be decived by flow ratings. I had another compressor with suposedly higher LPM rate and dual pistons but it took forever to inflate a tyre. This one will go from 15 - 40 psi on 4x4 tyres in minutes. The remote is a blessing. At first I thought it was a bit gimmicky but it is really convenient. The only negative thing I have found is that the pressure guage is really inaccurate. I can pump 4 tyres to the same PSI reading on the guage and then find they will all be different according to another guage or my car tyre pressure sensors. I've found the best way round this is to over ... MoreThe compressor is really well built. So much better than equivalent priced items on the likes of eBay. I can pump 4 tyres to the same PSI reading on the guage and then find they will all be different according to another guage or my car tyre pressure sensors. I've found the best way round this is to over inflate slightly and then use my deflators to deflate to the required PSI.
Powerful compressor, however the battery for the remote was dead on arrival. Of greater concern was the supplied pressure gauge which maxed out at 150psi - this means normal 4WD pressures of say 35-50psi can only be roughly set, needing a separate smaller range pressure gauge to make sure the pressure is as required.
I received my Mean Mother air compressor on time, in a well packaged box. I've only used it a few times so far but really like it. It is a heavy duty unit, and puts out air quickly. I wanted the portability of an air compressor rather than an on board mounted unit. This fits the bill. The components seem well made and the remote makes it really handy. The first time I would hook up the tire attachment hose and have my wife run the remote. It was really fast. It is a quality unit. Everything is quality that is except for the carrying case it comes in. They really skimped on this. It is a very thin bag that I don't expect to last long. Eventually I'll get a different bag. Other than that, I recommend this product.
Well I finally had the chance to use my compressor in the real world. It worked great. I connected it to the battery set it on my bumper and the hose was long enough to reach all of the tires on my JKU. The speed was faster than I expected but what I hoped for. The remote is great. The gauge shows high while the air is flowing but as soon as you stop the compression with the remote the gauge is correct. It took less than a half hour to get the unit out of the Jeep, hook everything up and fill the four 35’s from 18 psi to 40 psi. My buddy that was with me has a 20 year old compressor that he is going to replace with one of these.
I have a large air compressor I use at home. As a new jeep wrangler owner, I wanted a portable compressor to take on the trail. This is the perfect answer. Clip to the battery and ready to go. Hose easily reached around to all four tires on my 2-door. No kink hose and no need to stretch out the hose. Did get warm but not too bad and cooled quickly. Very minimal vibration. Same as the smitty compressor (my friend has one), the pressure gauge is off about 15 psi. Use your own gauge. Compressor does come with remote on off. Not sure if needed but pretty cool. I did not see any other compressors come with a remote. Very satisfied.
