I bought this after seeing a Mecca staff member use it while trialling products on me. It’s a great product that effectively removes a large amount of product from your brush, quickly. This in turn has allowed me to have a smaller brush collection, as I can clean my brushes between uses with different products.A very strong alcohol smell unfortunately takes one star off for me, though I do understand the need for alcohol to disinfect. It’s a personal thing, I really don’t like the smell.

I bought this at the recommendation of a Mecca staff many years ago and I have to say this is the best purchase I’ve ever made! It cleans the brushes instantly, dries instantly and you can use the brush immediately. It’s always in my makeup kit, I love it. A makeup artist must-have!!!

I bought this product to clean my makeup brushes. I had one brush in particular that I had tried to clean without the right product and it was a foundation brush. So I hadn't used it since. The spray nozzle was great in my opinion and provided a good spray of product. I had to use it several times with cleaning the brush on toilet paper in between. I found myself squeezing the brush and having alot of liquid foundation drip out. The end result was a foundation brush that looked and felt like new. I was very impressed. I have since used it on my powder brushes as well with similar results though no where near as dramatic in the process.

I wish I had found this sooner. It's great for using the same brush for different purposes. I find that I can use the one brush for bronzer, blush, highlighter and setting powder without having to worry about left-over residue mixing with whatever new product you want to use. I have a big collection of brushes that I love to use for different products and applications but if I have to travel and/or am staying in accommodation with other people and don't have the option of taking my collection along (lets face it, we have enough other things we need to take a mini-collection of - shoes, jewellery, outfits etc) this is a brilliant invention that will save the stress!I also find it great when using my brushes on myself and another person/people, especially if you ... MoreI wish I had found this sooner. It's great for using the same brush for different purposes. It doesn't take much pressure to remove it which is awesome because our brushes shouldn't be put under much pressure and it dries quite quickly. Some people may find the smell a bit too strong, I actually really like it.This is great alternative to washing brushes all the time. Going through the routine of rinsing, washing, drying can take a while and this is a quick, easy fix up for me to use until I have the time to do a complete, deep cleanse of my kit.I'll definitely keep buying this!
This has always been my go to brush cleaner. I buy multiple bottles a year. The formula is non drying and the scent is not too strong. It’s also a great size for my kit. However, recently it’s been coming without the rubber stopper inside the screw top which means when they arrive they have leaked and I lose half the product. I’ve now swapped over to the Mecca max cleaner which has been just as good but I do prefer the smell of this one. Please put the rubber stopper back in :)
I don’t wear make up often so cleaning make up brushes is one of those tasks that I have done less than I’m proud of (read: never). I’ve owned my current brush set about a year and have used them maybe 6 times (thanks COVID. But, in the interest of hygiene and sustainability ie not buying another set, I decided to use isolation to do the overwhelming task of cleaning my brushes. I groaned, put it off - daunted - I’d have soap suds everywhere and the brushes would take forever to dry. Wrong. This little beauty showed me that not only is it easy but it is kinda therapeutic to clean your brushes. Rubbing them until the colour runs out, feeling more and more smug with each stroke. Look at me, adulting! Proud to say I now clean my brushes after every use. As per the bottle “ quick drying formula…. Swiftly removes makeup…..” left my brushes very wet with only one spray. Did not quick dry. I followed instructions and it actually ruined my make up brushes. It also removed NO makeup from my brushes. Not even a little bit. I love Mecca but I was pretty unhappy with this product.
Ive never given such a poor review for a Mecca product! It is effective in cleaning the brushes, but the smell is so strong and its not pleasant - like a overpowering chemical smell. When i used the clean brushes, the smell was strong i had to rewash them with something else. Perhaps i scored a bad batch because the reviews say otherwise.
Bottle lasts for ages, I use it every single day to clean my brushes.Does the best job don't need to use water so great when travelling or just on the go.Have been using it for some years now, will constantly repurchase. It has prolonged the life off my Sigma brushes I swear..
I bought this cleaner for my synthetic hair brushes and it works well. You need to use it regularly as it's not great at taking off built up makeup (which you shouldn't really let build up, but sometimes you can't clean your brushes every time right!). For built up makeup i.e. a few weeks or longer, you need to give it a few cycles; so spray, wipe off on a tissue then repeat. I find spraying the product onto the brush then folding a tissue over and gently pinching/pressing the tissue onto the brush works well. For natural hair brushes, I received a tip from a Mecca guy a long time ago to use your normal shampoo to clean them and it works a treat, my natural brushes have lasted for years. Also remember to dry your brushes on a downward angle so moisture doesn't go up into the base of the bristles as this can affect the glue. While this cleaner has a nice soft fragrance, the downside is it also has a strong smell of alcohol.
