Tried Phillips, Vital and Nuby before finally finding Calma. A feeding system that maintained the suck reflex to an extent (none of the others came close) and gives the best chance of avoiding nipple confusion/chewing/pacifying/fluttering if topping-up, for days out or when intending to revert to breast. Although one size fits all did struggle with a sub 7lb newborn (triggers gag reflex with full latch and length of teat can interfere a little with the wave-type motion at the back of the tongue). Seems to correct/work better around 8lb +. Minimal reflux and very rarely causes choking (when milk goes down the wrong way). Nipple shields also helped to re-educate back to breast after bottle BUT still working through this so can’t attest to the efficacy of reverting to breastfeeding after bottledeeding/expressing. Also bought the freestyle pump which I can’t recommend enough for integrated, hands free, mobile, relatively comfortable (no soreness) and highly effective/efficient pumping. Actually performed better than the symphony we hired and is super quiet. The only company I found whose history, research, product testing and development stood-up to the uniquely-complex demands and needs of breastfeeding. Hired symphony had to be returned by a UPS drop-off tho which can be troublesome. Save yourself the time, effort, anxiety and stress by buying Medela. I spent days and days researching - medela is still the gold standard at the time of writing this review. Haven’t tried similar competitors, but majority of UK hospitals use medela technology so makes for easy transition. Did start with budget/entry alternatives e.g. Tommee tipper which were uncomfortable and inefficient. Middle market options e.g. Phillips are not significantly better. You get what you pay for.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion. ] We had already bought the small and large size of this bottle and teats (trying to stay in the Medela range for consistency) however our baby was not a fan of the teat!! It’s so small and skinny that he didn’t like it, and we ended up going with a different wider / rounder range. So I ended up with a lot of bottles and teats that we didn’t use. But that being said we still used the bottles for storage. The lid for the teat is flimsy as well to try and get on so that was a bit annoying.

I’m leaving a review for the 3 pack of bottles. I did find these at an amazing price that’s why I picked them up to try out. I purchased the three pack for $6.50 at a local baby/kids shop. The quality of the bottles feel just OKAY, the plastic feels like it can warp easily. All the other bottle brands I’ve used are a harder type of plastic in comparison to these. You can literally press on the bottle and it squeezes in a bit. My ultimate test was how fast the milk would pour out of the nipples and these almost come out wayyyy too fast for my daughter, I think I’ll have to try these again in a couple of months because she’s gulping the milk down too fast/ the milk is dripping out too quickly for her to drink.

Let me tell you my journey through baby bottles. Baby bottles. Easy enough, right? You just pick one, dump your milk into it, and feed your baby. What's the big deal! Wrong. My baby was born early. We supplemented formula for a few days in the hospital while my milk came in to help her gain weight. She used the ready to feed bottles with Similac nipples like a champ. What a big, good eater our tiny baby was! Fast forward to home. Avent Natural Bottles. The nipple was too big and she cried. Her tiny mouth didn't fit. We went back to 2 ounce milk collection bottles with Similac nipples from the hospital and she was happy again. We tried Dr Brown nipples at first because they were recommended so highly online. I absolutely loved these bottles during my breastfeeding journey. I used them during rotation of daily milk pumped throughout the day. These bottles are also accurate when measuring out oz pumped whether to bottle milk or store in breastmilk storage bags. Easy to clean and remove excessive fatty oil from breastmilk stuck on the plastic of the bottles. Great size for travel and all. I’ve used these bottles with a number of different pumps such as the Baby Buddha Spectra. Not just for the Medela Harmony or their other pumps.
My wife and I are new parents to the sweetest little boy on the planet and she wanted to do everything natural which meant she was hands down breastfeeding no questions about it, no formula, no alternative just breastfed momma milk, well she has done excellent and has a mass supply. These bottles are great for this because daddy needed some bonding time with his little boy too, changing diapers and holding him is amazing don't get me wrong but it doesn't release any oxytocin for the boy to get that love connection well she started using the pump and putting these bottle in the fridge as quick storage bottles for me to use as a way to feed my boy but to also get her some extra sleep and I tell yah these things rock. These bottles came with caps that lock on the top (spillproof) and it has lines and numbers for how many ounces your are using for your child. By far a product I would highly recommend for any woman wanting to pump for breast milk, hands down an amazing product.
The Medela breastmilk collection and storage bottle set is a convenient and reliable choice for nursing mothers. I was always worried about introducing these bottles to my baby nephew and niece as a gift but my sister said they were one of the best bottles she ever used for her kids. As with all Medela products this product is great quality and value for money. The unique design of the bottle helps baby take to the bottle as if feeding from the breast they need to suck it The bottles are designed for easy collection and safe storage of breastmilk. They are durable and leak-proof, ensuring that precious breastmilk is preserved without any wastage. The set typically includes various bottle sizes, allowing for flexibility in storage. Medela is a trusted brand in breastfeeding accessories, and this set lives up to its reputation by making the breastfeeding journey more manageable and hassle-free. The price is high but when I have my own babies, I wouldn't mind to pay for these wonderful bottles.
The Medela Breastmilk Collection and Storage Bottle Set is a practical solution for nursing mothers. The bottles are well-designed, with clear measurement markings for accurate storage. The included lids are secure, preventing leaks during storage and transportation. However, some may find the narrow neck a bit tricky to clean. The set is compatible with Medela breast pumps, making expressing and storing milk convenient. Overall, it's a valuable tool for efficient breast milk collection and safe storage.
They are exactly what you pay for. I love the shape and easy to travel with. The next is pretty wide and will fit any cleaning brush. Only complaint is they are already scratched up from travel but it didn’t claim to be scratch resistant so can’t knock them for it. $15 and lasted me 2 months. Gonna buy more since exclusively pumping and all my pumps are medela. They are the cheapest at Walmart online so that’s a plus.
I thought Medela was the be all, end all for baby feeding, however, I bought a few different brands of bottles (in case my baby was picky). I quickly realized that the opening at the top is SO small, it was difficult to scoop formula in or transfer breast milk from my storage pouches. I also did love that shaking/mixing the bottle with the lid on, did not cover the hole. If I had a pre made bottle with a lid and it tipped, or I shook it to mix it, the liquid would just drip all over the lid and it was essentially wasted milk. I also didn’t use a Medela breast pump, so it really didn’t serve a purpose for me to assist with storage and feeding for breastfeeding. So, take it for what it is, these aren’t terrible, by any means- there just may be a better option out ... MoreI thought Medela was the be all, end all for baby feeding, however, I bought a few different brands of bottles (in case my baby was picky).
